Introduce Yourself

Hello all.

Oh, and a special mention to Mark9 (who will know who I am if he thinks hard!), since it was his Florida trip report that I stumbled across that almost single handedly got me back 'into' theme parks - I'm now desperate to get back to Orlando (though whether this will happen is another matter entirely).

I'm incredibly flattered by this, as I questioned why I was writing trip reports for a while. To know that someone has come back into theme parks after reading my reports.. well as I say it's incredibly flattering. I do remember you coincidentally, welcome back to the fray. :D

Hey folks, I dont think I ever got to this topic before, so desite having my account for some time I may aswell contribute here, I've been about daily for a while, and the looks set to continue so here goes!

Real name's Ashley, Ash will do though, I'm the former mod on PBE (but we wont go into all that) lol I may have bumped into a few of you at your ERT on Swarm last year, some of you may have seen me before over at PBE too. Those that dont know me I'm 28 (feels more like 68 these days!) and I'm into just about every coaster in the country, my fav at Thorpe is an award thats shared between Stealth and Inferno, however I cant think of a bad coaster there.

I usually only manage 3-4 visits to TP a year, thats the problem with being a northerner lol.

Despite the name, I dont bite...honist ;)

I'd also like to take this oppertunity to thank your site team/facebook team for helping me sort my account out a few weeks ago.

Ash

I'm surprised I haven't introduced my self yet, I have been on this forum since last April :D. I'm Ethan I am 16, I am a born and bred Cardiffian (Cardiff for any confused people), I go to st Teilo's high and I am in year 11 and I have almost finished my GCSE'S, BOOM. My hobbies are anything to do with Formula 1, roller coasters, cars, and dogs. My local themepark Oakwood is over an hour away so I go anywhere I can! My first TPM meet is gonna be next week and I'm buzzin. So that's a little about me :)

I think it's time I introduce myself. My names Matt (Matthew) and I have been a member of TPM properly since march 2013. Although I actually joined late 2011, I somewhat lost access to my account after a few posts (mainly about the CCR) and then decided to join up again under my original account following the news of Logger's shocking tunnel removal.

I've been strongly interested in theme parks and the like since I was around three and regularly visited Thorpe & Lego land which I thoroughly enjoyed each time I went. Many years later and I'm still heavily interested in theme parks and other attractions and visiting other parks such as Chessie , Alton Towers and Adventure Island.

The are still many parks I wish to visit around the world including Disney Land, Europa Park and loads more.

Other than themeparks, my main interest is in Music and play Piano, Drums & Oboe and hope to learn more instruments in the future. I enjoy playing a series of different styles as well as being involved in several music jobs and opportunities when I'm not riding roller coasters and the like. I'm also hoping to learn several pieces of music used in various themeparks too.

Thanks for reading.

Hi, my names Dorrel and I'm 22 . I've been reading this website for years now but rarely feel confident enough to actually post. I will however make more of an effort from now on!

I've been into theme parks since I was a toddler and my parents used to take me to Thorpe Park once a year and I would cry when they would tell me It was time to go home haha. It was only in 2011 that my boyfriend booked a trip for us to Disneyland Paris that I actually went to a theme park abroad and it turned out to be the best time of my life :D. Since then I have been back once and decided that The Tower Of Terror is the best ride I have ever been on, and will probably make a yearly trip back there. The next park I would like to visit is Europa Park because it looks beautiful and the rides look amazing too! The theme park I go to the most is Chessington because my boyfriend lives within about 5 minutes walking distance, but I normally leave within about 2 hours because its either too busy or too empty to make a day of it lol

Other than theme parks my main hobbies are going to the cinema and theatre (The best show I've seen is Priscilla Queen Of The Desert).

I don't think I've ever posted in this thread either, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thought it was about time to do a post here.

My name's Alex and I'm a uni student. I've been fascinated by the theme park industry ever since I was a small child. It all started when I was about 5 years old, I was crying because I didn't want to go on Dragon River (at the time). After queuing for hours it then broke down on us on the first lift hill. We were then escorted off and my parents weren't best pleased to say the least. ;)

Other than my interest in theme parks, roller coasters and such, music is a massive aspect of my life.

hello my name is emily, and I'm 25 and live in the UK

my interests are:

music (most types, I'm very easy going!)

movies (mainly drama and true stories) with the odd disney movie thrown in

video games (I have an XBOX 360) and I like to play on that

and of course theme parks- which I actually don't get too much.. I've been bipolar since a young age, and up until recently everything was kind of stable... but an episode years ago left me wheelchairb bound for life..... I don't talk about it much- it's changed my life completely and requires someone to support me round the clock 24 7. so in a way, I'll admit... I'm embarrassed to be on here- it's been ages since I've been to a theme park and loads has probably changed... so I'll run out of things to talk about- but I'll tell you exactly why I joined:

I joined mainly to share my memories of atractions, and also perhaps slot in where I can with current topics if I can... I am sorry that I won't post much:(. hope I'm welcome?

ride wise, well, my best ride is and always will be, vortex. I couldn't get away from thorpe without least 5 rides on the vortex in 1 day?. yep..... 5, each time enjoying it more andm ore, and each time putting my hands up on the air as if to say.. wooo.. look at me I'm on vortex. lol

other rides I enjoy at thorpe park are, well... I liked the canada creek railway- but was gutted to here it had closed. I actually used my time on the canada creek railway more to relax, not to spot bears lol

I also liked the 4d shows.. pirates what ever it is, and time voyagers- time voyagers was put together so well

I don't like water rides... actually hate getting wet. hate it. I did rumba rappids once, but the only reason I did it was because well... because the theme tune got stuck in my head and I wanted to just ride it, or something like that lol

I don't really do coasters either, though I did get persuaded by some park guests to ride inferno and Colossus.. both of which I probably would never do again

chessington wise, I've always liked rattlesnake. don't ask me why.... I just think it's awsome. you get such a rush from riding it

um, I actually think I've tried all the rides at chessington at least once.. finding it hard to think of something I've not been on. ah yeah, well- I never did the bumper cars at beano land because fair or theme park what ever, I don't like bumpercars

their was a time where we went to butlins in bogna and I almost fell out the car... it's put me off

I'm trying to think of the last time I went to either theme park:

last time I went to thorpe was, I think either the end of 2011 or the start of 2012..... I actually think it must have been like august or september of 2011, because they had not started advertising fright nights

as for chessington, last time I went... well quite recently actually. their was this big thing about what happened on toom blaster with the girl falling and I was their for that... so 2012 for certain

this year, I'm hoping to visit both at least once (and get my 5 rides on vortex)

how is everyone?

Hi! You probably don't remember me but my name is Alex, I used to come on chat every now and then but often felt like I wasn't sure what to say, although I've had a lot more general theme park experience now and hope to be able to add valid points to topics, and get on well with people in chat! Cheers! :D
