Dan9
The Teacups are far superior to Vortex. Way more intense if you're in the right cup, and you don't have to queue as long either!Hence Boretex?
Stokesyboy
Vortex or Storm in a tea cup lets think Vortex much better then Storm In a tea cup. Agreed Absolutly love vortex and I just think that storm in a tea cup is naff compared to this ride
StevenVig
I honestly think storm in a tea cup is more fun.I'm still recovering from a ride with Beth, James & Skunky. Most instense Teacup Ride ive ever had. Probably the most intense ride I had that day.

TimR
I don't know why people have such bad experiances of Vortex, I always get alot of airtime on it and I never get bored of it.

But compared to Rush? No competition imo.

Mark9
I think people who havn't experienced Storm in a Teacup underestimate the ride quite a lot as "another teacup ride". But Storm is something different .Well not really. I've had some astounding rides on Storm, but there is only about two cups that are actually decent, the rest are stiff as anything and barely move. No, if you want to guarantee a decent ride, Maurauders Mayhem at Alton is the better ride with effects and a soundtrack and all the cups spin a hell of a lot.As for Vortex, it's a decent ride and I'll never understand the hate that people have for it these days. Stokesyboy
I didnt manage to get on this the other day maybe because the queue was 45 minutes each time which is a shame because I would have liked to had my first ride of the year on it on my first day
Harry.D.C
This is always my first ride of the day, every time. I am always a bit nervous on the first ride of the day on it as everyone has just had there breakfast and well spinning rides don't settle the stomach

Mark9
Does anyone remember the old Vortex announcements, you know the one where the voice had a personality."Vortex is a very fast ride so please remain seated, hold on tight at all times.... prepare for a scare"A piece of my teenagehood died when they removed her awesomeness. Lewie900
Vortex is the only ride in the park that I actually find terrifying. I always think I am going to go over the top. And it's just the fact you go so high. (It isn't actually that high but it feels it when your on it). I looove it though. such an adrenalin rush
James6
When I go to Thorpe on Wednesday, I must go on Vortex. I haven't for so many trips now but I find the que moves so slowly and it's pot luck as to whether you get a great ride on it. Still I must
Paul
Every trip I have made this year, I have found that the Vortex queue goes down to around 5/10 mins around 3pm. This might be something to look out for.

StevenVig
how high does this go? (and how high does rush go as well?) www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk will be able to answer all questions based on Ride Info & Statistics.
RobD
The highest point for the highest swinging set of seats is 64.3 feet. It does go over this from time to time however, and can even be blown over by the wind. This causes an emergency stop, resulting in the ride's power cutting out and it taking about 5 minutes to stop. Mer
LEAVE MY EX BABY ALONE!! :DI've had a fast teacup but I still prefer Vortex...I mean there is only so long you can experience turbo teacups before getting bored and having a painful neck from the force! I mean at first it is like "Whoaa!" and all forceful but I always get used to it quickly and then get bored :DIf you get top seat on Vortex, you get airtime and if it's my first ride it makes my stomach go over :PIt's also the most reliable ride in the park (not an official stat or anything but it's obvious). It behaves itself.
Ricky
Vortex will be interesting this season and forthcoming seasons.
