  1. The lack of second launch sex noise (as per Taron) is the most disappointing part... There's about 4 real pops of airtime in it, it's not the best Mack Mega (it's about on par with Alpina Blitz for me) but it's something that the UK has been begging for... It's deliciously re-rideable and they've done a good job with the layout given the unique restrictions at Blackpool... People need to get over Wild Mouse being spited though... It's sad that it went, but look at it from the operational stand point of people being hurt on rides in a post Smiler world... Hell when Dipper derailed the years ago the papers were desperate to hear of injuries and didn't really care when there weren't any...
  2. Edit - Facebook is blocked at work so assumed Josh had posted the video also doing the rounds.
  3. Short-sightedness is causing problems, so let's just stick the latest fad IP onto an event because people like it...
  4. I've honestly no idea if they have a Fastpass tbh, if they do it's probably worth it's weight in gold... They do some form of ERT, but not sure if it's exclusive for hotel guests though, might be worth an investigation... Though if they've gone for the pay-per-ride model all of that might well mean nothing anymore... So good luck...
  5. I half expected them to use Oblivion, in some weird satire...
  6. Benin

    Logger's Leap

Yeah, it means it's an attraction, not a ride
  7. Is the joke that it's not a Flying coaster?
  8. Effect free (well, the only effect was the waterfall anyway) because of an on-going HSE investigation into a similar attraction down the road, but why let facts get in the way of bashing Merlin? Dunno about the boats, could potentially be one of those moments where a bottleneck happened at the base of the lift hill so a massive gap developed... Happened before...
  9. Wonder if it's a rights issue? And easier for the parks to get IMAScore to dirge out something and then have them for good rather than create completely bespoke from individuals... It's strange because IMAScore do create some great themes... Perhaps it's to do with what they're given by the client as a specification, as the more distinct stuff sounds like the parks have worked directly and constantly to provide something memorable...
  10. Texas Giant (and one would also presume Steel Vengeance) having problems might well give Merlin worries given recent events...
  11. Amazing stuff, though I doubt helped by the difference of regulatory standards... If same thing happened here, HSE would have the site until determination of the root cause was firmly established and the park would prove that it wasn't in the wrong (or try to)... We'd never get this purely because the parks wouldn't care or lazyness...
  12. They can't destroy the others can they as they're all listed no? Though I wouldn't be opposed to Nash being spited for something better, it's utter back destruction these days... Likelihood is that any next addition will go in the old place, perhaps they'll build some new flat rides instead? Besides if they destroy the Bowling/Amusements and that entire row of bits they could do some serious infrastructure upgrades...
  13. I kinda wish I'd realised more about this event being so fan baiting as it was, might have considered going... Hopefully they'll do more, it's starting to act like a real Disney park these days...
  14. Parc Saint Paul's new woodie is growing:
  15. "We had to beg Merlin to give us the money to fund a repair job" is the general jist... With of course bonus USP...
  16. I still don't like the silly corner before the first drop, seems like they could've done something else (Gatekeeper's opening inversions for example, with the exit going into the airtime hill)... It is also really short, which is a shame...
  17. Continuing the French park theme, Jardin d'Acclimatation in centre of Paris (right opposite side from DLP) are opening their new Gerst Bobsled this week... It's cute (as is the park, it's a small fair area in the middle of the bigger park)...
  18. Europa have a budget though, Chessie have to make do with what's left after the big boys have had their turn on the money pile... "But Nick, when do WE get £30million for something new?"
  19. The Flambards article was a bit... strange really... It's not like they hadn't done something and the point is well made that to get a completely unique system isn't always cost effective for smaller companies to supply for the one person who visits who needs it... Unfortunately, there's still so many steps to be made for companies to comply, and cost, time and space is a big factor in all of this... Dread to think how bad Chessie is for it...
