Project LC
Rumours have it that cedar point are getting a $15m B&M dive machine for 2016 on the site of the recently demolished thearter. The source seems to have some fairly good evidence so we may see a new proper (the 10 seat ones, not the cheap 6 seat) dive machine soon. Altitude
Seems like a Dive Coaster is the obvious rumour to make up though, given that it's one of only a few B&M models they don't have.
Project LC
True but according to the source the rumour has come from a memo off of B&M.
Benin
The 'cheap' 6 seat ones are a better option for parks not entirely made of money... Indeed, if a 6 seater DM is good enough for Efteling (and Krake is also good)... Let the Americans have their over-rated giant DMs, they don't really get the point of them (I.e. All about the drop)...
Project LC
They are still about the drop, it's just they have something decent after them. Focusing on the drop is good but I prefer there to actually be something to the ride.

Project LC
Apparently its going to be 8 seats with 3 row trains and stand 223ft tall along with 4 inversions.
EC!
80mph maximum speed as well.
Project LC
So cedar point are going to announce Vulravn their brown/grey dive coaster with blue supports on the 18/08/15. Pictures of the track have already appeared and the name was registered a while back. It would seem the leak a while ago was correct. (Can't link the pictures due to being on mobile) OldFarmerDean
AstroDan
Can't wait for news on this! Love Griffon and Sheikra is pretty good too.
Project LC
Supposedly the layout has been leaked and someone has made a version of it in no limits 2.
Mitchada04
Here's the leaked image of the layout. Name is odd, nice enough logo though. It's apparently going to be the world's tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster. Well woop, yeah that'll really sell when they have one of the tallest and fastest coasters ever. I'm so glad the Point is getting yet another coaster that's big, not like they could have had one of those nice Triotech dark rides like some of the other Cedar Fair parks are getting. Nah, Point definitely needed a coaster, not a dark ride. OldFarmerDean
Matt 236
This park is for coasters, which is where I see the point Layout looks exciting enough though, logos decent too. Safe to say dive coasters are getting back in to fashion again really.
Project LC
The name valravn is a bird that dives vertically for its prey. Hence the odd name. The ride looks great in my opinion. Has all the things I think a dive coaster should have. May have to arrange a return visit to the point.
EC!
The only thing that is really lacking is a splash down like SheiKra, Griffon and Krake. Its very B&M, its very generic apart from the corkscrew, but if its like any dive coaster it will be a great bit of fun, not a top 10 by any means but a good fun solid coaster
Altitude
I really like the layout actually! It looks like it'll really flow, especially the second half with the airtime hill. I look forward to seeing a real POV when it opens to see how it's paced. I'm guessing it's an 8 or 10 seater and not a 6 seater?
Project LC
The leak said 8 seater with 3 rows. Won't be confirmed until next week though. Altitude
Altitude
Thanks. Also, am I right in saying this is the first dive coaster to have a dive loop?
JoshC.
It's a nice looking layout and will probably offer a fun enough ride experience. But these big, little-themed (which I assume this will be?) dive coasters just don't interest me like the much more themed ones. I guess my opinion might change if I was to ride one, but that coaster just doesn't look as appealing to me as the likes of Baron, Oblivion: TBH, and Krake. :/
Tom
Thanks. Also, am I right in saying this is the first dive coaster to have a dive loop? Yes I think so, although the Dive Coaster model has shown capable of many immelmans so not groundbreaking
Mattgwise
There has been a death at Cedar Point today. From the Cedar Point Facebook page: "At approximately 5 p.m., a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Raptor roller coaster and was struck by the ride. Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately the guest has passed away. Local authorities are on the scene conducting an investigation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time."
Altitude
Sad that somebody died, but if you enter an obviously restricted area under a moving roller coaster, I don't have much sympathy! It's always to find a "cell phone" too. Didn't this happen on one of the Batman clones years ago?

It's always to find a "cell phone" too. Didn't this happen on one of the Batman clones years ago? It happened on the one in Georgia, in fact two people have died via that Batman. Each time, the people have jumped fences to get personal items. Altitude
Project LC
So Cedar point did there official announcement today. Confirmed everything we already knew. Only new news is the trains are floorless 8 seats across with swarm style restraints.
