THE SWARM: Construction Updates

Looks amazing, even if you was to ride at this speed I think the experience would be remarkable but that doesn't cater for the excuse that this is SHORT! After a good 2 hour queue I know I will be unsatisfied after this ride.

Damn, how would you have coped with the 3hr queues that stealth created when that first opened? :(

I think the inversions on this thing are really going to pack a punch. I'm thinking about the last inversion on blue fire, I'd imagine they could be quite "airy" like that.

Blue Fires amazing last inversion really whips you out of your seat, this will be really floaty instead. Looks great though. As stated on the last page, here's that image showing off what looks like a little clearance issue..

When I first heard about this, I was pretty annoyed (theming wise). It just sounded like another excuse to do depressing and amateurish scenery (I.E, mounds of bricks and rubble in the queue line for SAW and SAW alive... but it seems I stand corrected for the Swarm!Very impressive stuff merlin are producing. Certainly seems to have made people forget about the multi coloured monster that is Storm Surge.I take my hat off to you Thorpe! The coaster itself looks short, sweet and it offers some cool inversions. The train passing over the station should look great when the ride is in action and the good thing about this apocalyptic theme is that pieces of missing wall etc really won't seem that weird to look at. Hopefully it will all blend in nicely.

I had a freind who went to Thorpe on thursday with my collage, was a physics only trip :angry2:he was shown round stealth maintinace sheds and various other things around the park, I was very jelous when I found out.Anyway he got alot of photos, I'm hoping he will send them to me when he can and ill share them on here. he did tell me that there was a helicopter on the Swarm sight and his tour guide told him it was still registered to fly.

It's 'apparently' still registered to fly. From what I'm aware, it will be bashed up a little. Whether the blades are smashed up is a different matter. As a fun fact of the day, one of Thorpe's engineers is a fan of planes, which helped in the finding / building of plane parts. Also, the plane wing that you dive under is a mock one, as using a plane wing with the engine shells would not have been long enough. The engine shells, however, are real. :)
