The operator would switch the lights off (switch in the console) and I believe to not play the launch audio they'd use the mic to override it. 
 
They've stopped doing these now thankfully. They were good fun a good few years ago, but when the word got spread and people were asking for them every other launch they got very boring.

I rode it for the first time yesterday, it was boring and I hated it and there was nothing scary about it

My most relaxed would have to be Dollywood Or Cedar point (I visited both for multiple days and they were not busy at all.)
and most stresful would have to be Six flags over texas when it was packed packed.
 
but sadly with towers short opening hours even an off peak day feels like a rush to do everything. It sucks. such a big park and still 4pm closes? It's been going on for years and its an absolute joke, even in May/June time. Like why?

I had one of those 'red burgers' and the chicken inside was about 3 inches long, had to ask for a new one 2 more times, the bun was 5x the the size of theh chicken inside haha

Had a banger of a visit to Energylandia last Tuesday + Wednesday, park was busy, all the coasters open on 1 train but a second is added within half an hour of park opening. Not once did I ever see Zadra stack a train in the breakrun.
 
average queue time was around 15 minutes because of rapid operations, much improved over my last visit where everything was 1 train.
 
Some highlights:
Zadra is a monster of a coaster.
Abysuss is very fun
Park is always clean
Lovely vibe with music everywhere.
Food is genreally pretty good (avoid the 'chick' place in the dragon area though.
Park hours were extended on both days.
 
Lowlights:
Polish queue jumpers. Oh so many.
Hyperion was no longer enjoyable for me. the rattle is awful and it feels very potholey-
 
 

I mean, I went to thorpe around early may and everything was walk on. so, to say there has been no off peak days is kind of miffed

I've been on off peak days a couple times this season and rush had always been on double swings 

I have to agree. Had a fantastic time and I said the same, well at least my most enjoyable visit over the last 6 or so years. Great atmosphere, great staff and as well as that the audio improvements have made a huge difference.

Visited on thursday for a last minute trip, was really impressed honestly, everything on two trains, saw was closed at the start of the day but opened around 12, seems to be iffy with being open and closed this season, Did everything multiple times and then left around 2pm as I actually got bored! Overall probably best time ive had at thorpe in the past 10 years ive been going

On Friday, everything remained open till 9 with the exception of Thirteen, Smiler and Wickerman as they all had queues. Them 3 rides showed as 'queue at capacity' on the app. 
 
On Sunday all rides on the app / queue line entrances showed as closed from around half 8, however they were still letting us get in queue lines right up until 9. I assume the rides with queues however did close the queues early again.

Yep, the general rule is that parks are encouraging social distancing between different groups of people. So within in your group (ie - household), you can stand as close as you like to each, sit together on rides, etc.
 
Anyone outside your group, you have to maintain the 1.5m / 6ft / 2m (depending on country) distance and you should be sat away from them on any rides.

Judging by what other parks are doing groups are being kept together. So you'll be sitting with each other.

with this statement it would seem like every single ride with restraints would be closed then? cosnidering the staff lean over the train to check restraints ect?

More chance of the ride being demolished than anything else being done to it tbh 

Running a dire setting the past weekend, ride lasted about 30 seconds, 2 full rotations either way with the arm spinning the opposite direction, barely any flips 😞 

I went last week, it's 2.60€ each way and you pay the driver. You can find the times on the DB Navigator app.
