June 8Jun 8 comment_325756 Certainly interesting seeing the amount of people saying its rough/rattly now. I do wonder if the wheel changes are a permanent solution to the valleying or if its just a temporary fix whilst a long term solution is figured out?
June 21Jun 21 comment_325995 Something has definitely changed since my last ride back in April. There is a noticable rattle from the bottom of the first drop to the 'splash down' element. It seems to be moving through the elements faster than it did previously. Hopefully it's a short term experiment to prevent stalls. There's no way that a one year old coaster should be riding so poorly. I feel for Thorpe as they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wonder if ordering a third train would be worth it. I'm sure there is not enough space for it in the maintenance bay but it could be kept in the station instead. With a third train they won't need to rely on one train operation while the second is built back up in the event of a stall. I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before that using water dummies for every breakdown is not a possibility. Mack should really front the cost as this is their mess after all.
June 22Jun 22 Author comment_326023 Rode it twice today. Dunno what all this discourse is about it being rough. It's fine. There are vibrations present, and you can notably see the train shift during the stall. But it doesn't negatively affect the ride experience for me. There are significantly worse rides out there, even in the park itself. I will say it is more vibratey than say this time last year though, and it does make me fear for how the ride will age. But yeah, for now, I'd love to ride it with someone who is calling this rough and see what on earth is going on. Because if that's rough, then....
June 23Jun 23 comment_326031 Sounds like the discourse over Nemmie Rebs atm. Saturday didn’t feel much in the way of roughness at all. Way people go on about it makes it sound like riding an old school Vekoma.
July 1Jul 1 comment_326119 Riding this Saturday, it was incredibly smooth, couldn't notice a hint of vibration or roughness. And actually riding this so soon after riding Helix two weeks ago, it's amazing how forceless Hyperia feels. Maybe the new wheels making it faster has taken some of the weightless feeling out of the ride (well for me anyway). Majority of guests clearly still love it although I found it interesting on my trip that Inferno was far busier throughout the day. I was expecting Hyperia to range in the 100 minute wait time, especially with the beautiful weather, but it never went above 50. As intimidating as it is, sometimes the majority of guests just want a smaller, more manageable ride like Inferno and the Swarm.
July 2Jul 2 comment_326135 Would imagine the height with open trains (comparatively) really does intimidate a number of guests to not bother riding it.
July 14Jul 14 Author comment_326310 It opened late yesterday and the closed early (I think between 2 and 3pm?). Tad odd...hopefully nothing serious. Rode fabulously yesterday mind.
July 14Jul 14 comment_326316 This new Mack reliability. Voltron keep closing on and off (and I got a rollback).
August 14Aug 14 comment_326926 So whilst in Hyperia queue the ride stopped and announcement played stating something like "ride has stopped due to guest's action". Queue was closed and we waited 30 mins whilst security entered ride area. With about an hour left of the day, the queue line then evacuated not to open again. Staff confirmed that people has entered the ride area from outside the park. So my question is, presumably they would have evacuated the queue from the start, or certainly well before 30 minitues if they thought they would not be able to open again. What happened for them to not allow the ride open again? My only thought is that they needed to thoroughly search the whole ride area, when it became apparent that they couldn't be sure how many had entered vs how many they had caught? But does this take 90 minitues?

But does this take 90 minitues? Couple of potential theories: -It was found that whoever went into the ride area damaged the ride area fencing. This wouldn't have been immediately obvious, but after dealing with the people in the ride and then surveying the fencing, this would be discovered. That could take 30 minutes. I'd say that's most likely. -Further issues with people trying to enter the park / entering the ride area, which were causing further delays. -An unrelated technical issue occurred after the guest action, meaning the ride wouldn't be able to reopen.
