JoshC.
I think you're reading too much into it - for marketing purposes, they'll of course focus on the big rides that you can ride at night. They're not going to advertise how you can ride Toadies in the evening now, are they? Kerfuffle
Benin
Toadies doesn't open after dusk anyway, much like Skyway... Â Reading too much into it, might as well say the same about Thorpe or Towers when their marketing only focuses on certain rides... CWOAfanMalcolm
The only things that will shut at dusk will be toadies Canopy capers Skyway the zoo lorikeet lagoon and I think flying jumbos closes for the darkness As well
Matt 236
Zufari, Skyway, toadies, Jumbos, Canopy Capers & the zoo close at dusk (based on previous years). Everything else should be open, including all coasters, water, flat & dark rides (hoping Rattles is finally open (whys it been closed so long in the first place?)). Rides that close at dusk are generally either to do with insufficient lighting or added complications in the off chance of an evac I believe. HermanTheGerman
Rattlesnake is closed because Merlin have upped their procedures regarding manual operation. It's causing issues with the ride because it's so old that the operator actually has a fair bit of control... JoshC.
CWOAfanMalcolm
I remember being Evaced from toadies one Halloween just before dusk (Fun times) on a serious note What If they shut The ride shutdown And People were trapped and couldn't be rescued until It actuallly got dark no it's not an issue on Toadies but on other rides such as skyway could it be more of a problem
Benin
Rattlesnake is closed because Merlin have upped their procedures regarding manual operation. It's causing issues with the ride because it's so old that the operator actually has a fair bit of control... Â And mostly because they've realised that the current levels of evacuation aren't actually up to the right standard... Â Don't know if they have the budget for catwalks on the final brake run... HermanTheGerman
My favourite thing about Rattlesnake's evac platforms is the newly installed scaffolding catwalk. Must've realised how poorly it worked on other rides and thought it was a good idea...
yeah
Guys, we've posted a lot of the Facebook posts about Curse right now, but what I found really interesting was on the CWOA Instagram page the picture they posted with a skull and cross bones and writing engraved into a wall such as "Turn Back" and "Don't go in"
OldFarmerDean
yeah I seen that, I am hoping it is a good replacement of the vampire haunting one... as I absolutely loved that, and it was genuinely terrifying in places, fitted very well as a bridge the gap between that and thorpes gory horror mazes. Â Also gutted that the amazing version of hocus pocus from the least couple of years isn't returning... I wonder if it will go back to the hocus pocus hall it was in previous halloweens, the same as the basic hocus pocus with glasses, just with some actors in the different scenes? although I swear that was advertised as an attraction previously... so would be a poor show if they didn't have a few actors in it... yeah
TraX
Hocus Pocus Hall Bewitched is not returning, nor is The Mystery of Hocus Pocus Hall either. Both were created and operated in house, as was The Vampire Hollows, plus the Matket Square shows/Boo etc. It's obviously far easier for the park to get Scruffy Dog to do their only maze, so they can concentrate on their ONE attraction, Trick or Treat Wood. I'm looking forward to see how it pans out, as sacrificing the 2 mazes and a market square show, means they can put all that energy and resources on the only in house attraction. How could it fail.. Merry-go-girl
No Market Square show? But that set them apart as a youth focused attraction, I always respected the added effort they put in for young fans who want to enjoy spooky season too.
JoshuaA
I guess Howl'o'ween this year is gonna be exactly like the park. disapointing..

JoshuaA
I was going to go...Then Haunting in the Hallows got scrapped..
Ian-S
We'll go but only cos it's 10 minutes up the roadnd free entry (MAP), without a MAP I wouldn't make a special trip.
Merry-go-girl
Cool cool, I was worried there'd be no reviews this year.
Morgan.B
It is disappointing HitH won't be returning, I only did it once and fell in love with it. JoshuaA
OldFarmerDean
If the lighting on the rides isn't any good... Then I'm going to be so annoyed! Get rid of the best maze... And then the redeeming factor of the park having the best night time lighting of the park in previous years...
Merry-go-girl
Hey, at least HitH will never suffer the fate of becoming stale and sub-par. Let's just hope Trick or Treat Wood is as atmospheric as it has the potential to be. pognoi
JoshuaA
I guess they can put there resources into Trick Or Treat Wood and Curse Of The Lost Tomb. And hopefully the lighting isn't just floodlights..
Morgan.B
I do fear that this year's attractions aren't going to be very good for some reason, and now we don't have HitH to do if we don't like the others.
SteveJ
They're not concentrating any of their resources really, as the Curse is being built by an external studio. The same that did Big Top at Thorpe Park. This means it will likely be up to a much higher standard of scenic design. But the whole thing is something of an admittance that the park's own teams are unable or unwilling to challenge themselves this year. JoshuaA
I guess then HITH was scrapped for budget cut reasons then, or something on the lines of that. It's a shame, I actually thought the event was better than FN. Maybe if things pick up next year they can add a 3 attraction? pognoi
