  1. Prater Trip Report So I recently went to Vienna and had some spare time so went to visit Prater. It's basically a permanent fairground with all rides being operated independently. This makes it quite an expensive experience and the rides aren't the best with quite a few Wild Mouses (should that be Wild Mice?!) but that said it was a good way to kill a few hours... So arriving at the park you're met with the Big Wheel, which is why most people come to Prater. The entrance plaza is quite nice. The map is pretty confusing. Unless you know the names of the ride you wont really know where to go. So I wondered down the right han…

Well I know December was 3 months ago there abouts but I want to show you guys my little trip to New York. I will try to do it in 4 or five parts but that might be more seeming I did take 300 + photos in 4 days but no matter, plus for anybody going to thorpe park for the TPM meet on sunday will see my face for the first time lol. Just to say I dont look like that normally its just it was so windy and cold it seemed make my face look horrible and my hair was a mess :s So on to part 1: We finally managed to get out after a massive hailstorm. I seem to be bamboozled by the amount of TV on that one building. Started to get annoyed cos the traffic was horrendous and the g…

Hey, first post here! I was wondering if anyone would be interested on going to TP the 17th? I know there is a meeting the 19th, however I can't make it that day, and I have literally no one to go with! (my friend had to drop out of it) Can anyone make it? Really don't fancy spending the whole day alone! Cheers!

*warning, this is long* After a brief delay at East Midlands airport, I finally arrived at Hotel Portaventura after 11.00pm at night. Tired and very hungry, we grabbed a drink at the on-site café before heading to bed. I wolfed down a quick breakfast the next day before eagerly heading out into the park. Straight away you’re greeted by the gorgeous lake, with a lovely view of the B&Ms sitting proudly on the skyline. I just knew at this point that I’d fall in love with the place. So, the first ride of the day was Furious Baco. I’d already heard how terrible this was, so wasn’t exactly disappointed by the awful ride experience (the launch is incr…

Oh my god what a great day! I had no problems at all - well, the only one was The Swarm - it just fitted me! Nemesis Inferno at the front was easy to put over me, as was Saw (awesome ride). Stealth was absolutely brilliant - so much better than I expected! Can't wait to go back think gonna get fast passes because the queses are so annoying!

Since Nicky lives rather close to Camelot, and I’d never been and it keeps opening and closing more than a traditional British high street shop, we ventured forth onto the M61 and drove to CAMELOT! What’s this, a picture of the journey? Something must be terribly wrong here...OMG NICKY’S DRIVING AHHHHHHHHHHHH!And as if by magic, we left one hell to enter yet another... We arrived at a rather interesting (yet decent looking) entrance area...Rain was pouring down onto us, but oh wells, onto the first coaster...Dragon FlyerThis is an unique ride... Even for a powered coaster, in that the way in which is powered is by a diesel motor and generator which sits accompanied …

Is there a better way to spend a glorious bank holiday Sunday than going on a roadtrip and mopping up creds? Wait don't answer that... Yesterday me and my credit hunting buddy (freshly returned) went on an over 600 mile round trip to knock off the parks in the South West. Our day began with an over 5 hour drive to Flambards, which is the most southerly park in the UK. Nothing memorable to report about the drive, other than that we found a statue of a wicker man dropping to his knees at the entrance to an obscure services, he must of heard the news that Wicker Man is running slow at the moment, I hope he feels better soon. After wh…

Hey everyone. I wanted to share my photos from winter wonderland yesterday Overall it was a very good day, there's lot to do there, but it is very expensive most rides costing £6, so did not manage to get on a lot, all the rides are very well themed for Christmas and the theming in general is amazing. I also went to the Zippo's Christmas Circus that lasted for just under a hour, it was very good and funny, it was a mix between a circus act and a panto definitely worth a visit for all ages. The observation wheel was not the greatest, it went around 3 times by the end it was a boring and there is only one side really worth looking out of, but I did manage to ge…

  10. Saturday 24th May: Evening Wristband 5pm - 9:30pm Sunday 25th May: Daytime Wristband 10:30am - 5pm The two dark rides are the main draw for us at Fun City (namely Astro Storm and Terror Castle), but there are various other rides and coasters which make a visit worthwhile. Astro Storm is a ride I really enjoy, partly because I like the ride and what Brean have done with it but also for sentimental reasons. In my opinion it is better at Brean than it was at Blackpool because it runs faster and it's better in the pitch black with effects triggering as you go past them. Terror Castle is a ghost train in it's most extreme form. It's a constant bombardment of graphic horr…

Over the past couple of years I've really enjoyed reading trip reports on various forums, so I figured, for the people like me who enjoy reading these things, I'll take a shot. 3 weeks ago me and my friend went on a weekend trip to Denmark, I had never been to this part of Denmark before, instead having only done Tivoli Gardens (which I love) and Bakken (which I don't). This trip had been on the cards for a while and the opening of DrageKongen was the reason for waiting. Day 1 After a stupidly early flight out of Heathrow, with equally stupid BA we landed in Billund. Seeing Polar X-plorer from the runway was fun and got me to thinking, …

  13. PREVIEW TIME: 6pm - 10pm RIDES OPEN: The Swarm, Stealth, Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, Saw: The Ride The event started at 6pm with a speech from "The Ringleader" before we were let in at about 6:15pm. It was a great evening with a good atmosphere, and queues were fairly short apart from on the new maze - The Big Top. We headed to My Bloody Valentine first which proved to be a good move, as I read reports afterwards that The Big Top didn't open until 7pm, and Cabin in the Woods was also delayed in opening. From there we did the mazes (apart from Blair Witch as it had a very long queue), doing some again which were near walk-on and some night rides before getting in …

  14. A few weeks ago I returned from a holiday to Amsterdam which of course included a trip to Efteling, one of the biggest theme parks in Europe. I'd read a bit about the park beforehand and wasn't too sure what to expect. On the one hand Baron looked like an excellent coaster and the atmosphere seemed so quaint and lovely but I was worried that the park would be too kiddie focused and as an adult there wouldn't be enough to interest me. Quick spoiler warning, I will be discussing parts of some attractions which I wouldn't have wanted spoiling myself so if you've got a trip planned please don't read this! The day started with an early wake up and by 7AM we were ou…

  15. So on Sunday 21st August 2016, me and EC! as part of our California trip, visited our first theme park of the trip, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom... I'm not the best at explaining things or going into detail, so here's an overview of the park and our day, and some pictures, Enjoy! From the outside the park looks incredibly compact, a bit like Thorpe Park... But once inside, even though some of the coasters are bunched together the park is surprisingly big to walk around. The park is visually stunning and very well kept, and just in general looks really nice, unfortunately the day felt a little ruined by the reliability (or lack of) of the park, with V2 not openi…

The following is a holiday on a cruise ship that we went on from Feb 18th-March 3rdWe (Mum, Dad, Sister, Sister's best friend and I) decided that we were going to go on a relaxing cruise that will go to different destinations across the world and each ship has its own course that it follows. We went with the world-renowned Royal Caribbean International who have a massive amount of cruise ships, the ship we went on, was the fourth largest class of ships, Radiance: Jewel. The destinations were in South America and we went to Miami, Haiti, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama Canal and Grand Cayman, which were very hot, exotic and beautiful.Arrived at airport Heathrow (FTW) Terminal…

  17. You know there are times when you just think...when the bloody hell did that happen? Well That just happened to me at Flamingoland. I have had plenty of visits over the last few years whereby I've been impressed at the park progress, but this year, (partly due to the fact that I didn't really get a chance to ride much because we were there for my son's birthday, and he had his diminutive friend, brother and cousin in tow) it struck me just how far they have come from the concrete jungle they were in the mid nineties. It struck me how Merlin-like the park was starting to become, the Children's world interactive play area set amongst meercats and lemurs out-Chessingtonin…

I've had the intention of hitting up West Midland Safari Park, a zoo/drive through safari/amusement park hybrid, for quite a while now but due to both the cost and time required I've never gotten around to it, until now... After doing a bit of planning, I discovered if you book a week in advance, visit on the Sunday and combine the amusement park wristbands with the entrance tickets you can get the price down to a rather reasonable £26, which really isn't that bad at all, as I shall explain. With that I set off for the park on the Sunday just gone and other than the last 10 miles or so of the drive, things seemed to go quite well, I know right, I c…

Went to Flamingo Land last Wednesday, was absolutely fantastic...We were staying in Scarborough, about 20-30 minutes from the park, we arrived at roughly about 10:45. First off I got a Q Buster ticket as a informant told me that it would be very busy, all the staff we met were polite and very helpful, so thank you for that FL!The zoo was good as well as the rides, we say some Meerkat babies So cute! The chimps were locked inside, their outdoor window was smashed, never under estimate these apes! Thats about it, it was a fun but pretty uneventful day!Ride Count:Velocity - 1 (Thrilling but painful)Dodgems - 1Corkscrew - 1 (ouch)Flip Flop - 2 (So much fun!)Mumbo Jumbo - 2 …

So, during half term Me and my cousin (Lukeeeeeee) went to Germany. Not for the culture or sausages, but for the Theme Parks In this topic I will post my trip reports and videos (once edited) from the trip. PART 1: Movie Park Germany! I was quite surprised with how good this park actually was. Sure, the coasters might not be the best, but the dark rides are amazing. The full trip report can be found here WARNING: very picture and text heavy (over 2000 words), just how you like it.

  21. First time back at Legoland in a long time. It looks a lot different to what I remember. We left home after the park opened because we're all lazy buggers. KP crisps are doing 50% vouchers so if your planning on going to Merlin attractions soon and paying have a looksie. So off we went, went and got Callum's ticket. The guy at the admissions desk we went to was brilliant. In terms of busyness it was barely any one. Got in to the park, one thing I don't miss is the bloody hills. The one leading down to Viking Land you literally turn a corner and I almost fell down it went that steep. So off we went onto Viking River Splash. For the landscape that it's on they've done well t…

With none of us likely to visit a park in current situations, I decided to create a new thread to Try and keep things upbeat. What are everyone’s most memorable theme park visits? Where did you go to and what made that place or trip so special? Be as specific as you like, make a list. Was it the circumstances or the atmosphere that made it so? I’ll make a start. 5/ Blackpool Pleasure Beach September 2014 I had just gone through a Bumpy time of family related health issues, so this trip couldn’t have come at a better time. Blackpool was TPM’s most ambitious meet-up to date and the park proved to be my first major non-Merlin Park at th…

PARK OPEN: 10am - 5pm RIDES CLOSED: None! BREAKDOWNS: Megafobia opened at 11am as it was having a few issues in the morning, but apart from that I don't think there were any. After the poor days we had at Oakwood last year (http://forum.maniahub.com/topic/10719-oakwood-theme-park-wednesday-30th-july-monday-4th-august-2014/) we vowed never to return, however it was decided that we were going to give them one last chance - after all, it was one of my first ever theme parks and it houses Megafobia! We had a fantastic day at Oakwood, everything was open and the park was quiet meaning that queues were minimal and the ride count was great! …

  24. Wednesday 30th July PARK OPEN: 10am - 10pm RIDES CLOSED: Drenched, Bounce, Pirate Ship, Clown Coaster, Train BREAKDOWNS: Megafobia (about 30 mins), Skull Rock (twice, 10 mins each time), Vertigo (about an hour). Before visiting, I phoned up the park asking if there were any ride closures, and was told that the pirate ship was closed but that everything else is open. On arrival, we saw that Bounce was also closed, which was a disappointment. Naturally we went to Megafobia first after entering the park, which was running a one train service with an hour's worth of queue (which took 1hr 15mins), with the fast pass queue going down the exit. Once in the station we realised …

Initially I was against writing a trip report on Disney World. I've done two previously and sparked the odd debate on the quality of Disney and Universal. Nonetheless, with a month now passed, I think I can be objective on the trip enough to do a write-up. So here goes. Since my last trip in 2012 a lot has changed. Not only has WDW seen a lot removed ( and a few things added), I've also been to many other parks including four trips to Paris and a trip to California. I think it's fair to say that Chris and I were both a tad concerned that the amazing memories we'd gathered of our previous visits would be dashed. Suffice to say, thankfully that wasn't the case. So first…
