Sidders
Great to finally see some more track/support development. Thank you to all who've taken the photos, The Smiler looks to have some very funky-lookin' support structures!
Smidget
The funny thing is that the majority of the track is still sitting outside the entrance near the car parks, as are some of the footers. Seeing them fail to line up the supports correctly was quite funny though, as was Marc contemplating stealing a bit of track MattyMoo and Whiteknuckle
MarkC
Just seen this: What do you think? http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Smiler/467511439981480
pluk
I think when Alton Towers likes it it might be legit and not a bored fan boy. Until then, nah.
JoshC.
The #getcorrected has not been seen since the name was released (and instead they are using #THESMILER). It a sense of getting that as popular as possible, it would make no sense to drop one hashtag, only to bring it back a month later. Also, mentioning the restraints when they're trying to be as secretive as possible about pretty much everything. Just no. Fake. Seriously, people need to stop creating these fake accounts; if AT are going to go down this route, the more fake accounts that are created, the harder it will be for AT to actually do one in the manner they want. JAMMYD777
Also just to add, the hashtag #GetCorrected is still being used as it was used in today's update by Towers. Still think the FB page is a fake until confirmed in some way by Towers.
MarkC
But why would a fake Facebook page be advertising tickets?

Safe to assume that until otherwise shown too.
Jammy3112
By the looks of it, they still haven't finished painting Oblivion (Not that that's a problem ahah!) I still find it amazing what they can fit into such a small area of land! Can't wait for this!
Benin
That is a damn load of groundwork been done since... Jesus... Now we can see it go up nice and quick... And the dream of epic rolling launched hill is still there!

Benin
Month till park opens for main season... Plenty of time to finish Blivvy up... I'll just repeat my desire for a rolling launch, what a start to the ride it'd be if it was curved drop, inline and launch... Offt... Luke_A
So TowersTimes say Alton have confirmed SW7 will have a different layout to what was submitted in the plans... I'm going on the whole thing of there being no 1st lift hill and it being a rolling launch instead. Takabisha style with the vertical lift mid ride... Hmm Just my guess
Benin
Or the first lift hill is a rolling launch a la Maverick... Like I hoped for... Which would be amazing... Gerstlauer launches Whiteknuckle
EC!
According to some people on towers street, there are gonna be new inversions just after the lift hills, abit like a zero g roll, they suspect this because the part of the support that connects the track to the support, seem to be positioned in a way that looks like its going into an inversion, these are all rumours though, I'm Getting really excited now. pluk
Pretty sure this will be a few more inversions to nudge beyond that record, as has been rumoured from the off. Along with the launch, fingers crossed.
EC!
Some people on tower times have said from the supports there might be at least 12 inversions!! 12!! Again I don't know wether this is true but this is gonna be an inversion monster and will hopefully mean the uk keeps the inversion record off the 11 looping coaster in china plus with all the different types of inversions it doesn't seem as forced as Colossus' 5 heart line inversions. pluk
Well, yes. It would be at least 12 if they want that record, as 11 is opening soon. If they go for thirteen they're really going to regret the naming of their last SW! Sidders and RideAddict
EC!
Sorry to double post but this was posted on towers street its quite interesting: Heard that John Wardley was on Radio Bolton this morning so checked it out. Currently listening back to it - its well worth a listen! He sounds really enthusiastic about the ride and has a lot of interesting things to say! He confirms (in a sort of summary piece + some quotes) - Speaking about nem / air / oblivion - "well our new ride, its going to beat those" Talking about the new ride - "the thing about this, the unique thing, is that whilst rides in the past have played with your body, this "marmalises you" - plays with your mind in 5 "mind manipulating elements" that you experience on the ride. Its more than just a physical rollercoaster" "What weve managed to do is pack more track per m space on this ride than any other in the world" - also confirms the two "lifts" (one of which is vertical) Also comments there are things to disorientate you to make it both physical and mental. Also mentions a worlds first, never been done before - that they are holding back from the public before you ride. Have a listen http://podcast.canstream.co.uk/boltonfm/index.php?page=3 - Mid Mornings top of the page, towards the end of the show (perhaps 4/5ths through) Luke_A
Benin
A lot of those quotes sound very 'bigging up the new ride' to be honest... Bit like Thirteen being every ride you ever dreamed of etc... Still, interesting, perhaps people are jumping to conclusions though, we'll find out once track goes up...
