  1. The swarm effects are finally working as the LED'S on the trains are on and the fire effect is working. I don't have many pics as my camera died. And for the eagle eyed people LCXII on the toilets is the project name for the swarm. The ride DVD's are now available although not for the front row.

I've been spoiling you lucky lot with my tales of tackling the land of the rising sun and the land of the idol queens. Today it's going to be a little less exciting, but still very important, a creds a cred after all. West Sands Fun Fair https://rcdb.com/9117.htm This gem of a park recently popped up on coast2coaster and instantly became my nearest +1 and my next challenge. An extremely spur of the moment decision, made about half an hour before setting off, is how all good trips start. We picked a great day to do it as well, it only rained heavily for about 75% of the time. In the car (my own personal missile as I like to think of it) …

Guten Tag! With a week off at the start of July myself and the wife are heading over to Germany for some riding and adventure. We were originally thinking of trying to do the whole west side from Phantasialand / Movie Park and surrounding parks down to Europa, but soon realised we'd spend the whole trip either riding, driving or sleeping and see none of Germany, which seemed a shame, so we've scaled it down a bit to the southwest corner. I've never been to Germany before (other than a days skiing a couple of years back), so this is all new to me. Flying out on Tuesday afternoon to Baden Baden, hiring a car, the current itinerary is... …

Hi Guys, Today I visited Six flags great adventure in jackson, New Jersey (22 August 2012). We arrived at the park thinking that well that it's the end of the summer holidays and that it should be pretty quiet like the time I visited six flags magic mountain at the same time last year. But it was packed, so I decided to go and buy a platinum fast pass which cost me $120 which wasn't bad. With the platinum flash pass the wait time is cut by 90% which means you kinda get straight on which was great, you also receive a wristband which you show to the dispatch team on the ride to ride a second time without queueing again, this was a great idea. I really loved six flag's fas…

  5. Wow, what an amazing weekend! Friday evening saw us arrive in Blackpool and take a late night walk around the promenade and on the pier, Blackpool was heaving yet BPB closed at 5pm which was sad to see, especially considering that the pier was doing a huge trade. Saturday was spent in the park and we had a fantastic day - it started off quiet but the crowds picked up and the park was quite busy in the end, but not crammed full. Most rides were on their current-day maximum capacity but rides like the Ghost Train and Grand Prix were still holding ridiculous queues due to the awful way they are operated these days. Sunday was spent in the park again, and it was …

PARK OPEN: 10am - 10pm RIDES CLOSED: Drenched, Bounce, Tink's Flying School We visited Oakwood for the After Dark event this year, which included fireworks and a colour party. Over the years I've had mixed visits at Oakwood; some are brilliant, whereas others are not-so good. The day started badly with Megafobia not opening on time, however we did manage to get a ride on Bobsleigh before the queue built up, and a few goes on Speed which was running two cars. This is an improvement on previous years, where it has only been running one despite a large queue; it ran two cars all day which was great to see! The park is much nicer kept tha…

Hansa-ParkToday was the first day of the season at this fairly small park, which has recently started getting a name for itself following installations of "story" based rollercoasters and other themed attractions. It's actually been around for decades and was briefly a Legoland park - although no traces of this remain. We arrived a little before 9am, paid our admission and entered through the small, but picturesque Hanseatic style entrance building. A band were greeting guests and characters posing for photographs. Flower arrangements were laid out in front of us and arranged to show todays date "15.4.11". A fairly open entrance plaza area was well themed with buildings ar…

Hope this is the right place, it is kind of a report on a trip :)So anyway, yesterday I was still feeling a bit ill and was really bored so I hopped on the train with my camera and spent the day going around the City of London. I went to a load of places I've never been before, such as the Gherkin, Lloyds building, Bank of England, and some more familiar places like Tower Bridge and St Pauls. It's the first time I've really used my new lens I got a while back in low light so don't expect too much but hopefully some of these have turned out okay. Resizing has reduced the quality in some of them but if anyone wants to see originals I'd be happy t PM or whatever. I'll stop t…

  11. (Sorry about my lengthy Trip Report just as it was my first meet I thought I would do a special one for the occasion, also I apologise if it is not the best TR, it is my first one ) On Sunday the 21st April 2013 there was a lingering sense of excitement as me and my parents were driving 50 miles to the place that is called, Chessington. As I got out of the car all I heard from the direction of the entrance was Peaj’s voice, it was like a beacon calling out. The first thing that I did as soon as the gates opened was to walk through the cattle-pen to collect my first ever MAP, as soon as I had that I was on my way to the meeting point of Hocus Pocus halls, as it was my …

Had a few days booked at Barcelona and my last full day there happened to be Friday 11th April which was the first day of the 2014 season at Port Aventura so simply had to have a day there. We took the train from Barcelona Sants train Station looking forward to a good day presuming that the park would be lovely and quiet as it was the first day and schools in Spain hadn't quite finished for their holiday. But how wrong we were. The park was very busy and unfortunately didn't get on too many rides and have to say had the WORST queueing experience of my life. More on that further in the report Upon arrival at around 10:15 the queue time boards were not working and as we …

While online searching for a new best friend, I stumbled on something much more important, Dymchurch has a cred! Immediately I put plans in motion to ride this beast... This Sunday just gone was the day of reckoning and it began with having a Mc10:35, I'll admit I don't see the appeal or even understand the logic but for about 2 minutes I felt one with the youth of today and that's priceless. From said McDonalds it was a one and a half hour drive to Dymchurch, which is in the arse end of Kent if you didn't know and as always, this drive was quite a memorable one. On the M20, I was viciously tailgated by no less than 3 Belgium registered…

Hello everyone! So today I had a spur of the moment trip to Drayton Manor and had a great time. I used to come here quite a lot as a kid but haven't visited since the day before G Force opened in 2005 (first ever spite! ) so it was interesting to see both how the park has changed and what it's like visiting as an adult. I didn't take any pictures so I'll give a rundown and my views of everything I went on Scorecard: G Force x4 Shockwave x4 Apocalypse x3 Maelstrom x6 Ben 10 x2 Pandemonium x1 Air Race x1 Having been to AT last weekend for the John Lewis event I decided to give the opening day a miss and head to Drayton instead. This decision definitely paid …

  15. With the money grabbing but fun Warwick Castle behind us, we drove to Alton Towers, the next morning. We had stayed in a Premier Inn at Solihull, so the drive wasn't too far.We arrived around half ten to a fairly quiet car park...We were greeted with a very long queue for the monorail, which didn't really make sense as the car park seemed a bit quiet. It turned out the Monorail had broken down. After a 10-15 minute walk, we arrived at the fantastic entrance.Once inside, Ben started planning I love this tree. The Towers. A magnificent building. Our party split up to ride different things. As I was on my own at this point, I managed two goes in a row on Thirteen via the sin…

  16. In what I hope I can make a seasonal thing now, here's the 2012 edition of my Review of the Thorpe Park season! First of all, a couple of little points - again, I won't be doing any for other parks, simply due to the fact I haven't visited them enough to do a 'season review' like this one. Hopefully next season will see me expand out to other parks a bit more regularly, so it is a case of watch this. Also, apologises about some of the bad photos; I've included as few shockingly bad quality photos as possible, though some do help aid what I'm talking about I think. Over the festive period, I'll be treating myself to a new camera, so hopefully 2012 will see the end of m…

  17. Dreamland Margate has been a place that I have always been interested in for years and when I found out it would be reopening this year I knew I had to plan a visit, after all it's the nearest park to me with a woodie (with the others either being in the north, East Anglia or Wales). This is why I have decided to hold an unofficial trip/meet up there this summer to check what has been perhaps the most exciting 2015 development in the UK. This is not a meet by all means as there's no specific plans/arrangements apart from having a great time and exploring the park and possibly surrounding areas. The trip is currently scheduled for Saturday 11th July 2015, which loosely m…

  20. PARK OPEN: 10:30am - 5pm (The park opens at 9:30am, but no rides until 10:30) RIDES CLOSED: Pirate Ship, Polperro Express, Tram Express (Pirate Adventure also closed indefinitely throughout this year). After seeing a half price ticket offer on the website, a last minute decision was made to visit Drayton Manor! I had visited once before, which was back in 2013 during the fireworks event. The day didn't get off to the best of starts; we arrived at around 10am (rides open 10:30am) and stood in a queue waiting for G Force to open. Just before opening time, a member of staff came out to tell us that it wouldn't be opening on time. Following this we went and queu…

So I set off on the 29th of july at a nice and early 2:40am. Due to flight times and numerous delays we didnt get to the park until 8pm local time. So we checked into the hotel and had a nice walk along the beach and a quick look at gatekeeper and windseeker. 30th july Being a hotel guest the park opened at 9am so we had breakfast and walked down to the nearest entrance. There was a 10 minute queue to get in so by the time we got to maverick there was about a 20 minute queue. I had heard very good things of maverick and I can now understand why. It is a fantastic layout and the launch halfway through really packs a punch. After maverick we walked over to millennium for…

After winning [collecting, picking up, whatever you want to call it] a three night stay at Europa Park, I was pretty excited about going to a proper theme park for once, and after visiting, I saw that Europa Park is probably one of the best theme Parks in the world, up there with Islands of Adventure. The day I arrived [saturday] was the Midnight closing, and to be quite honest, it wasn't very different from the later 2 days spent at the park, and it was a bit over hyped. I was really annoyed at Silver Star closing at 10pm on a midnight closing, and after asking a staff member about it, he just shrugged, laughed and walked off. All rides in the park where lit up beautiful…

Hi all, I'm looking to head to Orlando for 2 weeks+ next year - due to work limitations this needs to be early in the year as well. I was originally looking at April, however after doing a bit of research it seems with Spring break this isn't a good time to go. I want to find a month that has nice weather (doesn't need to be scorching) along with the parks being quiet - the latter being the most important over weather. Would any of you be able to recommend a good month and any other general advice for Orlando? It seems International drive is the best place to be in terms of accommodation. Also would you be able to recommend any sites to keep an eye on in terms of …

  25. So yesterday I took my first trip to Thorpe Park since April 2010, it was a last minute thing and booked the night before as me and my pals had decided whilst in the pub it was something we should do as we all had a day off. Drove down to the park for about 9.50, once we arrived I saw the entrance area was pretty busy. I was expecting a busy day having known college kids had just finished there exams and school trips. waited around outside the entrance for a about 10 minutes, noticed the massive screen, that was cool, defiantly an improvement over what was there before. I also like the new branding, much better then those big head guys and the promotion of pis…
