  5. The cinema is not relaxing... You get concussion!!
  6. I like thrilling rides... But things like sonic spin ball, 13, and X I do enjoy as well as they're a bit thrilling and so much fun - exactly what juvelen looks like!
  7. What do people think about flying fish... Did it close early to get the maintenance in time to allow the park to open for February half term (love how we don't even know if this is happening yet), or do you reckon it will be relocated to fungle safari and/or get the scorpion express style treatment?
  8. never been on the last day of a season before, such a nice atmosphere on park, and the rides ended up on 2 trains and had great reliability, also an hour in the dark was a great bonus! Ride Count: Stealth x5 The Swarm x3 Saw x3 Carousel x3 - the last two rides ever! Nemesis inferno x2 Rumba Rapids x2 Rush x2 Loggers Leap x1 Slammer x1 Colossus x1 Detonator x1 Storm In A Teacup x1 Quantum x1 X x1 Total: 27 with minimal queues under 5 minutes pretty much most of the day except main coasters in the first few hours before they added more trains, could have done so much more, but had a really enjoyable chilled day, amazing day to end the season, just gutted there's so long to wait now til february / march!
  9. I'm going to be singing it in my sleep...
  10. they played the thorpe park rangers song... T H O R P E, Thorpe Park Rangers so catchy
  11. Well I had been on it once before and that was a few months ago, and then done it 3 times today including what was apparently the last ride, but I'm sure staff had a cheeky go once everyone had gone! Shame to see it go in a way but parks need to move on and not be stuck in the past.
  12. what is a 'whoosher' sorry if it's obvious and I sounds stupid aha!
  13. Well after my most busiest year ever, especially theme parks, and with a new park, PortAventura to add... my top 10 has had a little reconsidering with PortAventura in mind, and the amount of time visiting other parks which worked out something like 1 a week aha - as before I won't include america as 2005 was too long ago, although SheiKra, Montu & The Incredible Hulk are the ones I remember and deserve a mention and if I go back to america sometime soon I would definitely not be surprised if all 3 and more appeared in my top 10 (rollercoasters)! My list is for rollercoasters, and although themeing making up the whole experience is great, I'm all about the thrills, well and fun! 1. Shambhala - Instantly became my favourite ride/rollercoaster ever, so much I racked up 20 rides in a weekend! 2. Nemesis - Loses the top spot to air time, but still an unbeleivable coaster and best in the UK 3. Nemesis Inferno - Don't get the hate for this ride... easily the most re-rideable of the coasters! 4. The Swarm - Was a little bit disappointed how tame it was back in 2012, started greying out on it once this year, can't be disappointed now! 5. The Smiler - Bit of a surprise for me, as I didn't really rate it much last year, but this year every time I ride it I seem to like it more and more! 6. Stealth - such a rush, the launch is crazy as well as the airtime at the top and back down! 7. TH13TEEN - shame it didn't meet the hype, and essentially we got a family coaster... but, well it's so much fun, and the drop on the back row, wow! 8. Rita - just an all round great ride really, holds the speed well. 9. Sonic Spinball /Dragons Fury - Can't decide which ones better, but they're the most fun on the list! Worth a mention for being so close, it was that hard to decide... Megafobia - Great solid ride, only good wooden coaster in the UK. Colossus - it's the restraints and leg space, well lack of (doesn't help I'm over 6ft and can get claustrophobic), otherwise would easily be in the list. Ben 10 - Such a fun little ride, and from the drop as it flattens out through the station (on the front row) is crazy!
  14. I just looked on their website... http://www.europapark.de/en/park/attractions-and-shows?attraction-category[]=87&age=120&body-height=220&adventure-level=All&season=111 if you click the 'opened in winter option' blue fire & silver star disappear and wodan is there, so looks like wodan is the only one of the big 3 open in the winter?
  15. ^^ if you call the display ok quality... Please tell me where you've watched better, as I am obsessed with fireworks and well Alton towers fireworks are the best thing I've ever watched! Admittedly last years was a little bit better, but really difficult to compare when they're so amazing!
  16. So after leaving at 4.45 this morning, eventually arrived at the resort at 2.15pm due to breaking down 2 hours into the journey to then wait to get towed home, but we didn't give up there, we packed everything into our other car and off we go again! In to the water park for a couple of hours which was pretty quiet and nice to see the outdoor slides open as they've been closed the last few years I've been. Then into a very quiet park although was apparent that it was getting busier in the leadup to the fireworks, plus the weather got better after the torrential rain and floods we battled in driving up. Biggest queue all afternoon/evening seemed to be about half hour. The fireworks certainly didn't fail to disappoint again, being my second year and absolutely loved it, my favourite firework display / show ever.
  17. Rollercoaster like Juvelen but indoors with doctor who themeing....? Haha
  18. I'm sure people have seen the website, but thought I'd say that it reads... This year sees no less than three roller coasters at Winter Wonderland including the exciting new Wilde Maus XXL
  19. Because that's family friendly...
  20. depends what day... I went friday last year, found the park with most queues (besides the smiler, and sonic) under 10 minutes all morning and lunch, and then increasingly got busier throughout the afternoon, and then queues increased to about an hour in the build up to the fireworks and then people started leaving after, so the last hour or so was relatively quiet again - I can imagine it being a considerable amount busier on the saturday and potentially sunday, that's why I'm visiting friday again this year, hope this helps
  21. am I right in saying the ride time is 2 minutes? so allow like a minute and a half for batching, loading and unloading... and what 20 cars a time? it does depend whether there's 2 in a dodgem or not... but I would say about 350 cars an hour?
  22. yeah but that ride although it's okay, certainly didn't feel like it was worth £5million! lot's of empty spaces and black sections, plus it already reused an old ride... £4.9million of that must have been on the IP haha! I'm just praying that the budget is used wisely for thorpes new ride as I'm not exactly excited for it, glad to hear others want this, but lets just hope we're not all disappointed at the end of it.
  23. I'm at least hoping for a rollercoaster style dark ride, rather than a slow moving car through a track like duel etc.
  24. My first visit to thorpe was in 2009, but presuming the high investment in the early to mid 2000s was to make it into the thrill park it is today, or was since their change of market... I agree it is missing dark rides, but it is annoying (don't forget everyone is entitled to their own opinion without who's right and who's wrong) that a big investment rollercoaster is apparently scrapped for next year to instead get a dark ride more family based due to their market change the year after. Now of course we don't have a clue what is going to be inside the warehouse (let's just presume it isn't going to be themed very well on the outside aha), and something like revenge of the mummy would be great, so we'll have to see, but I'd still rather a big coaster.
