Benin
Latest rumours are that some Halloween mazes will be set up in the park...Where you ask? The Black Hole tent...Not sure what to think of that tbh... Nice to see it used... But for Halloween mazes? Meh...
Liam T
Quick question for you all. When would be the perfect time to buy an alton towers annual pass, I plan to buy one about Christmas time, but would that be wise?
JoshC.
Whilst I don't fully know Liam, I'd guess that around Christmas time they're slightly reduced, so that might make it more worthwhile. Other than that, I wouldn't think there's a 'best time' to buy one. :blush:Also, whilst I don't have any figures, as of yesterday, the positions of the greatest roller coaster are unchanged since Fred's post, but Th13teen has been on a big rise (probably due to the FB push that there's been). My personal rankings, after my visit yesterday:Nemesis Th13teenAir OblivionRita:lol:
Fred
I'll update you as of today, the statistics are thereabouts, as I cannot remember the exact scores apart from nemesis.Nemesis - 45.9%Air - 17.5%Oblivion 17%Thirteen 10%Rita 8%

pluk
Result.....http://www.altontowers.com/all-time-greats/Surprise winner? No.Oblivion/Air virtually a tie 2nd/3rd, seems about right to me.Still think Rita should have beaten 13.
thorpeparkjack
To be honest it was probbably fixed that Thirteen wouldn't lose, after all it would be embarrassing for the park.
Benin
Proof to everyone that B&M are the much better manufacturer...18% of people voted for the Intamins... Says it all to me... Rides over 10 years old beating the new blood... Brilliant...
thorpeparkjack
Let's face it though, it's not the best comparison between manufacturers. The B&M's at Alton are some of the best they have made whilst the Intamin's are pretty dissapointing for their standards...
James6
I think if it was fixed, they wouldn't have made Nemesis such an outright winner, and I would've thought Th13teen would be higher.I am glad that it has come through the favoured coasters are the ones with theming and landscaping
pluk
To be honest it was probbably fixed that Thirteen wouldn't lose, after all it would be embarrassing for the park.It openly was fixed for 13 not to lose, they gave away extra tickets to people who voted for 13 at 13.13hrs on the 13th. Basically buying 13 votes to save face.

JoshC.
That King Nemesis sign nay as well have been made from the get-go.. :DAgree with the tightness between Air and Oblivion and Rita being last; Th13teen needs to be a couple of places higher though. XD
thorpeparkjack
Intamins are pretty disappointing in general though Jack Meh, I have not been on enough of both to compare really so it would be foolish for me to comment further. britcitchris
I'm really pleased Nemmie won. It is one of my all time favourite coasters. 100% pure adrenalin. Well done Nemesis!Chris.
th13teen
There was a staff member called Katie working on Rita two days ago, and she was the ultimate in what an Alton towers staff member should be, she was openly speaking to guests and happy to talk about what she wants to do in the future of ALTON TOWERS, she wanted to progress and thats what I feel Alton towers need and if they are not carefull they will lose someone like her, she thoroughly deserves to be in a higher position than ride attendant! Liam T
When I take my study leave in may I'm thinking of going Alton Towers just to do some revision, I may sound stupid but would the park get annoyed if I just sit their with my friend doing loads of paperwork? AstroDan
I once went to Alton, a few years ago, when I was stressed, and sunbathed and read in the lower parts of the gardens for around 3 hours. It's a beautiful and remarkably tranquil environment. Indeed, I would suggest that in no other theme park are there such vast areas of tranquility and peace. Some parks do have long, winding pathways (Efteling, for example) - but not with such few guests as the Gardens at Alton Towers. They wouldn't mind one bit. Take a picnic if you go to the Gardens - but even sitting in Corner Coffee is pretty pleasant! Liam T
