How Busy Is It Going To Be?

Mark9

Question

Right, so instead of endless topics asking us how busy the park is going to be, instead here is a rough guide to the kind of business the park/s should be expecting this season. It's not set in stone and remember business can be effected by weather, ride reliability, mount of trains/cars on the rollercoasters, amount of staff working on things, fastrack etc etc etc!10am - 5pm Weekday. Likely to be very empty, particularly in term time. Queue time should be minimal (Unless your name is Stealth and you have a stupid system where you can only load 4 in the first, 8 in the second and then you end up rolling back anyway etc etc) 10am-5pm Weekend. Will be emptyish, however likely to be long queues for Saw, Colossus, Stealth and Nemesis Inferno.10am-6pm. Busy but not so bad. Queues for the coasters could reach 45/60 minutes, whilst the rest of the flat rides should be a max of 30 minutes. June and July are when schools start rolling in, so between 11-3 the park will be very busy.9.30am-6pm. Should be busy. Queues for the coasters could reach 60/90 minutes and the rest of the rides queues will be between 20/40 minutes. Fastrack will be in operation.9.30-7pm. Expected to be busy. Queues should be similar to 9.30-6.00 close except the last hour should be quite empty.9.30-8.00 Again should be busy. At least you have a long day to get on quite a few rides. 10.00am-10.00pm Will be busy. Last year wasn't as bad as previously however if it ever hits peak capacity, queues will be up to 2 hours for the rollercoasters and between 45/90 minutes for the flat rides.Remember guys, read this guide to help if you beat the queues without wasting money on Fastrack. Also use the park well. Head to Stealth and Inferno instead of Saw and Colossus. Do rides whilst they look empty instead of following the majority of the crowds.

Not really used to these forums but.... Hi! First post :D

I'm going to Thorpe Park on the 6th november (coz is some Waitroes partnership day) and was wondering if its going to be busy? I dont know if you guys have had experience with patnership days at Thorpe on closed days. :)

Gonna be dead. John Lewis Partnership has limited the numbers to around 6000 people for the trip. :)

If anything like tonight the park will be dead but there are a lot of gypsies on a Sunday.

The chavs and gypsies were horrendous yesterday! They really ruined parts of our day.

For example on Storm Surge (first and last ride of the season on that thing) we got put in a raft with some and they were standing up, swearing and being generally abusive the whole time to us and the staff.

Some of them also ruined our third run in Asylum - they kept pushing us into the fences as they were at the back.

Also on Nemesis Inferno two chavs kept trying to get back on from the exit, and asked us to move up (even though we were a three) so that they could get on. I felt so sorry for the staff yesterday, but why didn't they just call security to escort them from the park?!

Absolutely horrendous, there is no place for people like that in theme parks (or anywhere for that matter).

What would you expect the maze queue's to be like on Saturday (12th October) ?

Saturday so long ish second weekend so maybe a bit shorter than last weekend I would say maze queues of around an hour.

And yes when in the asylum queue yesterday some kids were abusing the queue line actor and security was all over the place at the asylum. It had to be evacuated as an actor got punched.

Gonna go with my sister next week. She's never been to the park, really looking forward to the rollercoasters. We've been planning to go on Thursday 17th if the weather is half decent. Thinking it's probably not gonna be very busy so we'd get to ride each rollercoaster at least a couple of times. However now I began thinking about Sunday 20th, as I saw some comments about Fright Night not being that busy on Sundays. Not that interested in the mazes really, but would love to see the park in the dark, plus the extended opening hours. Reckon Thursday would still be the best then to get most out of the rollercoasters or does Fright Night atmosphere/darkness make it worth it even if there's longer queues? Would they be significantly longer?

Sunday 19th would have short queues especially on the the rides at night as demand becomes higher for the mazes. Maze queue would still be short aswell. For the best of the best go on the Friday.

Anyone knows how widely the schools will be closed tomorrow? Just saw Thorpe Park's "School's out" offer. I was hoping for a quieter day due to it being Thursday but now I'm afraid all the kids in the area will rush to the park? :S

You've got me worried now; it's my intention to be there tomorrow as it's forecast to be the best weather of my days off - gosh and I thought they were supposed to be at school.

Yeah it's because a lot of teachers are striking so some schools are closing, Thorpe are taking advantage of this and have posted an offer for schoolkids on their Facebook page which I'm sure will drum up a lot of interest. That mixed with the good weather tomorrow could be slightly busy!

I know right... of course I hope the park keeps on having guests and all but last time I went was busy summer time so was thinking of having a less busy visit now. We actually weighted Thursday vs Fright Nights, main aim to visit the rollercoasters, not fussed about the mazes... thinking Thursday will not be busy at all. Is this strike surprise news or have people seen it coming for days? People from further away might not be that eager to travel if short notice....

How busy do people think it will be for re meet on Saturday this weekend??

I'm going on saturday(unfortunately not with the meet!) but seeing as you guys will all be there, I am gonna say very busy ;)

I would probably estimate 90-120 min queues for the mazes like it was last Saturday. The rides will probably be about 60-90 mins. That's just my guessing! Could be a lot less busy or more busy!

If I bump into you guys will say hi ;)
