March 14, 20169 yr comment_229704 Assuming it will look like this, then wow! Chocolate CHOCOLATE! Plus chocolate bacon, Key Lime Pie shake and more! Steam punky. No idea on opening time with this, most likely towards the end of the year like NBC Grill, but if they can get it up by the summer then they've got a hefty amount to open in one go, marketing attack! Kong is looking likely to be the 23rd June as that is when VIP tours etc have been blocked out. Gonna get busy! VB logo too.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229706 I am a bit confused with this investment. To me it sounds like the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory factory but not as good. I find it really hard to like most of the recent investments. Volcanoe Bay will have a very low capacity and Kong's painting of the 'forest' in the background look terrible. It simply looks cheap and ruins the effect of the amazing rock work.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229708 It's a market that CityWalk didn't yet cater too. Yeah, has similarities to CATCF but at heart it's just a Victorian chocolate place. I wouldn't really say CATCF is steampunk, just weird. Volcano Bay is being worked on to be one of the best water parks in the world. They're calling it a water theme park and building a 200ft volcano structure for its core. Can't be worse than Wet'n'Wild. Plus, it is rumoured to not have queues. It will use a sophisticated R'n'R but designed with this in mind so it works. Kong's paint work is odd. Guess it might look better in person, but this photo from a few days ago on OTPN shows it well. These investments shouldn't be the ones to question, I'm sure they'll be amazing. It's Fallon and Furious that I'd call dubious.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229709 It's way better than any restaurant Merlin has to offer. Volcano bay is a water park. Capacity isn't exactly a necessity. Finally by no means is kong cheap. The rock work distracts you from the Forrest anyway.

You wear an electric watch which displays how long you have until your next ride. To select a ride you just go up to one of the points around the park, scan you watch and choose one on a touchscreen display. Should be perfect by the time volcano bay opens
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229734 Those desserts... Actually, use that gif for nearly anything Universal are doing atm, bar the Fallon ride, cos that's made of WHYYYYYYY...
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229735 I just find that painting an eye sore. When I look at the building, I enjoy the rock work but when I see the painting, it ruins the illusion of being far way.
March 14, 20169 yr comment_229736 Still, it's pretty impressive when you consider how large the building actually is. This'll probably be universal's best new ride outside of the Potter additions they've had for a while.

This'll probably be universal's best new ride outside of the Potter additions they've had for a while. On that point, is the building/ track length really that long if it stays at the same size/ scale of the outdoor track. I may be wrong here but how much track does that building fit?
March 16, 20169 yr comment_229883 On a different note, Hulk's track is probably just days away from being completed...
March 16, 20169 yr comment_229885 Hulk looks fantastic! It's as if it's 1999 all over again (in short, it's like a whole new ride)!
March 18, 20169 yr comment_229999 The track itself hasn't been replaced however a new launch system has been rumoured since the day it was announced that Hulk was to undergo a major refurbishment. This photo was taken yesterday with the cobra roll just one track section away from completion. Here is the progression of the cobra roll over 3 days:
March 18, 20169 yr Author comment_230001 So the question that really matters is, is this a new coaster credit or is it not. After all, its mostly new track an yet part of it remains old track. Answers on postcards please.
March 18, 20169 yr comment_230010 If they've replaced the launch track in it's entirety then yes... If no, well it just comes under a retrack instead, and hence NOT a new cred...
March 18, 20169 yr comment_230012 Kong might be delayyyyyyed, wifi problems with the vehicles apparently. Hopefully not as big a problem as Gringott's though.
March 18, 20169 yr comment_230023 Feel like it might nearing a solution as F&F is using the same tech and permits for the actual ride were filed yesterday. If not, it can run one vehicle fine, will probably make it close to opening capacity of Gringotts...
March 18, 20169 yr comment_230024 Hulk cobra roll is now complete and they are working on the inline twist out of the launch tunnel. https://www.facebook.com/MakoMadness/
March 20, 20169 yr comment_230093 Nearly done! Launch tube is being repainted MSHI looks almost right once again Not sure if I like it, could just be a base coat. Exterior queue progress as well.
March 20, 20169 yr comment_230116 Hulk look smashingly great. I envy those experiencing the American Dream.
