August 12, 201015 yr comment_96390 Was probably just an e-stop to collect someone's phone or something, happened to me on the lift on Monday You wouldn't E-Stop a ride with people on it to collect a phone
August 12, 201015 yr comment_96401 Ok fine Mr smarty pants, they stopped the lift The clue is in the "Emergency" part James Don't have to be smart to know that and I am dumb :DSome emergancy losing your phone.... then again, it would be if I lost mine
August 12, 201015 yr comment_96404 I think you mis-understood Senor "I know everything" :lol:I meant as in someone had their phone out on the lift, and it had to taken as it is a loose article...
August 16, 201015 yr comment_96529 Yeah towers stops their rides to collect phones etc, as they're considered loose articles and must not be on the ride.Much like vampire lift stops to give shoes
August 16, 201015 yr comment_96532 I have always wondered why air has 2 trim brakes, one in the first tunnel and another just before the final helix, but they never seem to move or slow the train down? Which of course is a good thing!
August 16, 201015 yr comment_96535 Yeah, B&M adds them to their coasters as a precaution, but they were deemed to be un-needed and therefore disconnected and remain un-used.
January 25, 201114 yr comment_107495 It's such a wonderful ride.It feels like you're flying.It's good.
February 23, 201213 yr comment_132613 Only way to go with Air would be the original oasis concepts. But meh, still love it
February 23, 201213 yr comment_132614 I don't really want any more "abandoned" ride themes! Probably didn't phrase that in the correct way, not really abandoned, just more "taken over"by the Forbidden Valley, the concept was to show how the ride could fit in with the rest of the area, because at the moment, it doesn't
February 23, 201213 yr comment_132615 'Taken over' like Th13teen? I like the current concept! And I agree with AstroDan
February 24, 201213 yr comment_132619 I have to agree it doesn't fit, but I also agree no more abandoned themes. It would have been fantastic to see the Theme finished; but I can't see that happening anytime soon, especially as there's been no effort after ten years...The only time I could see AIR perhaps get some work done, is when/if they expand round the side of it to make a Hotel-connection path or place a new Coaster there as behind AIR was outlined as a potential site, wasn't it? But yeah, maybe when that day comes, AIR could become the start of a new area and theming would be finished. *keeps dreaming*
February 24, 201213 yr comment_132623 The idea behind Air's theme is quite good actually, and suits the ride pretty well as it is not along the lines of Nemesis, and it allows it to have it's own relative identity within the park...Unfortunately, the budget dying due to the ride system rather than anything being cut, meant that it didn't get brought out as well, hence the concrete tunnel of bright lights we have today...I like Air, seem to be one of the few enthusiasts at times that actually does... Though I never knew it could go even slower than normal until Sunday

Though I never knew it could go even slower than normal until Sunday Thats what I meant when I said cut, sorry :PAnd I like AIR too, oh and it's nice to know I wasn't losing it thinking it was on a snails pace last Sunday! I find because of my size that when I go through the Lie-to-Fly it can give me a nice little pull, but last Sunday it was struggling through it. Was such a shame because AIR "is" a good ride if you allow it to be what it was designed for: a ride to stimulate flight.
February 24, 201213 yr comment_132654 I love Air, although to be fair it is the only flyer I have done. I just think it's a nice relaxing ride, and the lack of theming doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I do agree that it sticks out like a sore thumb! The only complaint I have is that the restraints like to try and scalp me o.O
February 24, 201213 yr comment_132655 Air was slow last week, but that's simply the cold weather.Air is very popular with general public at Alton Towers and goes to show that you don't need something aggressive to satisfy guests. It's a pity that the costs associated with the original development overran, thus leaving no money for certain thematic elements, such as support theming and water features.
February 24, 201213 yr comment_132659 Having ridden a couple of other fliers, Air is still my favourite; it's speed, pacing and intensity is spot on for that design. The likes of Tatsu might look all impressive but just don't feel right, like they are fighting against the limitations of putting you in 'the position', rather than using it to their advantage.Having said that, the tunnel and the tin shed roof are laughable really and I think fixing them would greatly improve the whole experience.
February 27, 201213 yr comment_132830 I'm getting put off of Air more and more now, yeah it's cool and it's nice to give it a go once and a while but the queue just always seems to be massive and go really slowly!Got stuck on it the other day aswell, least I was sitting down on it
March 15, 201213 yr comment_134250 Woohoo! A true pioneer and still stands tall amongst the new flyers. Happy birthday <3
