What do you want to do when you grow up?

I am thinking of becoming a General nurse though and then go on to specialise in Mental Health. I think I would find that interesting because members of my family have suffered with bad mental health (if that makes sense) and I have coped well with it and I would like to give something back.

Good luck! I think it's a wonderful idea, I feel very strongly about mental health and there is still very little understanding in this country. I'm sure you'd do very well! :oI definitely want a career with animals, going back to college in September, off to Plumpton to do the National Diploma in Animal Management After that, who knows? Maybe a vet nursing degree, or Animal Science...I don't know yet. Or maybe I could get a well-paid job at a zoo/safari park. Don't mean to sound greedy but I would like a career that pays well, and I don't see why I shouldn't, I'm intelligent and hard-working enough and it's only fair that I get good money in return! I look up to my dad as well. He did well at college, didn't go to uni. I don't know if he went straight to Glaxo (Smithkline Beecham back then though!) or somewhere else first, but he's been there for nearly 30 years as a research scientist and over the years has progressed and earned good money, and good for him! Unfortunately he's been made redundant along with some others, but financially I don't think he's too worried And it proves that you didn't have to go to uni to get a decent career back then. These days, people are almost being forced to go to uni. Ugh. I have nothing against uni itself, if you wanna go and need the qualifications then great (plus there's the socialising side of course!). But so many people go just for the hell of it, it seems. Meh.I've gone off track a bit in this post and confused myself! But yeah, deffo a career with animals!I've also had ideas about living in the US. I know everyone says this but...they really do have bigger houses and for the amount we'd pay here for an average 4 bedroom house...you could get something way nicer and bigger over there! But it's not just that, it would be an adventure, something new. I'm proud to be British and I love this country (well the nice things about it anyway!) but they have such a different lifestyle over there, I wanna know what it's like to be part of it. I've never been though, for all I know if I ever go on holiday there I might change my mind! I'd like to live in Maine. Nice place, coastal areas, forests, lakes, the weather is the same more or less as this country. I do like rain, it's quite cosy! Mind you they have heavier snowfall over there...but unlike most British people, I don't mind. Besides, they're probably more prepared for it than us Brits! I wouldn't want to be somewhere hot. It would be nice to live somewhere hot but it would take the novelty of going abroad away. You know, stepping off the plane and getting that blast of hot air. It's like when I decided to work at Thorpe. Since then it has never been the same, even though I finished my job there nearly 2 years ago, the novelty has gone. Plus there's hurricanes, tropial storms and forest fires etc to deal with! And I'm definitely having 2 Maine Coon cats, whatever happens! Beautiful, majestic cats, intelligent, big and cuddly, and good with kids. Yeah I want kids. And I'm taking them to Orlando, every kid should go! I never did (we nearly did when I was 10 but parents split up so was cancelled ) so I'm making sure they do!It's exciting having all these ideas...but scary to not know what will actually happen. I'm just gonna work hard and hopefully it'll pay off!

In my future I hope to be an Architect, Design/Landscaping or Something in Marketing! I enjoy the imaginative skills in design but I have an understandment of technical stuff so its probs the best route. I am applying for Jobs at the moment Apple Store, Waitrose etc

When I'm older, I would love a job with in a zoo or a theme park. I'm hoping to do my work experience at Paradise Wildlife Park because all the theme parks are too far away from me to get there every day. I've always wanted a job with animals and since I've started going to the bigger theme parks such as Thorpe Park and Chessington I've wanted to work at a theme park. Everyone says to me that they're not really well paid jobs and I just reply with "Who cares as long as I'm making money doing something I enjoy It doesn't matter how much I'm making"

I want to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. Why? Because I love the wonders of the medicine/surgery, the skeletal system (yes I'm weird) and hands on work. Not only that, but come on, what's better then replacing for example someone's hip/knee so that they can walk again, or fixing the shattered bones of a trauma patient after they've been in a car crash and allowing them live? Nothing in my opinion

I have three possible options I'd like to pursue.The first is Forensic Anthropology. I'd find it fascinating, and it's extremely well paid - especially if you end up a well known authority. Examining dead people may seem a bit macabre but it would be brilliant because of the sheer variety of cases you get to deal with, it's never the same scenario twice. Plus, in the forensic side of anthropology you get a bit of the criminal investigation side of proceedings, working with the police or FBI on high profile cases.The second option is taking a degree in aeronautical engineering or the like, and going on to work in the design of aeroplanes, preferably military. That would be great fun, and with the same degree it would be easy to transfer to designing cars, ships... Or coasters!The third, don't laugh, is working with either the ESA or NASA. I have and always have had a passion for space and physics, and without sounding full of it I'm good at it too. This isn't an 'I want to be an astronaut' childhood dream - I could see myself in either a similar designing role to that I'm talking about above, or as a research astronomer. Luckily, I could pursue any of them on either side of the Atlantic, so I'd seriously consider moving to America.

I would like to do something creative like animation, graphic design or game programming, I'm pretty good at Photoshop, I'm learning how to use flash and I'm trying to find and online course for programming so I'm going in the right direction!

The main job which I have been keen to pursue for a couple of years now is to become a veterinary surgeon. I'd love to do this job for a number of reasons. Firstly, I love animals! I would love to work with them as my job. Also, as a vet I would be working with a variety of animals which would keep the job fresh, I don't want a repetitive job, I want to enjoy what I work as. As well as this, I feel I am well prepared academically wise as my best subjects are the three sciences. A second option would be something to do with engineering, I'm not really sure what sort of area of engineering I would work in though, I will give that more thought in the future. Again, I consider myself good at the three sciences and maths so this could be a realistic possibility.

I want to work in computer programming, or advertising. They have always interested me :') Watching the Social Network inspired me, so might try and get into computer science at Harvard!

When I was alot younger (think I was 4), I wanted to be a bouncy castle attendant, very stupid idea? Yes .Since I'm doing a course in media at college and consider myself to be very creative, I would like to go into film and become a director/writer. However there is a course at Staffordshire uni that conbines media with theme parks, and guess which theme park the university runs the course with? Alton Towers! It's like God created my dream university course . This leaves me with two paths to follow, media/film industry or work in the theme park industry. However going into film first will help with coming up with original and highly creative idea and after gaining enough money and ideas, I could leave that industry and create my own park based on my films .
