Errr, someone doesn't know what nonce means. Awkward!

There is now more if the scenic railway than there was recently. Yay! http://youtu.be/nO0mC1lm924 That this expensive and important work is happening should remove any doubt for those that had some that this is still progressing towards an opening.

Some people seem to have no idea what the word 'confirmed' actually means. To answer your question, NO!

Or, it's celebrating the joyous humanity that exists even in the darkest places. And odes it very respectfully with the blessing and for the benefit of the charity that continues in its honour. In what way is this different to the (never as far as I can tell criticised) Sainsburys sponsorship of Comic/Sport relief? I suppose then 'It's really wrong to exploit the suffering of children to boost sales over a summer.' Feels to me like some bandwagon jumping going on. Lets all be outraged at everything!

I know what you mean but all it is really advertising is that bar of chocolate, the proceeds of which all go to the RBL. If they made the advert to sell poppies at the store instead no one would question it, but this is the same thing really. Obviously Sainsburys are hoping on piggy back sales from it, and for them to generally look good which won't hurt their brand, but as the primary result will be money to charity it can only be a good thing. I love it.

Some bits... USA - couple of kids fall from faulty bungee trampoline things, Americans get a little over excited. Sheffield - not really a ride, but kids play equipment causes injury, manufacturer fined. USA - kiddie hurt on kiddie ride, very little info. USA - remember the unfortunate guy who slammed into the end of an flume trough empty of water? The investigation has found the operators were massively at fault, the victim is still recovering.

I imagine it's a portal into the fifth dimension.

Not necessarily for queue lines but everything, this the key to all theme park happiness I think. Ask people what they want and you'll end up with mediocrity everywhere and unmanageable fastrack, do things they don't even notice and show them a good time in a way they can't even explain themselves instead brings greatness. Although I think having too stronger opinion in either direction is not particularly sensible when so little is currently known, I've got to agree with EB at the moment. That building really isn't that big when plant, queue, pre show, shop and bag room are all taken in to account, it is clearly going to dowdy and drab theme wise and it will be a stark obvious box containing a ride with a cattle pen to queue in. When you are starting from scratch with a bare bit of land it really does not have to be that way. Then again, there might be plenty we are missing from the plans and it will be spectacular. Only about 16 months until we find out...

Wave your hands in the air like you just don't care... ... it's time to be TPMs resident DJ! For a bit of fun, to share some music you love and maybe some things about yourself, take your turn behind the wheels of steel and spin the choons of your choice for one week only. During your week you post a track a day under the following categories: MONDAY - the first record you ever bought (or downloaded if you are a child of the 00's). However embarrassing it may be. TUESDAY - your hottest record in the world right now. It better be good! WEDNESDAY - a guilty pleasure. Because everyone loves a bit of cheese. THURSDAY - anything goes. Something special to you, for whatever reason you fancy. FRIDAY - your favorite party track. It is the weekend after all. SATURDAY - simply the best record ever made. Ending on a high, hopefully! Feel free to mock or share the love for that weeks DJ as the week goes on, but I ask you only post music on your week. I'll go first as of next Monday, if you'd like to have a go comment here or PM me (might be an idea to mention if you are not around in any time soon for me to avoid) and I'll allocate you a week. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Excellent, a pleasing response! I had a rare theme park related dream a couple of weeks ago. Was at Universal but they had loads of crappy funfair rides, then I went on a big indoor dark ride but I fell out of the car and was dangling by my feet caught in the seat belt, they stopped the ride and threw me out of the park on to the street which turned out to be down town Vegas. I have no idea.

That quote is utter balls caused by a (notoriously unreliable) site simply making stuff up based on snippets that are rumoured and pretending it is in some way 'news', which then gets repeated elsewhere. So no need to worry about those things being a problem! Apart from the arena bit, but that really isn't a problem - there are tonnes of places to dump a tent.

Please give us something like nothing else that exists in the UK, or even world. Would be great to get something really unique and original, rather than a Thorpe version of whatever. Unless that whatever is Spiderman.

Banana Boat. Willy lift fun times. EDIT - damn phone showed that as the last post for some reason. Ascot. Bath or shower?

I will be there too. Possibly evening only though. Looks like I will finally meet JoshC. One of life goals fulfilled!

Having watched the video, which I'm well aware is nothing like being there, it looks like a mighty fine display but slightly lacking last years narrative and musicality, and the 'whoosher' seems a little lost - a bank of them making a wall would be much more effective. ITHOTMK seems like it was always written to explode things to though. Love it.

Loving Capaldi's Doctor; the episodes are a bit hit and miss but he is excellent. It seems he is also a thoroughly nice chap!

Thanks DGC, I'd missed that on the site and shows exactly what I need to know.
-
Thanks for that, I didn't know where to put it but didn't mean to leave it there!

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to have a think. Looks like a great event in itself but not sure if that is too much to miss out on, especially if it is cold.

The important bit Does sound very ambitious. -
It's a little flat ride, don't know if Winter Wonderland has one. Should look like this...

Ski Jump ride collapses injuring three in manchester The ride itself looks like it is still pretty much intact to me, with the surrounding walkway having collapsed. If the surround has gone off center as seems from this account then the cars would simply slip off the track and be consistent with her account. Ski Jumps seem to be one of the more incident prone rides from my anecdotal experience. Funnily enough my dad and I have both witnesses accidents with ski jumps about 20 years apart! Many many years ago my Dad was at The Kursel in Southend when a car came clean off at high speed and shot across the fair, and quite a lot of years ago at my local fair in Grays I saw one of the ride cars collapse in on itself during its 'jump, landing on its out edge.
