Benin
Efteling stated on Facebook that this will be opening on the 1st July...
JoshC.
Glad that's now been confirmed, mostly because that's when I arrive at Efteling.. Excited is an understatement; just to see this thing will be incredible!
pognoi
So much gold... Can I ask, is the holding brake element new? Not the brake itself, but the way it sort of stops, moves a little, stops again and then releases, rather then stop, release?
Benin
It's probably more noticeable as it's the first DM to go straight into the holding brake after the lift hill... Oblivion does ever so slightly move after the first pause/stop, same for all the other DMs... pognoi

Altitude
Not sure what I think of the music tbh, sounds a bit Main Street USA?
Matt 236
Yeah, the music definitely sounds Main Street USAesque, sort of a marching band sort of style I'd say. Even so, I'm sure it'll fit the attraction's theme and surroundings perfectly. Whoever gets to ride it this year, I envy you 1898 times
Mitchada04
Whoever gets to ride it this year, I envy you 1898 times Not just this year Matt, but in one months time today for opening Music at parks is an odd one, sometimes the theme doesn't work on its own but works superbly with the ride and surroundings! The whole experience is key. We're just spoilt with all of ImaScore's work these days.
Benin
This seems similar to Flying Dutchman, very classical, very Efteling when you hear it in context... But outside of the ride/park it probably doesn't work... The bit in the video sounds like the entrance music, rather than the queue/station... pognoi
It makes sense to the mining culture. As said in the video miners would spend time in the shafts whistling and making synchronized sounds in rhythms and beats to create music to help them work efficiently and stop them from getting bored, so its very traditional, but by no means is it a theatrical IMAScore piece, it seems much more relevant and discreetly down-toned. I do like how they call water dummies white women. :
Altitude
Not sure if you were joking but the 'white women' is the Witte Wieven inside the mines!

AstroDan
Mamba is not going to be thematically better than this. Just no.
pognoi
It's very different. Mamba very much takes you up on the role of being a snake, turning tightly through amazingly excavated pits and holes, and it really throws you about like a snake moves. The theming on top is very much of an area inhabited by humans where similar snakes dwell, so it can very much be related in a tight manner to the name. Baron takes you on a thrilling experience. The ride experience itself may not be so relatable to the theming however the theming itself has been so carefully mastered it can be an attraction on its own. The theming for black mamba is just there to compliment the ride, or vice versa. The theming for baron, however, completely creates the atmosphere and story. pluk

AstroDan
People need to stop over hyping Baron. The theming in queue lines and stations at Efteling - on DVH and presumably Baron - is top drawer. But they never theme every inch of the experience. That's where only a small few make it.
