Fred
Looks amazing, even if you was to ride at this speed I think the experience would be remarkable but that doesn't cater for the excuse that this is SHORT! After a good 2 hour queue I know I will be unsatisfied after this ride.Damn, how would you have coped with the 3hr queues that stealth created when that first opened? TraX
I think the inversions on this thing are really going to pack a punch. I'm thinking about the last inversion on blue fire, I'd imagine they could be quite "airy" like that.Blue Fires amazing last inversion really whips you out of your seat, this will be really floaty instead. Looks great though. As stated on the last page, here's that image showing off what looks like a little clearance issue..
javs
And of course, the great thing about the theming they have gone for, you really are not going to miss a chunk of wall.
tomglazed
If anything, taking that chunk out will go a long way to make the wall look more destroyed. Far rather they take a chunk out of the wall than let a rider do it for them...
Fred
I'd imagine, if anything, that the wall would take a chunk out of the rider rather than the other way around.
Doc
When I first heard about this, I was pretty annoyed (theming wise). It just sounded like another excuse to do depressing and amateurish scenery (I.E, mounds of bricks and rubble in the queue line for SAW and SAW alive... but it seems I stand corrected for the Swarm!Very impressive stuff merlin are producing. Certainly seems to have made people forget about the multi coloured monster that is Storm Surge.I take my hat off to you Thorpe! The coaster itself looks short, sweet and it offers some cool inversions. The train passing over the station should look great when the ride is in action and the good thing about this apocalyptic theme is that pieces of missing wall etc really won't seem that weird to look at. Hopefully it will all blend in nicely.
benndog
I find that the quicker you go over an inversion the less you realy feel the acctual satisfaction of being how ever many feet up in the air upside down!, in my eyes the slower the better! Sidders
Keep in mind that corkscrew is about 50ft high... tomglazed

TraX
A few more various construction pics can be found at the bottom of the page here:http://rideguidegroup.com/site/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=101&p=3042Whilst they're nothing we haven't really seen before, they are from the other side of the park. Harry.D.C
Maybe I am being blind, but I still can't see a helicopter!? haha! Anyone care to point it out a bit more?! haha!
Sheepie
It's in the bottom left, through the trees, you can see the orange base, nose and then the white body.
pluk
I love these things giving it a sense of scale. How small do you feel standing next to a fire engine? How small does a fire engine look sitting next to the swarm? That fire engine looks like a toy!
javs
Amazingly happy that the helicopter is there. And I am loving that picture above. Not only is it one of the best angles of The Swarm I have seen, it shows the sheer scale of this epic rollercoaster.
holtjammy16
Awkward when someone 'confirms' the helicopter was cancelled but the helicopter is there right now ;)Someone should let that someone know
AdamY
Still not seeing it, but I'll take you guys' word for it and just wait to actually see it The rest is still looking mighty fine though! Tom
Iron Irishman
What needs to be done is for someone to get a crystal clear snapshot of the helicopter inside the helix. Meanwhile I watched the new Swarm video and I must say, THIS IS GONNA BE INTENSE
javs
The transition from the zero g to the inclined loop is going to be insane!
Jake C
I had a freind who went to Thorpe on thursday with my collage, was a physics only trip :angry2:he was shown round stealth maintinace sheds and various other things around the park, I was very jelous when I found out.Anyway he got alot of photos, I'm hoping he will send them to me when he can and ill share them on here. he did tell me that there was a helicopter on the Swarm sight and his tour guide told him it was still registered to fly. Sidders
Still registered to fly? Does that mean the rotor-blades and body aren't bashed up and the windows shattered, and it's just plonked in the middle of a helix?
JoshC.
It's 'apparently' still registered to fly. From what I'm aware, it will be bashed up a little. Whether the blades are smashed up is a different matter. As a fun fact of the day, one of Thorpe's engineers is a fan of planes, which helped in the finding / building of plane parts. Also, the plane wing that you dive under is a mock one, as using a plane wing with the engine shells would not have been long enough. The engine shells, however, are real. Iron Irishman
Ironic, Two real engines mounted on a fake wing. And yet it looked so real. And the copter''s still a registered flyer? Won't that mean it can't look bashed up or damaged from crash landing? But then again, copters don't always blow up after crash landing.
