September 20, 201212 yr comment_141460 Good to know. Anybody know what's going on with Stealth? Taking my brother who hasn't been since 2002, so really wants to know what Stealth is like!
September 20, 201212 yr comment_141466 Ah, this feels like old times. Classic times of September 2007 - Quantum, Rush, Slammer, Samurai and Stealth all closed.
September 20, 201212 yr comment_141468 Thorpe just seems like a child with a bad immune system; when it gets ill, it gets ill in style.
September 20, 201212 yr comment_141472 Current state of samurai: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.455091294535386.106057.328454217199095&type=1
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141487 I've heard it's a problem with one of the motors and it needs replacing but the cost of that is almost the same as getting a new one so they are pondering over wether to repair that model or just simply bring a new one in.
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141493 If it is the same/simialr cost. I would bring another one in. That would also have the full settings
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141494 If it is the same/simialr cost. I would bring another one in. That would also have the full settings It would never be able to be run on full power. Thats the point being consistently made.
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141495 And if they do actually get a new one; what are the odds that we will see it being painted to Samurai colours or left as is?
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141496 Well if its new it would be painted which ever way thorpe asked?
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141497 But what if isn't a new build and it's another second hand one like the replacement enterprise from Drayton?
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141498 I doubt very much so that they will get a second hand one, that would defeat the point in getting a new one to solve its problems. I dont think a new one is needed or will happen, I'm sure Samurai will receive the attention it needs and be up and running well again.
September 21, 201212 yr comment_141510 The parts for samurai and slammer arrived today so will hopefully be back in operation in the next 7 to 10 days
September 22, 201212 yr comment_141531 The parts for samurai and slammer arrived today so will hopefully be back in operation in the next 7 to 10 days But Thorpe have already announced that Samurai won't be back for this season...
September 22, 201212 yr comment_141540 I can completely see why they said that Samurai would not be open until 2013; always best to exceed expectations by opening it for what is left of 2012 and pre-warn guests that it might not happen until 2013 than promise it will reopen soon for it only to hit further problems. Guests like to have their expectations exceeded.
September 22, 201212 yr comment_141543 Well Samurai's page on the Thorpe website has been updated saying it won't open until next season and its been given its own picture just like Slammer. I shall continue to have faith though as it would be nice for Thorpe to exceed themselves for once when it comes to maintenence.
September 22, 201212 yr comment_141544 It may well be another case of them keeping guest expectations at bay only for them to open Samurai early if they are able to; they'd get a certain amount of brownie points if they manage to get the ride open and Slammer open for that matter for such a short space of time left in the season.
September 24, 201212 yr comment_141611 On park now, slammer, stealth, and samurai still all closed. All toilets aren't working so all food outlets are closed and there giving away free tickets if you leave early. Swarm and Colossus on 1 train operation all day!!
September 24, 201212 yr comment_141612 Ouch! Total loss of water supply?? Surprised they were allowed to open! Bad news about Samurai and Slammer... Hopefully they'll cut capacity accordingly for fright nights etc! Or bring in something temporarily?
