Hi guys. The 2022 season is just beginning, with BPB starting to reopen its gates, so I thought I’d breathe some life back into TPM’s trip report section (which hasn’t been updated for over a year by the looks of things) and make a 2022 Trip Plans thread! So, what parks are we all planning to do this year, now that COVID’s effect on the theme park industry is seemingly beginning to ease? Personally, I have a variety of plans for 2022. Much of this isn’t set in stone, as it’s only February, but here are my tentative 2022 trip plans, split into categories of their status: Locked In Plans Europa Park (26th-30th April 2022, on park 27th-29th April 2022) -…

Tulleys farm is one of the biggest scare attractions of 2012! With 6 mazes and many roaming we were in for a fright as we arrived at tulleys farm's preview night! Below are reviews of 5 mazes! Due to the fact that the review has spoilers, the whole reviews are going to be in spoiler tags! Enjoy Sadly due to the fact that I am not 15 I was refused entry into the maze! Bit of a bummer actually as 15 is a 'recommended age' not a set age!

Hello everyone! So today I had a spur of the moment trip to Drayton Manor and had a great time. I used to come here quite a lot as a kid but haven't visited since the day before G Force opened in 2005 (first ever spite! ) so it was interesting to see both how the park has changed and what it's like visiting as an adult. I didn't take any pictures so I'll give a rundown and my views of everything I went on Scorecard: G Force x4 Shockwave x4 Apocalypse x3 Maelstrom x6 Ben 10 x2 Pandemonium x1 Air Race x1 Having been to AT last weekend for the John Lewis event I decided to give the opening day a miss and head to Drayton instead. This decision definitely paid …

With none of us likely to visit a park in current situations, I decided to create a new thread to Try and keep things upbeat. What are everyone’s most memorable theme park visits? Where did you go to and what made that place or trip so special? Be as specific as you like, make a list. Was it the circumstances or the atmosphere that made it so? I’ll make a start. 5/ Blackpool Pleasure Beach September 2014 I had just gone through a Bumpy time of family related health issues, so this trip couldn’t have come at a better time. Blackpool was TPM’s most ambitious meet-up to date and the park proved to be my first major non-Merlin Park at th…

So where are you going this year. The world is essentially back to normal (lets avoid talking China) so rollercoaster season is back on the menu boys/girls/everything in-between. For me May - Poland for Energylandia and the other one with Lech coaster June - East coast trip for Kings Dominion, Busch Williamsburg, SF America, Hershey, Dorney, SF Great Adventure & the big Mall place in new Jersey. I've tried pushing for SF New England but I don't think I'm going to win my corner as it takes us way past New York and the Hubby is resisting my need for Batman. August - Back to Florida to get on Tron, Guardians, Pipeline, Ice …

TRIP REPORT - 6th and 8th April 2013 Firstly, I would just like to mention that after not being able to visit Pleasure Beach for a whole year it was amazing to be back at the park for two days! I now prefer the woodies to the steelies overall, although PMBO is still the best coaster in my opinion (Just!) Although the ride operation was an absoloute farce on both of the days I was there. (Now known in our family as "The sandbag ride" hehe). I was very dissapointed, I only go once a year so only getting on three times in two days was not good. (Was closed for most of Saturday and then half a train open on Monday. Not acceptable.) Grand National and The Mouse were both run…

So this weekend its the river festival in bedford and there is always a funfair for it! Before I get into my report I shall do a ride count Danter's Superstar - 2x Parrish's Extreme- 1x (it was having technical problems and me and luke waited about 3 minutes before the safety bars opened so we could get on the ride!) Stokes's Dream's Live - 1x Ghost Train - 1x Matthew's Tango - 1x Miami -1x Wallis's Vertigo Booster - 1x So onto the rides! Danter's superstar is probably the best superstar travelling in the country and it was my first ever superstar! Very intense yet relaxing! It also had air gates for the exit and entrance which is really neat! It was along th…

So, I have been up to see Ben for the past four days and during that time we went to Fantasy Island, Skegness and Alton Towers. I thought rather than doing just a Towers trip report, I may as well mention FI and Skeggy, plus the Capriolo we went on at a fair on the way back, it totally deserves a mention! Fantasy Island...hmm well it was fun, that's all there is to say really! The rides aren't bad, the place is a bit random though; they have a market there which makes it feel pretty tacky and you get some strange, shouty people! And it's quite strange seeing a main road basically going through the place! My favourite ride there was probably The Beast, best topscan I'v…

Guten Tag! With a week off at the start of July myself and the wife are heading over to Germany for some riding and adventure. We were originally thinking of trying to do the whole west side from Phantasialand / Movie Park and surrounding parks down to Europa, but soon realised we'd spend the whole trip either riding, driving or sleeping and see none of Germany, which seemed a shame, so we've scaled it down a bit to the southwest corner. I've never been to Germany before (other than a days skiing a couple of years back), so this is all new to me. Flying out on Tuesday afternoon to Baden Baden, hiring a car, the current itinerary is... …

A last minute decision was made to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach over the weekend, and needless to say I was very excited in the week leading up to it! We had a fantastic weekend, with two days on park, which was very good operationally considering that it was only the second weekend of it being open and in February. BPB was on a full ride lineup, with the exception of Spongebob's Splash Bash both days and Teacups on the Sunday, so I really can't moan at that! The park feels much fresher, with various things having been refurbished such as the Flying Machines and the removal of the Monorail station, both of which make it look much nicer, and the view from the…

So I set off on the 29th of july at a nice and early 2:40am. Due to flight times and numerous delays we didnt get to the park until 8pm local time. So we checked into the hotel and had a nice walk along the beach and a quick look at gatekeeper and windseeker. 30th july Being a hotel guest the park opened at 9am so we had breakfast and walked down to the nearest entrance. There was a 10 minute queue to get in so by the time we got to maverick there was about a 20 minute queue. I had heard very good things of maverick and I can now understand why. It is a fantastic layout and the launch halfway through really packs a punch. After maverick we walked over to millennium for…

Oh my god what a great day! I had no problems at all - well, the only one was The Swarm - it just fitted me! Nemesis Inferno at the front was easy to put over me, as was Saw (awesome ride). Stealth was absolutely brilliant - so much better than I expected! Can't wait to go back think gonna get fast passes because the queses are so annoying!

After my impressive trip to WMSP, I decided I'd hit up Stourport before heading home, to ride the cred at Treasure Island. Not long after entering the town of Stourport however, my progress was dramatically slowed by the realisation I'd just joined the rear of a Scout's march through the town. For a good 5 minutes or so I followed at 4 mph, while the locals watching the parade gave me death stares and the Scouts at the back of the pack kept turning round with fear in their eyes. While all this awfulness was occurring I was frantically pissing about with the sat nav in hope it could reroute me, it couldn't though, that's a surprise. Thankfully they all turned d…

So on Sunday 21st August 2016, me and EC! as part of our California trip, visited our first theme park of the trip, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom... I'm not the best at explaining things or going into detail, so here's an overview of the park and our day, and some pictures, Enjoy! From the outside the park looks incredibly compact, a bit like Thorpe Park... But once inside, even though some of the coasters are bunched together the park is surprisingly big to walk around. The park is visually stunning and very well kept, and just in general looks really nice, unfortunately the day felt a little ruined by the reliability (or lack of) of the park, with V2 not openi…

So, during half term Me and my cousin (Lukeeeeeee) went to Germany. Not for the culture or sausages, but for the Theme Parks In this topic I will post my trip reports and videos (once edited) from the trip. PART 1: Movie Park Germany! I was quite surprised with how good this park actually was. Sure, the coasters might not be the best, but the dark rides are amazing. The full trip report can be found here WARNING: very picture and text heavy (over 2000 words), just how you like it.

Wow, what an amazing weekend! Friday evening saw us arrive in Blackpool and take a late night walk around the promenade and on the pier, Blackpool was heaving yet BPB closed at 5pm which was sad to see, especially considering that the pier was doing a huge trade. Saturday was spent in the park and we had a fantastic day - it started off quiet but the crowds picked up and the park was quite busy in the end, but not crammed full. Most rides were on their current-day maximum capacity but rides like the Ghost Train and Grand Prix were still holding ridiculous queues due to the awful way they are operated these days. Sunday was spent in the park again, and it was …

Hi All, Plan a trip to Alton Towers Mid-August, obviously going to be completely rammed due to it being school holidays etc. I plan to get 2 Day Tickets, Plus the best Fastrack available so I don't have to spend any time queueing. I'm after some advice as to what the most economical way to do this could possibly be. Obviously the park offers package deals, but I think there are probably cheaper ways to do it. Are there any offers around for cheap tickets at the moment etc? Any Advice appreciated. JD

PARK OPEN: 10am - 10pm RIDES CLOSED: Avatar Airbender, Crazy Daisy (for the stage). Firstly, it was fantastic to see BPB so busy, I don't think I have ever seen it so busy in 11 years of visiting and the atmosphere was fantastic. As for the Halloween event, it was good but I came away feeling like BPB could do so much more! When you see parks that have only just re-opened (Dreamland) or much smaller than BPB (Pleasurewood Hills) putting on two or three full scale scare mazes, BPB's effort at a horror maze really does feel a bit sad. I actually felt that the Chinese Puzzle Horror Maze was better last year as there were actors and more props, this year…

Just when you thought it was safe to get back on the forums, I'm back, back from Scarefest no less. Our story begins with me dropping my friend off at the car hire place, so he could rent a spacious beast for all his work related crap, it turns out Merlin have acquired the place because it took us 45 unorganised minutes before we were ready to set off. On route to our hotel in Stoke we decided to grab the cred at... St Nicholas Park - https://rcdb.com/14020.htm My f**k awful sat nav managed to take me a locked Victorian gate in the centre of Warwick high street, meaning my friend had to bail me out and manually direct me usi…

Over the past couple of years I've really enjoyed reading trip reports on various forums, so I figured, for the people like me who enjoy reading these things, I'll take a shot. 3 weeks ago me and my friend went on a weekend trip to Denmark, I had never been to this part of Denmark before, instead having only done Tivoli Gardens (which I love) and Bakken (which I don't). This trip had been on the cards for a while and the opening of DrageKongen was the reason for waiting. Day 1 After a stupidly early flight out of Heathrow, with equally stupid BA we landed in Billund. Seeing Polar X-plorer from the runway was fun and got me to thinking, …

TL;DR - It was okay. Could do better. Why am I walking through corridors? First Merlin attraction of the year, London Dungeons. The last time I visited the London Dungeons it was based at London Bridge, located under a railway arch. The location was great, however, caused unnecessary pedestrian traffic, this is due to London still being set in the 1600's and having very narrow streets. You'd think after being flattened 80 years ago London would be redesigned for the 20th Century, but no.... we built it brick by brick back to how it was =/ . That's progress for ya'! So, back to the past, when I visited the dungeons a few years back I was left underwhelmed. The props loo…
