Reminds me very much of Saw, remember this is a Zierer coaster!

If you look at Wicked (Zierer's other coaster), there are LOTS of similarities between it and an Eurofighter...Posted ImageMust say I'm interested in see how Verbolten is received as well... Especially it is a very bold move for Zierer and Busch... The Legoland one not so much because it's not as massive or does as much in terms of multiple launching and such...

I don't know if this has already been mentioned at all, but there's gonna be an 11 Inversion roller coaster in China :ohttp://www.rcdb.com/9821.htm

And if you look at what that company have done before... Well...Posted Image

The Dragons are no longer duelling :P

Yep, a shame, but cannot blame the park considering the way in which America works in terms of law suits when something goes wrong... No longer truly iconic though, and all because of a few pennies...

Gotta love the name of Chinese coasters... Posted ImageBy the sounds of it, it could well be similar to Colossus, except with another vertical loop. Then again, hasn't a park bought Intamin's 12 inversion coaster now anyone, so this won't be 'Most inversions in the world' coaster for long :)

Haha, we were talking about Chinese coaster names in chat earlier! And I thought exactly what you have said about the layout being similar to Colossus, so I don't see this coaster being a huge deal. What they really need is a coaster with a completely different layout, THEN that will be something exciting to talk about! ;)

In perhaps the weirdest news story of the year, PETA are planning on sueing Sea World because they treat the whales like slaves, using the American Amendment what-not...

The animal rights group PETA filed their official complaint against SeaWorld Inc. early Wednesday morning for allegedly violating the thirteenth amendment rights of orca whales. The official complaint submitted to the US District Court for Southern California lists five SeaWorld orcas as collective plaintiffs in the case, according to the complaint. Three of those whales live in the San Diego SeaWorld park. The other two live in the Orlando location."The Thirteenth Amendment prohibits slavery, and these orcas are, by definition, slaves," said PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk in a statement.PETA alleges that the two SeaWorld locations restrained and kept the whales in “constant involuntary physical confinement,” with no means to escape. The complaint also accuses SeaWorld of depriving the whales of “their ability to live in a manner of their choosing,” and for “intentionally subjugating” the whales’ “wills, desires, and/or natural drives and needs of [seaWorld Inc.’s] own will and whims.”A spokesperson for SeaWorld Inc. stated that the claims were “baseless and offensive.” The statement added that any performances are intended to educate the public and promote conservation of marine animals."PETA has once again showed that it prefers publicity stunts to the hard work of caring for, rescuing and helping animals," the statement said.PETA’s complaint lists a number of qualities that orca whales possess, such as their problem-solving abilities and understanding of cooperative networks. The orcas are capable of displaying “physiological and behavioral indicators of stress and trauma,” the complaint reads, and can communicate the stress of living in captivity:“[seaWorld’s] confinement of [the orcas] suppresses [the orcas’] cultural traditions and deprives them of the ability to make conscious choices and of the environmental enrichment.”Under current law, animals are still considered property, according to the Associated Press.Should the PETA case against SeaWorld succeed, it could potentially bring other cases to zoological institutions that house animals.Public relations director for the San Diego Zoo Christina Simmons said such a case would cause concern for the preservation of animals.“We would be concerned with anything that would prevent us with our work to conserve species,” said Christina Simmons, the San Diego zoo public relations director.Simmons also said PETA could have a different agenda.“We have to look to the motives of the organization,” she said. The San Diego Zoo participates in a number of conservation efforts and animal preservation organizations, and Simmons said the zoo maintains the animals in the best situation possible.“There’s a long list of species that would no longer be around if they hadn’t been in zoological organizations,” she said.

At least the corkscrews have a break between them though I guess. If the Colossus ones are anything to go by, any more than 2 is enough to brake your neck...

Pfft... all this Colossus hating is so pathetic. That coaster looks awesome though
comment_126009

Dunno why it's pathetic, it's just most people think it's a diabolical ride because of the roughness and the numerous headaches some have received coming off it. Just opinion based off experiences. If that's pathetic, then what's the point in living?EDIT - Who wants to see what is possibly one of the WORST coaster concepts in the world? That apparently S&S are involved with?

Just... URGH... It looks horribly designed, stupid throughput, mechanically over-the-top and just generally vile...

Posted ImageA Krake themed horror maze for Heide Park next year... A quote from a press conference:''- New horrormaze based on an old ship wreck. Visitors walk through a galley, armory, dark labyrinth and a suspension bridge. There are 20 actors in the maze to walk that scare you.- Next year is 2 million euros invested in the further thematization of the pirate area. (which includes the horrormaze)- The wreck of the drop comes from cracking. The marine wrap is + / - 5 stories high.''Should be interessting to see how this ends up compared to Saw: Alive.(Credit to Coaster Force btw)Posted ImageThe drop to Krake will also have the mouth added to it, again from the quote and credit to Coaster Force.

Woah, you'd never see that happen at any of Merlin's English parks! Here, they'd definitely just leave it to the side and never bother shifting it across. But I suppose when you have actual competition from other theme parks in the same country then you do spend money on these sort of experience-enhancing touches. :P And that gets my daily dose of cynicism out of the way.

20?! Damn, none of the Thorpe's mazes get near that number.
