Smidget
Hmm, I'm seeing some similarities in these lists... Anywoodles, this is a nice idea for a thread! Mine aren't in any particular order. Some I'd like to do before I'm 30, some are just general things. I've been cheeky and edited this post to basically copy Josh, except the ones in teal are "soon to be completed" rather than actually done. 1) Finish my degree, preferably with a 1st! 2) Learn to drive (will be doing that this year - I've delayed it enough!) 3) Become a Forensic Psychologist 4) Revisit DLP 4) Do all of the major European parks at least once (Ticking off PortAventura this year) 5) Florida! (Roll on 2014!) 6) Do the West Coast of America (Vegaaaaas baby!) 7) Visit Africa (Egypt is a must!) 8) Visit Australia and/or New Zealand 9) Get married 10) Start a family 11) Learn to swim (LOL) 12) Visit New York 13) Go to Cedar Point 14) Get another tattoo (likely to be after I've had kids) 15) Move into a place of my own (student accommodation doesn't count) 16) Swim with dolphins 17) Get a Masters in Forensic or Clinical Psychology 18) Overcome my irrational fear of spiders 19) Give blood 20) Become an organ donor 21) View the Northern Lights 22) Own a pet snake (although IanNem ain't too hot on this...) I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I'm sure I'll add more at another time. James & Co. and EC!
JoshC.
Here's mine, just a general one for life, not to be finished by any particular age, and in no particular order. Ones in red are ones I've done which were in my bucket list... 1) Get married. 2) Have kids (traditional values much?!). 3) Pass my degree (with a first hopefully) and possibly get a PhD (in Maths). 4) Sky dive. 5) Bungee jump. 6) European tour of theme parks. 7) Visit a few theme parks in Asia and America. 8) Ride at least 200 coasters ('cause I'm a credit-seeking enthusiast deep down ) 9) Give blood (despite the fact I'm PETRIFIED of needles and hate blood tests...) 10) Run (in the loosest sense of the word) the London Marathon. 11) Be able to swim (don't worry Smidget, you ain't the only one! ) 12) Be mentioned in a National Newspaper. 13) Appear on TV (even if I have to be one of those annoying people in waves in the background when news reporters are reporting stuffs). 14) Publish a book (probably a novella or a Popular Science book akin to Ian Stewart's Mathsy ones). That seems to be a rather exhaustive list of what I want to do. May not seem a lot compared to others in length, but I guess some of them will be lengthy time-wise, and in saving up the money to do so! Like others, I may add more if I think of them.. EmilyLovesVortex
you've really given me something to think about: so see what I can come up with I suppose: 1. go to the races (horse racing) 2. own a bird- parot, budgie, etc 3. go to las vegas 4. meet torie amos (possible I suppose!) 5. visit the shard 6. ride the london eye in the dark 7. watch the movie silver lining's playbook that's all I can come up with right now actually James & Co.
Mer
Ooh fun topic! In no particular order (apart from the first few being priorities) and by no age: 1) Become better and stronger mentally/emotionally. I'm finally getting the help I need with certain things so hopefully this will be the starting point 2) Have a successful career either working with animals or children with special needs 3) Meet that special someone and get married, preferably staying with them for the rest of my life and not divorcing! 4) Have children (mini Mers...the stuff of nightmares ) and do my absolute best for them. 5) Go to the other Disney parks (including returning to Paris), my priority being Florida! 6) Visit as many theme parks as possible! Can't really pinpoint any specific ones 7) Go skiing again 8) Raise money for the following charities: Cancer Research, Cats Protection and National Autistic Society 9) Own a house 10) Own a Maine Coon cat (or 2) And a ragdoll...and maybe a Bengal 11) Write a book I've always had a flare for creative writing but also feel like writing about my own experiences, given I've been through a lot! Or something that could be useful for people with/parents of children with problems I've experienced, particularly girls as there needs to be more awareness of how these things affect them so differently from boys. I could combine that, diary entries and my creativity and sense of humour! It's something I've thought about for a while but never properly sat down and planned 12) Learn to drive (once number 1 is well under way and when I have a full time job!) 13) Do something to help animal conservation, particularly for tigers 14) Return to the Caribbean 15) Skydive (this seems quite popular) 16) Take my future children to DisneyWorld! Probably something loads of parents say; but because I almost went as a child, after years of being promised that we would go, then it was cancelled due to my parents splitting up, I want to make sure I give my children that dream holiday that I didn't have 17) Give blood. I've had numerous blood tests and given some for research purposes before (no idea how much exactly but it was quite a bit!) so at least I'll be used to the feeling etc. 18) Learn to cook That's all I can think of for now! Mitchada04
It would be nice to complete this before I'm 30 but if not, before death will do. Here we go then (in no specific order). 1. AJ
At the start of the year I would of had lots of things to add to my bucket list. pluk
I'm already 30, so before I die I guess! In no particular order, except for the first one. - Have a family. A long and depressing story so far. - Visit Tokyo DisneySea. - Learn to speak French proper like. - Skydive. - Get, and stay, fit. - Produce some house music worthy of release. - Build a rental property portfolio. - Keep some chickens. - Own/timeshare somewhere I can ski from every year. - Do a full on American roadtrip, which may well take in many amusement parks. The older you get the more you realise you have to go out and get these things for yourself, no one is going to make it happen for you! It is just depressing when the thing you want most you can't have and there seems to be nothing you can do about it. Take nothing in life for granted! Mer
7) Have no more than 4 kids (Not 4 by the time I'm 30 but would hope to of had my first one) Aww little Peajlings Apart from myself, you're one of the few people I know that have said you want that many children. So many people I know either say "No way am I ever having kids!" or that they'll only have 1 or 2. Nor that there's anything wrong with that of course, just something I've noticed James & Co. and EC!

Luke_A
What a great topic! Here goes 10 of mine... 1.) Succeed with my A-Levels and either get an apprenticeship in the railway industry or go onto Uni. Since about the later side of me being 14 I have always had an interest in the railways of Britain and could see myself thoroughly enjoying a career in this sector, if the sky is the limit I'd love to be a train driver / operator, yes I love working with people too but I'm very good with my own company and would adore a job like this. Yes, call me a nerd, but this is a theme park forum we're on... 2.) Travel to the USA to visit New York City, this may happen as soon as February next year as I have a trip there with Sixth Form! It's still in the confirmation process though. 3.) (something most people seem to have..!) Meet that 'special someone' and move away somewhere nearer to London. I've lived in the same town all my life and I just want to move. Doesn't have to happen soon though. More important things to sort out first. 4.) Ride all 22 types of ride of which KMG manufacture. Yes, again, very nerdy I know, but I'm mad & CRAVE for these sorts of thrill machines ok? I'm not even 1/2 way there yet. Need to get to Germany & the Netherlands. 5.) Go on a trip around some of Europe's finest theme parks with some fellow enthusiasts. 6.) See Hardwell & Laidback Luke live. - My top two single DJ's. 7.) Go to Ultra Music Festival, Miami; for the whole 2 weekends. That festival is 100% my idea of heaven. 8.) Participate in something similar to Coasting for Kids at the Cedar Fair parks. I think it's something our parks here in the UK should do. Riding roller coasters for long periods of time all in the name of charity? It's an awesome idea!! 9.) Learn to drive. It's all about the freedom for me! 10.) Visit the Netherlands, of course without having ever been before I can't judge this yet but if I ever did move to Europe this looks to be the place. It's a country which for many reasons has always captivated me as being a generally nice place to go. - It's the home of most house / dutch electronic music. - Same-sex marriage has been legal since 2001. - The country has what seems to be a near perfect set up of government / welfare system, education system, and most people speak both Dutch as well as English let alone any extra languages! - The people seem so incredibly friendly in general. So laid back and accepting of everyone no matter what makes you different. - They have an incredible funfair / Kermis culture. I probably have more... But overall I would just generally love to travel, do well in life, take up the city lifestyle, meet great people... And take any opportunity I have to do anything which I enjoy if the chance comes up! James & Co., Smidget and Mer
Mark9
8.) Participate in something similar to Coasting for Kids at the Cedar Fair parks. I think it's something our parks here in the UK should do. Riding roller coasters for long periods of time all in the name of charity? It's an awesome idea!! My friend James and I rode Loggers Leap for 7 hours in 2004. If you get in contact with the park they can advise you on what rides they will let you do it on and so forth. It's good for the parks as they get publicity and what with it being for charity, everybody wins. - Visit Tokyo DisneySea. Anyone in their right mind who likes theme parks should be aiming to go here.
