pognoi got a reaction from JoshuaA in The SmilerFascinating, I never knew that the 446 bus could take you to thorpe park. I always nag my wife for caramel hob nobs but we're trying to save for the new merlin pass so we can play unlimited extra-ordinary golf. Lovely t-shirt, DMT is a personal favourite of mine. Stay safe!
Lots of love,

pognoi reacted to Coaster Lewis in The SmilerMy Dad is CEO of The Smiler shop and managed to leak some exclusive new merch for the 2021 season. He also managed to tell me that they are adding on ride DVD's! This will be a thrilling addition to the ride imo and something I would really very much enjoy watching at home with a nice big cup of Tetley Tea (who sponser the tea cup ride at the Thorpe Park Resort in Stains accsed by the 446 bus from the train station) and a few caramel hobnobs.

pognoi got a reaction from pluk in Six Flags New EnglandSuperman was extremely disappointing. Fantastic first drop, but thereafter it's an intamin big one, down to the colours..
Wicked Cyclone however, vomits, poops, pisses and ****s all over everything I've ridden. Extremely intense, amazing fun, unique and a decent length, this ride is utterly incredible. The rush on my legs lasted for about 4 hours after I got off. If all RMCs are like this, they are surely winners and the UK needs one desperately.
The joker 4D thingy looked even worse in person but was honestly really good fun. The rest of the park was very mundane and bland, but the good operations meant rerides were easily available, including 4 turns on back row wicked cyclone. Honestly so so fun.

pognoi reacted to Flipper in Pin BadgesIsn't that in effect what they do with Pop Badges though, especially nowadays? I'm pretty sure the questionable adults on the pop swap pages whom hold thousands of them complained that staff wouldn't swap their personal badges from outside the resort / charity badges that they purchased. Plus even I recall how much of a painful experience it was and that was a few years ago.
I remember having a parent hold up the entire operation of an AIR station because she refused to do a badge swap at the exit gate exclaiming that if I left her I'd walk away and she wouldn't get her swap. I also remember being shouted at for refusing pin swaps of pins like my Allstars badge at Thorpe and Merlin Way badges - which were earned and personal for me and in no way under a policy to be swapped.
Whilst I'd love it to be like Disney; I just think it's got a long way to go before that happens, both on what the park supply to staff; and how parents adults people guests interact to get them.

pognoi reacted to Marc in Wicker ManAs mentioned - I don't think this is going to be themed around the wickerman movie - it's just using its name.
Think it's logo actually looks quite nice - looking forward to seeing how the theme actually plays out.

pognoi reacted to Flipper in Fright Nights 2017Think my last comment got misunderstood by a few but since its now a page back I'm just gonna move right on past that...
This for me is why I've never done a BIA. Whilst I am glad to hear its not like that so much anymore/hasn't been like that; despite my desire to try a BIA just for the sheer rush of doing a maze solo (which would be a personal achievement to me) I was always off-put by this whole concept of people being stripped down, and covered in god-knows-what whilst walking out with bruising etc. For me (personally, and I know, and appreciate people disagree and enjoy the above) a BIA is about having an intense maze experience where you can't cower or hide behind someone else; where nobody else is interrupting your experience. I recall a couple of years ago at the end of a night being grabbed in Cabin and having an actor sit onto of me on the bed and then leaving me to experience the maze solo - similar to the experience Sub Species offers; thats more what I expect from a BIA; not, not this weird sexual tormenting idea that I've always perceived of it.

pognoi reacted to Matt 236 in Chessington General DiscussionIf you want to ride Dragon Falls and Peeking Heights before the area retheme, you will need to be quick as both will be closing on Sunday 10th September.
Falls will eventually reopen next year as Tiger Falls, however Peeking Heights will be going extinct

pognoi reacted to Benin in The Big Bad Movie TopicThe VVitch is one of the most over-rated pieces of boring tosh I've had the misfortune to see... Can someone who loves it please actually go into some actual depth of their own opinion as to why it's so good?

pognoi reacted to JoshC. in Chessington Howl'o'weenI had a brief browse of the Facebook pages and missed that post completely, hence my scepticism!
But yes, certainly gives off a darker tone than any other Chessington attraction I can remember. Not sure that they attract enough people interested in 'scary scary' mazes to warrant an attraction, so it'll be interesting to see what they're doing.

pognoi reacted to SteveJ in Wicker ManI think the Smiler's planning application only masked the extra inversions to keep the world record a secret a bit longer. No one knows what it's like to ride until it opens, but still gives an accurate ballpark impression I suppose for people who can 'read' coaster plans.
I fink it will be a bit better than people are expecting but no where near what could've been. Not the wooden coaster Alton Towers needed but a beefing out of the coaster line up beyond just 1 minute steel coasters. We have a 1 minute wooden coaster now too!
Generally planning applications must show exactly what the park intend to build structure-wise. Details and aesthetics, not so much depending on the area it falls in. A Mid Term plan is just a forecast and will see many changes, but the project's final planning application will be accurate except under certain circumstances (like Smiler's redesigned pits and walkways, which was caused by incorrect planning and didn't need to be resubmitted presumably because of the GDO)

pognoi got a reaction from Cian in Wicker ManHave people forgotten how massively towers can alter the layouts of rides from the MTDP to when it's being genuinely constructed? Like seriously, we were literally trolled by the smiler. Have you forgotten that all? Heights, banking, and even some elements can all be altered when being constructed. Whilst the concept does look lack luster there are already signs on the construction site that elements will be different to what we previously could expect..

pognoi reacted to Marc in 2017 Season General DiscussionDBGT is the parks newest large investment- it had a wait time of 2 hours - I'm sure the vast majority of guests woukd disagree!
You visit what you describe as a "dire" theme park almost once a month - I would.
