Tom G Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 1.2m unaccompanied, 1m accompanied. It says on the park map! Quote
Topsyturvy15 Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 The new height restriction sounds great. To be honest there is more risk of falling out of a log flume than getting hurt on a small coaster so I can't see it being a problem. Hopefully it will add a new experience to smaller riders and will add something to the park that X couldn't in the past. Quote
JoshC. Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 I heard from a member of staff today that X should open "at the end of March or beginning of April". He also said that Ministry of Sound are involved with X, and it includes a £30,000 light show. (This was heard by a staff member who worked on Swarm, so a different ride area to X I think, so take that for what you will. ) Quote
JoshC. Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Well, according to Theme Park Collective's FB page, it opens at 12 today! Quote
J.S217 Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 I need to go on this plus what song is being played Quote
TPJames Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 It's opened today..yay Great, I better get down to thorpe soon I have a feeling X is gonna be something...brilliant. Quote
Mitchada04 Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Glad it has opened just in time for the busy period. Will have to pop down Tuesday and give it a go before I read/hear too many spoilers Phill Pritchard 1 Quote
pluk Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Open an hour and still no review? Come on people, I'm waiting! From TPM facebook holtjammy16, Phill Pritchard and Coaster 3 Quote
TPJames Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 'Apparently' X has hit an 80 minute queue due to it opening this afternoon. This means that all the other rides and rollercoasters currently have queue times under 30 minutes(Colossus was at 120mins earlier in the day). Please correct me if I am wrong- I got the info off ride hopper. Quote
Benin Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Surely that's something not too surprising if Thorpe is reasonably busy... Especially with a lower height restriction now, X is going to be pretty busy throughout the year... Quote
J.S217 Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 so basically the only chance I will get on this will be after Easter then Quote
TPGG Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Which will be a better day to go to Thorpe Park - Sunday or Monday? Quote
Benin Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 So apparently the light show is nice, but not much has actually changed... Why are people getting so hyped up for this change? Just out of interest when all that was promised were forward facing trains and lights? Quote
Kerfuffle Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 I'm going to Thorpe tomorrow, so MY review will start rolling in...eventually Quote
Mad Coaster Man Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Just rode this today. It's far better than expected. There is a large central column of lights that are synced to the music, as well as various lasers and other lighting effects. The second hill seems better towards and the ride is far better than it used to be. Also on the exit the "Thorpe Park Power Supply" has been plastered over. Overall I'd give it an 8/10 over my original 6/10. Coaster XTREME 1 Quote
TPGG Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Reckon a Tuesday or Wednesday would be best to go to avoid Easter weekend? Quote

Ricky Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 The music isn't recognisable by shazam, but it's an up beat trance mix. Quote
Fred Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Nooooo the thorpe power supplyyyy!! Expect more powercuts in the future then, muppets. Mightymetra, Mad Coaster Man and Benin 3 Quote
Mad Coaster Man Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 wicked how long did you queue I queued just under one hour. And yes the music sounds like generic club music. Quote
