  1. Well taking it the LTDP plan won't be approved till end of this year then no doubt needing a more specific one for the coaster 2017 is basically out of the question.
  2. No way will it be for 2017. You're looking more 2019/20 for that
  3. So in the next 10 years, 10, we might see a new coaster on that field by Fury, lots more accommodation and a bit of work done to the car park. Exciting 10 years ahead then...
  4. Disney just announced Rivers Of Light won't be opening on the 22nd April as previously announced and won't be giving a further update on an opening till May. Things happen, loads of things get delayed. Let's not bash Merlin primarily for it, if anything, this attraction is train based and in England. There's an instant delay right there
  5. When at Walibi last year most things had 40/50 minutes wait, the log flume had 50 minutes and an as per high throughput so yeah for the parks busier days the turntable is a great idea!
  6. But we all know the backseat is the best
  7. A Simworx Intamin Severn Lamb creation. Just thinking that makes me shudder, nah I'm sure it'll work out fine. :s
  8. So this is going to be called InvadR. It's cool to spell it like that. Apparently it is a GCI and will receive many of its parts from Gwazi like the trains, lift hill motors etc. So all the expensive components. This shall therefore be known as Gwazi2.0
  9. After seeing so many rumours floating around that maybe they'd scrapped the MCBR to make the second half faster (some rumours hey) it's back! I'm taking a liking to the black tunnel Queue is covered in scaffolding too, will be interesting to see what they do with that! So Mako opens June 10th, and has just got it's lead car on the transfer track so tests are expected to follow soon. This will probably be more late June although they're speeding ahead because they know they need the capacity. Kong is near ready for softs, like imminent with walls expected to come down in the next week. The truck issue is slowly being resolved so when it softs it will be able to run 3 out of 5 RVs. Better than Gringotts which ran 3 out of like 9. And with about a year to go, VB is still rising high. And is a large site. Once all the infrastructure is in place, slides should fly up Plus the rock theming for the volcano is ready sitting just 20 minutes up the road from the resort.
  10. Nemesis was built in a pit due to height. The problem is, they're not trying to get planning permission. They can build new rides in areas, but they're not even fighting this by putting in planning applications. If they were and they were all getting rejected I'd understand, but they're not!
  11. On Tuesday there was a guy from Simworx sitting on the back (BBQ side) of the train with a laptop programming it.
  12. Sorry, just used to areas opening up looking much worse than this.
  13. So Mako which is yet to test opens 10th June. This with its complete area and a fully testing ride must be looking at late May opening? As long as its good by July 2nd I'm happy
  14. About the completing everything in one day. That's not just down to a few closures, when I went even if all those closed rides open we could have easily done the park in a day. It's because the park is dead. There are virtually no queues majority of most days. And yet, they can still run their coasters on a better capacity than other parks do on actual busy days. Crazy.
  15. Not a bad way to open your new land... I so hope the rumours of making a projection show on the castle at IoA over Christmas are true!
  16. Unsure how the money works from Merlin on these, but considering Towers is pretty much set this year for SF with a brilliant set of mazes, Chessington who knows but they've kept Trick or Treat Woods route in tac (joy.) and after last year I've lost all hope of a good event there again, Thorpe probably are going to see the most changes. Big Top will be back and hopefully complete from day one. Saw Alive will be back as part of the Saw contract and they've probably decided Cabin is popular and good so lump that in on that. Assuming Containment will return which I can't see why it won't as it's just sitting in a car park behind MHQ that leaves two unreturning attractions. BW maybe replaced by a similar attraction down that path. So MBV. Who knows, but they'll be silly not to do a maze linked to Ghost Train in some way I'd say.

    Wicker Man

Realistically we'll never see a coaster like Nemesis ever again. It's too costly. Nemesis just all worked together, it came together and the crowds agree. Oblivion is highly renowned, it unnerves many and whilst I have no time for the ride itself, the whole theme and psychological aspect is fab. Smiler also did hugely well at becoming known worldwide, obviously helped by the worlds first aspect but the whole marketing campaign was something we hadn't seen and done to a huge level. I think, for a small country, we have some pretty great coasters. And a nice mix too! I don't want high investments to continue just being big coasters. Parks aren't that way anymore. Phantasialand spending millions on a whole new log flume concept, Efteling building a new trackless multiple route dark ride, Disney and Universal always pushing those rides. The two theme park giants rarely build coasters, because there is so much more to theme park rides nowadays. Towers doesn't need a new coaster. It just doesn't. Maybe a family thrill one but even then it's at a better state than most parks. It needs a true modern dark ride. That's the route Towers need to go, or a really immersive water ride. I love coasters just as the next person, and would never turn down a cred. But we really aren't lacking as much as you may think. This country has had many big ride moments: Longest coaster, still the longest in Europe. At its time, worlds tallest. Worlds most inversions, twice. Steepest drop on a coaster, twice. Worlds first flyer, vertical drop, drop track on a coaster. Some truly historic coasters, vintage like Scenic Railway and the Blackpool lot. Yup, this country is awful.
  18. Hey give Pete a break, there's over a week to go! He has to sort out who's doing what etc. All you guys have to do is pick a ruddy ride to be your empire yet I've had few responses! Next Friday at 12pm I will be using an online randomiser to randomise the list into the order it'll be read out (so I'm not unfair at put certain people in certain places for tactics). After that time anyone to give me their ride, especially on the day will just get added to the list in a random position. This is to try and avoid another "it's unfair my ride is the first one people hear" etc. If it is, the computer made it that way or you didn't meet the deadline. Risk it at your own choice
  19. Still not overly hyped for a ride focusing on air time. Remaining sceptical, which is one thing that looks good for Mako is it isn't just up and down. It has some decent banking and turns. I think there's one trim on Mako's layout, maybe 2. But Seaworld parks often from my experience don't even turn the trims on. Bigger concern should surely be the trim that's looking likely on Hulk...
  20. I can tell you from my phone it's working
  21. Mingo land might be able to, they don't seem to have too many harsh restrictions. But that'd only ever happen if Zamperla started making hypers
  22. Maybe they should change to something like Eueopa then with a set closing time and announce extensions to that when warranted.
