Even just the parks alone are literally the most attended and profitable parks on the earth. I'm sure one park going under for a month or two won't hurt too much in the long run, Disney literally own the monoply board when it comes to attendance and profit. Like the nearest chain is Merlin, which really wouldn't even be relevant if it wasn't for the Legolands..

Gotta laugh at the eNThuSiAstS losing their shiz over the AromaPrime tweet t'other day and then it ends up being a massive let down, obvs. I'm sure being able to make your humble abode smell like a horror maze is 100% what the general public want from Thorpe as new for 2020.

Wonder if the beautiful smell of weed you get across Thorpe park will be featured in the long run!! 😮

Arrow track is so cool looking! I'm glad that The Big One is being looked after to prolong it as it is rather than getting another manufacturer to completely retrack it; I see so many people calling for it to be "RMC'd" or replaced entirely but I'd hate to see either of those things happen. The Big One is, IMO, such a special coaster. It has character, I like the unusual layout and it also still has the best first drop I've ever ridden. Everyone raves about B&M hyper coasters, I rode two in America and found them bland and unremarkable. Rides like PMBO and Magnum have something different about them - the sound of the lifthill, design of the trains, the random bumps in the track are all part of it! In my opinion, there is something special about rides from The Big One's era that modern coasters can't match.

Thorpe's food offering died they day Roast and Relish closed. Genuinely some of the best themepark food out there, actual quality, not fried crap, decent value.

I disagree, isn't the idea of a fan forum to discuss all aspects of a subject (in this case Thorpe) whether good or bad? Being a fan of something doesn't mean you have to defend or be positive about everything they do, IMO. If Thorpe was in a brilliant state I'd be singing their praises, but equally it's just as important to talk about the aspects that aren't good. And unfortunately, there are IMO quite a lot of those with Thorpe currently! I won't be a PR machine for the park and say that everything's wonderful, that's for brand advocates and marketeers not fans.

Not to mention water rides cost a lot to keep the water clean too (especially stuff like Valhalla where so much is dumped on you). Tidal Wave is like the most or second-most expensive ride to run at Thorpe for example. Actually figures of how much Valhalla costs to run are pretty meaningless as we don't know a scale of the numbers. If £250k per month is accurate, how does that compare to a roller coaster? Or to Tidal Wave? Or anything else? We don't know - it's just a number.
