J.S217 got a reaction from Marhelorpe in Fright Nights 2018 - Spoiler ThreadFright Nights to say the least was interesting. Went to the meet on sunday really good fun thank you. Anyway attraction reviews. First up the Infamous Vulcan Peak. Scare Rating 1/10 Hilarity rating 8/10 I don't know if that's how the maze is meant to run with hands on shoulders. Felt around for a rope for a good half of the maze. I also don't think there were any Actors in the maze... Anyway Platform 15 7/10 This maze last year was really good fun. Still is really good fun some brilliant sections shame about the story change but the final is a big improvement and some fab scares inside the cottage section. Only downside is the uncomfy ground. wear decent shoes to events like these. Dead Creek woods. 7.5/10 this walk through was fun a bit abundant of Actors for the first half but sadly it felt rather short. I would say this was the best scare attraction at this place. It had a simple story line but sometimes that works. then Later on in the maze the Actors where very good with some great scares. Final attraction we experienced was Do or Die. 6/10 this had a very loose storyline. some good moments but most of the time felt like we were being rushed through. came out the end feeling a bit unsatisfied. This event overall was okay the rides in the dark are the highlight this year where as last year the highlight was, yep you guessed it the Big top. One issue I found at this years Frightnights is that it lacked a final big scare with the exception of Platform 15. they seem to put there best scare in the middle of the mazes most notable in Dead creek and Do or Die. so it could use some improvements, A maze with no ending feels like a film with a good beginning fantastic middle but a lacking ending making the overall film not that good or talked about because the ending is the last thing you remember after leaving the cinema. Also one thing to note is the Audio around the park is good although a little quite in areas notably in the center of Amity. The themed audio on rides like Colossus Stealth and Nemesis Inferno really stood out, Another great part of this years event is Inferno's queue line music with the chanting and deep jungle cannibalistic ambiance. Big Top Showtime was doing its thing scaring all the kids in the dome. Overall sad to say it but this year could use improvement and in my experience is the worst Fright Nights I have experienced. Hopefully they can improve for next year. Time will tell.

J.S217 got a reaction from JoshC. in PhantasialandPhantasialand is by far one of the best Theme Parks I have ever visited it's the only park, That gets me excited knowing I'm going back there.

New for 2019: My Chemical Romance: The Ride! To celebrate their long awaited and obvious reunion, the island transforms to celebrate the incoming Black Parade - the bleak progression of the dead take over the park and infest their souls into the pyramid (another obvious horror theme, maybe Merlin should hire me (I really hope they do I heckin' need a full time job)).

J.S217 reacted to Mitchada04 in Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the DemonRight.
Firstly I'm not a fanof VR based attractions. I find it a cop out basically. I like Alpenexpress VR as an extra choice, and 1/10 Times I'll use the VR on Galactica. A whole attraction seems and is to me, too much.
First part is unchanged basically, fine there were no major issues there.
Second VR sequence is much better with in built buffers instead of a loop so if they're slow at loading You aren't watching a green mist loop. But, the new VR goes away from the sub core story or is very little tie in. Yeah.
New ending is good though and it feels a lot more in Derren's styling. So yeah it's at least complete now and all flows.
BUT. I feel it's pretty unreridable for me at least as its only VR and doesn't change so it isn't jumpy after one go. And the story isn't strong enough for you to just sit And enjoy in my eyes, especially as the train hardly moves so it's just like watching tv on your phone on the underground.
Also, great it's better but this should have been version one, the last year debacle should never have been green lit so I find it hard to overly applaud them for improving something that was so bad to begin with. It's better yes, but that wasn't hard.
Oh and it's still far too complex mechanically for what it does and I believe it will be unreliable as ever. It broke at least 4 times tonight, but they do seem to be able to start it up better now.
Yeah, maybe queue10 mins for it but I fear itwill get repetitive very fast and is gonna cost a bomb to run so may struggle in the long term, especially if it's popularity dwindles.

J.S217 got a reaction from pognoi in Port AventuraIs it just me but the new Intamin track looks odd on this type of coaster

J.S217 reacted to MattyMoo in TPM Thorpe Park Open MeetIf this ends up being on the Saturday then alas I can't make it (sad times) - it's my first day at my new job, and I'm just really hoping that demon costume still fits.
-
J.S217 reacted to Mitchada04 in Walibi HollandI didn't think that paint on either of those rides looked bad at all. And to go with the same colours just seems like throwing money away but hey, that's the weird wacky walibi way.

J.S217 reacted to JoshC. in Worst Roller Coasters/Rides You Have Been On.+1
Wins the award for 'Worst Restraints' for me also. Physically having to rearrange your ears so they're not folded in against the OTSR is not pleasant.

J.S217 reacted to Benin in Worst Roller Coasters/Rides You Have Been On.There are some strange people who like both Bakken AND Baco!
I'd like to put forward El Condor at Walibi Holland on the list... By far the worst SLC I've ridden...

J.S217 reacted to Mitchada04 in Hyde Park Winter WonderlandIt's a marvelous feat of engineering and design. I'm not sure why everyone was hyped thinking the ride was going to be the best thing ever. The hype should have been justfor the fact this legend has finally made it to the UK. And that it's silky smooth, travels Europe, operates better than anything we have in this country and is 30 odd years old. It's crazy!
The ride is just fun. Good speed throughout with some flicky twists and turns. Didn't have any issues with the restraints either.
Really dislike how nowadays everything has to be a "it's in" or "it's not in my top 10." Stop trying to compare every ride to everything and just sit back and enjoy. It's so much more fun!

J.S217 reacted to Mark9 in The Big Bad Movie TopicMoana is so good. Best soundtrack since the Lion King (In Disney films anyway).
