September 18, 201311 yr comment_168765 It's a weird one really and would be dependant on the situation... As these single supports have to work harder to hold the ride up due to the minimalistic approach... Think it's just the way they went about it... If it was more solid, it would probably have more fatigue in the Fury case... A rather weird case is Fury... It probably had a full inspection back in the closed season of 2004-2005 when all the track from the first drop and immelman was replaced to determine whether more supports were needed for the lift hill which is where the major wobble is.
April 20, 201411 yr comment_181430 If it's chucking it down as bad as it is at home, then more than likely... Fury disagrees with rain immensely...
October 16, 201410 yr comment_194952 Long, very un-fury-y, re ride chat moved to its own topic. Do continue...
March 3, 201510 yr comment_204003 Does anyone know if Dragon's Fury is still missing some of it's track? If so then they have got a lot of work to do in under two weeks!
March 3, 201510 yr comment_204004 It two days ago. It doesn't take so long to put it back up, even if it is being left rather late.
March 4, 201510 yr comment_204043 I would have thought they will have it up and running for the AP days, especially as The Vampire will be closed?
March 5, 201510 yr comment_204091 Is this the rollercoaster that's next to the carousel? It looked complete when we were there Sunday but we were peeping through a tiny hole in the huge fence blocking that area of the park off, so I could be wrong.
March 5, 201510 yr comment_204099 Yes, it does run close to the Carousel. However the section that had been removed (and shown in a photo posted on here last month) would not have been visible from where you would have been peeking.
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204553 So it seems Fury will be closed this weekend. Along with Vampire and Bubbleworks. Well played Chessington. Just imagine what the queue will be like for Scorpion Express?
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204566 Should it come to AP day with those 3 rides off the line-up, it'll be one of the biggest embarrassments from a Merlin park... And that DOES take a lot of doing...
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204585 Having Safari Skyway open will feel like having a brand new ride though...
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204679 They must be having issues sorting out it's queue line, what with the new weighing scales and single rider queue... *walks away*
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204692 I don't understand why Fury wouldn't be ready. Spinball is quick at Alton Towers and runs in February with 5 cars (7 normally).
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204693 Fury is having its tracked filled with sand to reduce noise. That would have slowed down its winter maintenance a lot.
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204698 And several other reasons why the track is down. They must have run into further problems which is concerning. Or maybe it's fine and there's nothing to worry about... hmm
March 10, 201510 yr comment_204713 It depends on what it's down for. My guess would be that bad weather or lack of communication from Maurer meant that the maintenance was delayed with the track. So as a result they haven't quite finished working on the cars. Oh well, at least it's only AP day.
March 10, 201510 yr comment_204714 It depends on what it's down for. My guess would be that bad weather or lack of communication from Maurer meant that the maintenance was delayed with the track. So as a result they haven't quite finished working on the cars. Oh well, at least it's only AP day. The cars would be ready to go by this point. If the track was still not a complete circuit, that's the hold up.
March 10, 201510 yr comment_204717 Could be that they haven't had enough time to train staff as well, like Vampire and Bubbleworks
