Kevin
It died (well if it didn't open I suppose it didn't die, just didn't start up) in the morning.
Tom
Thought at 12am it was time for a little light reading so I started reading this. ( As you do. )And what striked me was this:I understand that sometimes rides have restrictions above the manufacturers guidelines for various reasons, however I found it odd that a coaster such as Dragon's Fury which is located in a theme park aimed at families does not take advantage of this 1.2m alone or 1.1m with an adult height restriction! Fred
Yeah usually UK H&S - and also the parks giving themselves some leeway incase a child slips through the net on height checks - as it isn't difficult to decipher 119-120cm, but there's a big noticeable difference between 115-120cm for instance
Tom
Thanks for all of the responses! Yeah I guessed a few of these things.
James6
Just want to point out that Crush's Coaster at WDS (A maurer spinner) has a 1.07m restriction...
Mark9
Just want to point out that Crush's Coaster at WDS (A maurer spinner) has a 1.07m restriction...Yep and every Maurer spinner bar Dragons Fury can seat 4 adults. Chessington are either lazy or to careful to attempt to sort out Fury properly.
noob230
Chessington are putting a new facade on the Dragons Fury station building.Just thought I'd share.
Benin
Down all day today :DAnd Frazzle needs some TLC... Stolen off Peep
James6
Compared to some area's of the park, Frazzle is in perfect nick
d.m.k
I was also at the park yesterday. Shame that in the morning during ERT, I was told by staff that Dragon's Fury was just undergoing some minor engineering works and would be back open by 11am. After asking at a few points during the day, staff finally gave in at around 4:30pm and started saying "I very much doubt if we'll open today." What is wrong with that thing?! Never seems to be in full working order. (However, I'm not Chessington bashing, had a great day out! )
Kevin
Well not even the manufacturer who has repeatedly been on site recently know what is wrong with it.It takes a VERY long time to fault find, it finally started up this evening as was open. Yxz
Whats happenned to the entance? The Lockers sign and the cover around the Queue time display seem to have dissapeared.
Tom
^ Been like this all year I think. Essentially Chessington don't care.
Benin
Or have the budget to fix it
Tom
Their solution to broken things are partially themed, laminated signs. SOMETHING FOR ALL THE FAMILY.
BlackFlames
This ride is really scary but I like it.I like the way it spins and drops. I know it isn't no megacoaster, but it's pretty big and fast for Chessie.
Stokesyboy
Was not expecting this to be any better than spinball whizzer but blimey how wrong I was! Excellent ride really loved it!
Chris
I think when people underestimate Fury after experiencing Spinball Whizzer (Or what ever it's called now), it only makes their ride on Fury even better!
thorpeparkjack
Fury is a seriously good ride, one of my favourites. It defines the word fun.
JoshC.
I'm still in the weird position where I slightly prefer Spinball.. :SI like the theme to Fury much better, but I find Spinball's layout and that more fun. I put it more down to riding Fury more, but Spinball has to strange slight edge. Though my mind changes a lot; they're both good rides I'd say.. Stokesyboy
Yeah I much prefer this, although they were so slow at loading and it didn't help with a foreign family of 6 queue jumping right before we got on!
Stealthowl
Am a big fan of both rides...But am with Josh on this and I actually prefer Spinball a bit more than fury...However that's not to say I find them both very enjoyable and overall under-rated coasters
thorpeparkjack
My POV, it started hailing towards the end of the ride, quite funny!!!Chessington was great today, but as we all know the park is slowly but surely rotting and is reliant on attractions which are double figures in age (eg Vampire). Rattlesnake was also down all day today and was sorely missed.Mark9 - Please note TPM does not endorse on ride videos on any rollercoasters.
