Harry
Talk about anything to do with Tidal Wave here. I noticed there isn't really big queue's for Tidal Wave anymore exspecily for Winter. Isit due to people don't want to get wet or just not worth it?
humjosh
I went on one of the days when loads of school trips were there, and the queue structure for Tidal Wave was full, and actually overflowing! But me and my mate had a priority pass, so we got on it instantly! One of the best feelings ever. Coaster
Daniel
Tidal Wave is a ride which I really enjoy going on, especially on hot days when you just need a great soaking. Coaster

I'd only go on it in the summer as the soaking is too much. Even in the summer it's a bit too wet but I love the view of Detonator and Stealth. Con
I've been on it 3 times. The first 2 times I regretted it so much! But the third time (same weather conditions) I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't queue for ages for it but when I go the queue is usually small.

I used to love Tidal Wave; it was my first ride ever at Thorpe. Now I just find it a waste of time. Especially queuing.
Daniel
I have been on Tidal Wave 21 times and now I dont like it because of beening soaked for the rest of the day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why bother going on the ride then if you know you are going to be 'soaking' for the rest of the day. Tip for Tidal Wave: When going on it don't wear Jeans, as they will take a very long time to dry out.
Marc
I like tidal wave, it gets me wet... and if you don't want to get wet, the ponchos are so cool!
DPJ14
I remember going to Thorpe with a bunch of mates in May. It was a horrible day and really wet, so we thought we couldn’t get any wetter. It wasn’t until I was covered by the massive wave that I found out I was wrong. So afterwards, I went and dried my hair off on stealth (cheaper then the Amity dryers).
iCharlie
Tidal wave is good fun, in any type of weather! (Depends how crazy you are) I think the overall ride and theming of it is great, a great asset to Thorpe Park.
Pickles
It's not good to go on in the winter, I did and I caught a cold for a while after that. Was fun though.
Marc
My best goes on Tidal Wave were 2004 fright nights, got to stay on 5 times with out getting off, couldn't do that on any other ride.
Clara
To be completely honest I wouldn't really actually want to with Tidal wave anyways... Plus its cold on Fright Nights, I'm not sure if people are quite sane enough Marc!
Marc
Well I wasn't the only one in the boat who stayed on.. I had a few goes on Samurai afterwards which kinda dryed me off!
Sheepie
I love Tidal Wave in the cold. Guess that makes me insane. I used to refuse to wear those Macs, as I look like a spaz in them, but now, I think "oh well, I am a spaz" so I just wear them anyway.God I do talk some rubbish sometimes. But yeah, Tidal Wave is awesome, used to be even better, before they ruined it. Mark9
Tidal Wave is Thorpe's second greatest asset. Anyone wants to argue with its popularity then I dare you to queue for it during the summer.
Cringle
hah. me and mark9:3 re-rides at night, April on the be discovered nights.5 re-rides at night, August on the summer sessions nights.so basically phneumonia. I have had freezing cold water in places I didn't know existed. But actually so much fun.
Loz
I queued up for Tidal Wave for 30 minutes. I arrived in the station to find out it has broken down! Anyone else experienced this?
Sheepie
Well I must admit, I've not experienced the scenario that you described, but there was one instance where I went on it in the rain. It was cold, wet (this was in August) and just unpleasant really- but still fun.Anyway, we're just about to get into the station, and the thing decides it wants to break down. There I am, at the back of the boat, stuck in the rain: cold. Bleak. Soggy. It was great. Lol.
iCharlie
The water towards the end of the season started to get dirty on tidal, I thought they replaced it all the time due to constant loss of water?
Cringle
Its not the water thats dirty - its the actual pool. Unless the filters stopped working but thats part of the pool filling system so it would have had to be fixed.

Sheepie
Well said!I think the worst bit about the re- theme for me was the re-paint of the boats, the "splash zone" thingy, the painting of the bridge, oh yeah, and not to mention the destruction of the queueline. So that covers most of it then. The thing is, perhaps it would be forgiven a little if some of the old effects were working again. I know they get the church organ going but that's it. I haven't seen the water tower work in ages, the gas ball hasn't worked for years (obvious reasons) and although I personally have never seen the telegraph poles "spark" it seems that that hasn't worked for years also.It would be nice if they sorted out the entrance lighting too for summer evenings and Fright Nights. After all, we've had the sponsor, but as of yet we haven't seen any added theming. Something for this season?Who knows...(and no jokes about "Thorpe Park know")
