Because I want to be in the top 5</3
-
Cameron's playing so I definitely won't be first, but hey I'll try.
-
If you live rather close to Thorpe, like some of the members here, you'd probably manage to get your money's worth. But I genuinely don't see the appeal in visiting the same event at the same place several weekends in a row.

Kind of works the same as a Standard MAP holder upgrading to a Premium. You just get fastrack. EDIT: What Benin said, kind of.
-
Well it obviously won't. It'd be just like watching a POV, but a bit more 'trippy' if you will. Like pluk said it'd be more suited in a place like a museum than an actual theme park. The whole idea of virtually riding a ride when the real thing is about 100m that way seems a bit ridiculous and would be a complete waste of money for whatever park invests in it. Although if you're happy to pay the sometimes extortionate entrance fees and then not even truly experience the park to use VR, that's your problem.

Something I just want to query/kind of put out there. Whenever I go on chat, I always open it in a new window- but this is a lot of faffing about. Once it opens in a new window, I have to 'accept' the terms again, but then I have to click 'Send Message' for it to essentially refreshand reload the page meaning I have to scroll down and accept again(I don't have to scrolldown the first time due to the size/calibration of the page). I was more or less wondering if it happens to anyone else who uses chat? I'm not asking for it to be sorted or looked in to either, as it's only a minor inconvenience

They were all open in June to the best of my knowledge. However, as far as I could see, all of the seats at the far end were closed off on Thursday on the right atleast and I'm assuming it was the same or similar case with the left side due to balancing etc.

Given what it's about, I have a feeling that there will be a different, higher age restriction for this- or atleast more prominent pre-maze warnings. I wonder whether the map will gain a bit of life during Fright Nights.

Looks as corporate as their rebranding. Rather mysterious and omnious-looking though! Using the Director is a pretty good move though. Exciting stuff.

I like how this has kind of been chucked at us rather suddenly instead of dragging it on as with The Passing- mainly due to the fact I have no patience. Also, I noticed the definition of a 'snuff film'; way to counter the change in market Thorpe! Interested in seeing the confirmation and getting a better idea of what'd be instore though.

Bipolar Sunshine are fabulous- I envy you for seeing them live!

Banned for having red in your signature, that's rude.

I'd get a 10ft drop tower (not too fussy about the manufacturer), put it in the dark and call it anti-climactal.
-
There's also a scare attraction thing down by me as of last year, the reviews I've read seem pretty good- but it's only something you can do for an evening really. Still, scare mazes aren't exclusive to theme parks and the like. Guess being in a theme park adds to the experience, that's about it.

I actually had a pretty decent cycle on swing A on Thursday. Still short as anything though
-
Thank you! I think that you should receive a wristband or something if you're actually interested in going into to mazes and have paid for that 'perk' etc. one of the main reasons I actually go to FN is for the rides in the dark and I'd imagine there'd still have to be a bit of a charge like with summer nights, but I think there should be different 'packages' or something. Couldn't see something like that being executed very well though.

With regards to lap bars on Rush and Slammer, I feel the need to have them pretty tight but when they're too tight it gets awfully painful for me and I often find myself asking the host to undo my restraint again (not to be awkward- just that I have bruised my hips before as a result of pushing the restraints a bit too far down!) Got some pretty decent airtime on Rush on thursday though.
-
It does take advantage of the fact that not many poeple will know THAT much in advance and as an AP holder, your visit could be a bit more 'impulsive' than someone who'd have to buy a day ticket etc. Considering I don't actually plan on going in many of the mazes, if I don't know what date I'll be going for definite before October, I'll probably be giving FN a miss and heading for Chessington. Also, remember that extra charge for The Passing- could we see that this year for the new attraction?

Peaj did write a post about that Tom as I'm sure you know

I'm sorry Jason but I disagree. Personally- being rather claustrophobic- I'd hate the idea of actually being trapped in the restraints for an unknown amount of time (even thought I don't often trust restraints) so if I was to get stuck on a ride due to a restraint fail and there was quite a bit of uncertainty as to whether I could be stuck there for 5 minutes or 50 minutes, I would start to panic. But that's just me of course, I understand others would respond differently. But I can see why being stuck in the restraints could be a bit of an issue for people, bar the general inconvenience etc. etc.

SAW broke down this morning. Was stuck in the station for about ten minutes before they sent off two cars so we could be let out. God the restraints get uncomfortable. It was only down for about half an hour or 45 minutes tops though, haven't a clue what it was.

I just found this topic so I thought I'd chip in No matter what anyone else says, as an enthusiast, you are NOT expected to know everything about theme parks and know of all theme parks, rides, manufacturers etc. so please don't listen or take it to heart when people mock you for not knowing a certain thing (although, as you have joined TPM, I would imagine that you possess a certain level of theme park knowledge anyway, but if not- we all had to start somewhere!) Don't be afraid to pop into chat if you see someone in there- I promise it'll be the best thng to happen to you! Many of the people here are very friendly and lovely but be weary of any arising conflict and know when to stop- I've read arguments or 'debates' in which things got a bit heated and personal, not nice. Don't be afraid to have an opinion, conformity gets boring. Just watch your wording; misinterpretation is a fine thing.

I was scared of escalators (or 'the moving stairs'), then I was scared of lifts, then I was scared of escalators again but now I'm okay I think. I get on them just fine.
