  1. Fear on a Ride

Ah - well to be honest, for me I find flat rides a lot scarier than coasters. I flat out refuse to do Detonator ever again and I’m not a massive fan of Rush and Vortex either. I know it’s not easy but you might have to just grit your teeth and go for it. When I took my niece on her first upside down coaster (Pinfari ?), she freaked out going up the lift hill so I just stayed calm, got her to sing and scream and it worked. Stealth used to scare the ? out of me until my 20ish ride on it and the only thing that helped was screaming/swearing on the way up - not very ladylike but it worked. Inferno is a great one to start with - it’s the first one I did at Thorpe and the same with my niece. I remember being scared of the vertical loop going up the lift hill on my first go thinking “sh£&& that’s high” but you really don’t notice it - as in it feels a lot different to how you would expect it to. If you are concerned about motion sickness I can highly recommend cinarazine (Stugeron) - without that stuff I would be so unwell on rides. Obviously you are anxious but if you can get hold of some, Rescue Remedy is really good.. I’ve probably repeated myself from older posts but I’m too lazy to go back and check ? so apologies. Finally go with someone who understands your fear and will reassure you but not bully you or pressurise you to do something if you’re not ready. If someone had told me 6 years ago that I’d ride all the coasters at Thorpe, Towers and BPB (plus Efteling and Phantasialand) I would have laughed in their face but I’m glad I took the plunge - it’s just that first step to overcome then I’m sure you’ll be hooked

True that. I think that's what put me off of it TBH. Is the win icon site genuine as it obviously has the false claim and everytime I input any details it tells me I have already entered when I really haven't?

That world first claim is hilarious. Surely just a mistake, but the blatant lack of proof reading is dreadful. The advert isn't great. It feels more like an online teaser trailer to the main advert. If the main advert had been ten seconds of that style, followed by 20 seconds showing the ride and all the cool stuff it'll do, that'd been perfect!

Advert good? Hmm, maybe I'm on my own in thinking it's awful.

Hang on a minute... WORLD'S FIRST?! ? Have they never heard of Helix, Manta, Full throttle etc? A complete and utter false claim, their complacency is shocking - much worse than any of Alton's claims! https://winiconride.co.uk/ In other news, the TV advert has been released... pretty good!

Judging from the crane witness, I can assume Black Bucaneer is getting major work done to it and will hopefully reopen before super-peak season (July onwards). It could be a case that more work was needed than first expected, but still isn’t great that a notable support ride is out of action three months into the main season. I get the impression the engineering department at all parks is down this year compared to previous ones. Understaffing and budgets are possible. As for those “staff say it’s not coming back because of 123 reasons”, that’s just general nonsense and wouldn’t believe anything until the park or a reliable source officially announce anything. There’s been lots of silly rumours all over the years, from Swarm VR to that Flying Coaster in Canada Creek.

At the end of the day, that last thing is all you can do as an individual. Yes, I'm a hater of most enthusiast groups myself for the same reason (if not a few more) and if they wanna d*ck around acting more like different groups of 5 year olds, that's their business. Leave them to it.

Also to note is how the rapids restriction board states there's "no eating or drinking in the queue" despite the fact that there are vending machines towards the front! What a pickle we are in.

Run from it, hide from it. Ride cutbacks still arrive. ( (The person who tweeted this put a smile on my face)
