th13teen
Thorpe park should have early ride time plus they need to open the gates (turnstiles) about 30mins before the park opens and hold everyone in the dome this one because it will reduce the backlog out side the park and 2 it gives people the chance to already start buying much like alton towers do with the towers street! I don;t think Early ride time is needed at Thorpe as it already has very good hours. Currently its 9:30-8:00 which is a good 10 and a half hours. It doesn't really need extra time and the staff would be exhausted working a constant 11 hour day.Maybe in the quiet time, but then you wouldn't need early rider anyway as the park would be so dead. JoshC.
Well even just letting you in the park to choose your ride before it opens would be good enough for me!I disagree with this. It just annoys people more. For example, Chessie opens its gate at 9:30, but practically all rides don't open till 10. And the amount of people I've heard saying "What's the point in opening the park but not the rides" is uncountable...

Dan9
On every occasion I've visited Thorpe this season the gates have been opened well before scheduled opening anyway, so I don't know why there are still complaints about it to be honest. Every time I've visited, it's been on time, give or take a minute. The earliest I've seen the park opened this season is about 9:25. Strange. Benin
And the amount of people I've heard saying "What's the point in opening the park but not the rides" is uncountable...Hehe, and I wonder what their reaction would be if they all had to stand behind the turnstiles at the gates causing a massive crush as the park opened... JoshC. Just a case of damned if they do, damned if they don't I s'pose.
Ricky
Port aventura has a completely different way of opening that I dont think from what you say many britions would like!Your getting on my tits now, EVERY company owner will have their own strategys and plans so STOP comparing them to other parks. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AND NEVER WILL BE.

Marc
Well even just letting you in the park to choose your ride before it opens would be good enough for me!They cant with the amount of engineering cars/vans and what not driving around the park. Would cause a load of problems.Hmm, strange. Every time I've visited, it's been on time, give or take a minute. The earliest I've seen the park opened this season is about 9:25. Strange. I think it depends how far through the engineers are through there checks and what rides are ready, if they are its not unusual to be let in early. StevenVig
Marc's absolutely right. The General Public are not permitted on site until Control are given the all clear, as it is a Health & Safety Issue with the vans driving around.Staff are insured for this, GP are not. Lewis.
Ash trays, I always hate flicking my fags in bushes and stubbing them out on the bins when I'm at the park.Subway.
Ricky
where do you suppose thes ashtrays can go? they cant hover in random places around the park and they cant go on the floor! They would be thieved and nobody would actually use them par a few nice people!
Lewis.
I don't mean little glass/plastic/whatever ash trays, I'm talking the big ones you find on tops of bins. They could easily dump a few of them around the park.OR something like this
Ricky
I see what you mean now, as I do on occation smoke I can see the issue your having.
th13teen
I dont think thorpe will ever do that simply because they are trying to stop smokers as much as possible now! Which I can understand but if they had designated smoking areas all round the park then fair enough!
Lewis.
I'm all for smoking areas, but surely people would still smoke outside of them.
th13teen
I'm all for smoking areas, but surely people would still smoke outside of them.Well yeah that would always be hard but At alton I saw staff following guidlines to make sure smokers smoked in the designated smoking areas!
Lewis.
Actually, I would prefer to be able to smoke wherever I wanted. Surely throwing a few of those ash tray bins (Do they actually have a name) would be much easier and cheaper?
JoshC.
I can see it already.."New 4 2013! Try out our INSANE bins with added ash trays! Can u handle the WICKED task that lies ahead?!"
Lewis.
I want them sooner than that
Luke_A
I think that is a good idea, as long as they do not put them in Q-lines, people already smoke in queues; it doesn't need to be made any worse. When people do smoke in Queue lines some "pretend" that they did not know it was not allowed.
themeparkmad
Why should they have designated areas outside??!Obviously in stations and queue lines I agree are no nos but is there really a point of having smoking areas? They are outside so who gives a flying fish!
