Ricky
Not at all. I'm not saying that I want the Queen'e English on every website, and I admit that the website is perfect for the target audience. As I've said before, I just hate it.Yet you continue to persue its aimed at the classic 'chav' audience.Guys, the world isn't sperated into 'chavs' and 'fanboys'. that is clearly a type of 'ism' wether it be age, race, language, accent or what ever, if there slightly different don't mean they 'chavs'
Paul
If you read my previous posts, I haven't once said anything about being aimed at chavs.
Ricky
That post you directly say it is aimed to that target audience which would be taken as 'chavs'. 'chavs' are not a target audience, there a sterotype for thugs and vandals.

My perception of the target audience is that of Ages 12 - 30, Male and Female, Social Classes B and C1.
Chris
I like the new website. In regards to the "chav" business, it is at the target audience YOUNG PEOPLE, and this has come up a lot, people on this forum should learn that not every single teen or whatever is a "chav"
Ricky
Its the same with the term 'youth' where people will acuse them of being 'chavlike'
Paul
Let's steer back onto talking about the website?
Rich
Knowing people off here and seeing families at work instantly shows the "youth" population aren't all chavs, I wouldn't even say 50% are to be honest!Regarding the website, it is growing on me! In fact, most young people at the park don't really fall into the 'chav' stereotype.
JoshC.
Everyone has their own definition of the word 'chav'. I really don't understand why there has to be an argument about it being aimed at chavs, as everyone has their own opinion on what a chav is, so having an argument about it is superfluous..I wouldn't say that the site is being aimed at chavs, but I think chavs (in my own definition of the word) would like it. Paul
To be honest, I think chavs would laugh at it. In a sort of 'look they're trying to be like us' sort of way.
TimR
Anyone noticed that the "rides currently unavailable" section is gone? I think they might need that back once the season starts.EDIT: They've mucked up the opening times, look carefully.
Marc
I guess it will be on the scroller as it has been before they had the small section for it.
TimR
I guess it will be on the scroller as it has been before they had the small section for it.I suppose, but that will get annoying if you look how slow the scroller moves! :angry:Too be honest I was rather hoping for a darker themed website to fit in with SAW Alive, but can't please all! Ricky
I remember the scroller, 'please be aware that Colossus is unavailable today.....'
holtjammy16
Urgh the writing style's just vile, they can't expect to be seen as a world class park if they present themselves like a bloke in a pub trying to flog you some dodgy tickets. Not impressed. I disagree!, it looks so much better then it used to, it's eyecatching and unique.

Jamie_Hk
...and every year, Thorpe have had a different theme to the site, so this year it's a bit more 'laid back' and more interesting to read.
StevenVig
I prefer it to the old website, and I'm immensely happy that Semantic have got the contract again! However, those ridiculous nodding heads have got to go! The website will look slightly more professional without them. :lol:But apart from that, I really like it! Stokesyboy
I also like the new layout of the website aswell I think its more easy to read and definatly got a nicer feel to it
TimR
The website would be good, if those stupid people with the huge heads went.Edit: Whoever said the new website was aimed at chavs? Nemesis Inferno is a sick ride, definitely a good ride to get the day started
jjh123horry
They have ruined it, the 2009 website was a hell of a lot better in my opinion, it seemed to have more class in my opinion. But all of us that dont really like it cant change the mind of designers, the website is made and we will have to put up with the dreadful thing. Paul
One day later, and I have more specified my previous opinion of 'I hate it'. The general appearance, layout and visual aspect is quite nice, and suitable for the park. What I don't like, is the writing, in all of it's sarcastic and irritating entirety. The attitude of the writing is just childish.
Ricky
the website is made and we will have to put up with the dreadful thing. There not FORCING you on there, you don't have to look at the site!
Dan9
If I remember correctly, people had the same reaction to the last new site. Now suddenly everyone says that the old website was good? I'm starting to think that no one will ever be satisfied with anything Thorpe do, especially with the website. Yes there are lots of problems with Thorpe but the website shouldn't be something that matters so much.I quite like the site, I prefer it to the website of the last couple of years becuase it's easier and more interesting to read. The last website wasn't bad but I didn't like it's design very much and it was too clustered in my opinion, but I think this years is a big improvement on last years. And why does everyone keep complaining about it being not professional? It's not supposed to be professional, it's supposed to show off and advertise the park, it doesn't have to be professional just because it's a business.People do need to stop over-reacting though, it's just a website and whether you like it or not people need to stop acting like like it's a big drama.
