Good parks though use memorable music to create memories... I'm still singing bits and pieces from Efteling and other parks I've visited over the years...
Thorpe's old entrance music was a fantastic piece of work, and it was always disappointing it went in the first place... Hopefully the rebrand reaches to this element as well...

I really like the "new look" Thorpe branding - it looks almost, dare I say it, professional?

I have just realised we are now staying in the heathrow travelodge.
About 16mins away from the park.
If anyone still knows of any mcdonalds etc would be helpful.
Is the dome big? I can't remember haven't been there in ages
I have just been looking at videos of MOS nights on YouTube and they seem to be pretty amazing.
Espesh stealth at night time, view looks awesome.
Also if anyone would know about how much a taxi would cost from thorpe park too heathrow travelodge?
All of you guys have been a great help with the information and I'm really thankful, I will also post about it after the event.
    Thank you all

I love the look of that construction fence. In years gone by (and at other parks) the only effort to hide the construction would be a simple sign excusing the mess.

Neither a 4D Cinema or Dodgems warrant a fastrack, it's greed in it's vilest form.

My memories of Vampire in my youf are exactly the same. Dat tunnel... with the sign about the Vampire striking - entering the station was one of the scariest parts!

That is your filthy adult mind piecing that together! To a child it might play slightly wildly in their head but they would make it fit something they are comfortable with, and then enter that dark tunnel with the expectant fear I did so many times.

Hooray for the park choosing the interesting concept...

The Sun, promoting something associated to the BBC? I bet that is making their heads hurt.

Yes, yes she is... What did she expect bar a full refund when the park has chosen to do this at the behest of the local police?
It's a shame that this has escalated to such a poor turn of events for the park, where those involved in getting the event cancelled will see it as a win against those 'immigrants who come here stealing our jobs and give us cancer' (Source: Daily Mail)...
Their FB page is full of OUTRAGE because people seem to be rather self-centred about their life instead of the big picture... Not that I understand why people are staying there this weekend unless they were going to the event, since it would be shut on Saturday anyways...

Obviously can't forget all those =D but as I said before, I just feel that they are in need of just one more thrilling flat ride, something specifically for the thrill seekers that would be riding the major coasters.
It really does depend on the person with this: yes, flat rides are obviously not as popular as coasters but having a good number of them still helps with queue time when added together. I personally think they really add to the experience of a theme park, I don't just go for the coasters, in fact, Detonator is one of the things at Thorpe I look forward to most... I get that that's a little crazy, but there must be others like me out there =P

I disliked Submission A LOT, but IMO this just makes Alton's flat ride line up incredibly low. Yes, their coasters are world class, but you need something else to help ease the queues and vary your experiences at the park. I mean, Thorpe Park have Rush, Vortex, Samurai, Slammer, Quantum, Zodiac and Detonator, which is more than double Alton's current line up of Blade, Ripsaw and Enterprise. The queues for some of Alton's coasters- especially Rita and The Smiler- can get insane, I feel like more thrilling flat rides would detract from this. I know they're a family park and all and have an amazing family offering, but still :/ Maybe removing Submission was a bad move :/

On a positive note, the scaffolding on Rammy is coming down and it should be good to go for the start of the season.

We got more, for instance there's no metal box thing at the top of that promo image whereas in real life we do have that. We win

You are right, but won't have much hope convincing people that on an internet forum!
I will always prefer the original design simply because it was infinitely more substantial than whatever is being created now. It seemed back then that even the simplest rides could become extravagant and charming without all the limitations imposed by marketing and budgeting that cause so many ideas to struggle in UK theme parks today.
The Runaway (Mine)Train always was a boring figure-of-eight Mack powered coaster with a commonplace theme, and I can't forget how aesthetically shocking it had looked for the last decade. However, with its clever scenic queueline taking you around the whole of Calamity Canyon and the rocky tunnels disguising the actual size of the coaster, it showed a genuine will to make sure the rider had as much fun as possible.
(I'm not sure squirting water in riders faces does not show the same kind of showmanship!)

    Ritas should surely now say:
Keep your heads back. Hold on tight. Protect your face from the red hot splinters of metal shrapnel. You must escape. Go Go GO.
