Matt 236
Can't wait until this opens next year. I'm actually wondering whether this attraction will be mostly screen based or wether it's going to feature traditional animatronics. Maybe both. Ride area does look small, could there be the possibility of the ride being on different levels. I do wonder with the facade expecting to be massive. JoshC.
The concept art immediately made me think it would be more than one floor for this. And it's still a reasonably large space anyways, so plenty of opportunities for stuff. As for screens Matt, pretty certain it's been confirmed there's no 3D glasses and no guns (possibly suggesting hand moving technology due to the interactivity). Screens still possible. Matt 236
Symbolica Latest Tower structures now on site. The attention to detail Efteling put into their attractions is remarkable. The ride will feature a Summer opening next year, which judging by Baron may be around July time. source Loopings CharlieN and Cian
Cian
The concept for Symbolica sounds excellent. Let's pray they don't pull a Derren Brown's Ghost Train on us...
L7123456
Symbolica does look like it could be an excellent attraction! If it's pulled off correctly. It very easily could take a turn for the worse.. Still, I have high hopes! The theming quality of Eftelings attractions is some of the best I've ever seen. This ride will most definitely continue this quality. Cian
Matt 236
More Symbolica updates Building is starting to take shape nicely now. I forget get whether it's been said, but this will be the most expensive ride ever built at the Efteling, at a cost of 35 million euros with a ride duration of 6-7 minutes. It will be trackless too. Apparently most of the work is going on the outside of the attraction at the moment as they want to finish this first before they start working on the insides for the attraction itself. JoshC.
Don't know if there's any hype for this here, but there's going to be a waterfall feature at the back of the building... Sourcey: http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/6060/Efteling-test-waterval-bij-nieuwe-attractie-Symbolica.html Also, massive shout out for the hi vis jackets; they look awesome. Matt 236
Well it wins my vote because there's a waterfall. no really it does, as I love hidden features like this.
Benin
Efteling also did themed hi-vis for Baron, cos they do those sorta unnecessary things... Hopefully they'll do another Youtube series too of the construction...
KingNemesis
Very much looking forward to riding this next year! Think it will be a very interesting ride. Hope it's more like Mystic Manor and not Ratatouille (I extremely enjoyed Ratatouille but slightly too many screens for my liking however the balance of screen to theming is one of the better ones I've seen. Matt 236
Meanwhile at Efteling, more work takes place to further enhance the magic of Symbolica. The highest point of the ride has now been constructed and just like everything Efteling, looks beautiful. Pictures copyright of Loopings. Certainly can't wait for this to open next year and definitely plan to return to Efteling next year to experience this. Best looking new ride for 2017 in my books. Matt 236
Symbolica Latest The attraction according to Loopings will hold an approximate throughput of 1400 PPH, which will be slightly lower than Droomvlucht and Fate Morgan's at 1800 PPH, but comparatively higher than Baron at 1000 PPH. Benin
Dreamcred has a throughput of 1800pph? That sounds slightly over exaggerated to me... 1400pph is better than all the coasters there I'd reckon... Complete guess mind...
JoshC.
Efteling released some concept art of the preshow room for Symbolica a while back. Spoilering because Efteling concept art is so realistic... Also, Python is set to be closed for pretty much the whole of April, May and June for its refurb, with rumours of a whole track replacement rife.. Matt 236
That looks Efteling amazing. A little reminscent of Plopsa's teacups and Mystic Manor but looks to retain the amazing park quality. As for the Python retracking, it feels a strange and excessive rule, considering how smooth it already is. But if Efteling are up for refurbing their classic ride, let them doing it! It's great how such a park looks after things new and old and doesn't really neglect anything (I'm saying nothing).
Matt 236
Double Post, but apparently it won't only be Python that will be receiving major updates next year but the Dutchman too. Apparently areas of the outdoor track are to be replaced due to wear and tear from the splash features. Full article can be seen here http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/6454/Opknapbeurt-voor-Vliegende-Hollander-Pagode-Sneeuwwitje-en-Draak-in-de-Efteling.html?coockie=accepted If that wasn't enough, the Gondola, lake boats and the Snow White and Dragon sections in Fairy Tale Forest are also receiving some excessive TLC. With the park turning 65 next year the park the park is certainly doing a great job with updates.

Matt 236
The park have released the first episode of 'The Making Of Symbolica', which follows the planning and creating of the attraction much like the how Baron 1898 documentaries did. Some interesting facts mentioned in this the project which shows just how much dedication Efteling put into their park and attractions. JoshC.
For anyone planning on doing Symbolica, the park are aiming to open it for July 1st next year. Seems to be the park's go to opening date, with Baron and Joris both opening on that date. Matt 236
If anyone didn't need another reason to visit Symbolica, I'll let the pictures do the talking. The detail is phenomenal. What's more these pictures are towards the back of the attraction too which is amazing to see. No single part of a warehouse in site.
