February 7, 201411 yr comment_176087 If by 'big coaster' you mean a 1.4m coaster, then my first 3 were:1) X:\No Way Out 2) Colossus 3) Nemesis Inferno To be honest, no entirely sure about the order of Colossus and Inferno (did all 3 of those coasters on the same day - oh to finally be 1.4m!), but it sounds about right. If by 'big coaster' you mean (one of) a park's major coasters, then stick Antelope at Gulliver's World as the first on that list.
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176089 First coaster - Vampire First Inverting coaster - Nemesis Some top quality right there...
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176091 Corkscrew at Alton Towers as if I remember correctly it had a 1.2m height restriction... think I may have done black hole before if that's classed as a big coaster?
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176093 First coasters I rode were 1/ The Original Flying Fish Thorpe 2/ The Dragon at Legoland 3/ Jungle Coaster Legoland
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176094 My first was the Scenic Railway at Dreamland Margate. My second was the Dragon coaster at LEGOLAND, followed by the Jungle Coaster. My first ride at an adult theme park (ie: Thorpe or Alton) was Stealth.
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176096 I think mine was Big Dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach at the age of 6, although it may have been Megafobia a year before that!
February 7, 201411 yr comment_176102 1) Dragon coaster Legoland 2) Jungle coaster Legoland (Good memories there until they put stupid roofs on it) 3) Avalanche BPB (That counts as a rollercoaster right?) 4) Inversion BPB 5, 6, 7) The wooden coasters at BPB 8) Nemesis Thorpe 9) Saw: The Ride Thorpe 10) Colossus Thorpe
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176109 I really have no idea, I wish I did. I would guess either Space Station Zero (Fish!) or some fairly crappy unmemorable pile at an early Pleasurewood Hills may have been first, but they're not big. 'Roller Coaster' at Great Yarmouth was probably one of the first bigger ones, or Scenic Railway at BemBom Brothers (Dreamland). Mine obviously pre date the bigger (now) Merlin coasters so those were the biggest around at the time. I would guess Corkscrew would have been my first inversion or maybe Thunderlooper, I'm not sure I was tall enough for Corkscrew on earlier visits to Alton before Thunder Looper turned up. The Alton Beast seemed huge when I first rode it, that was probably really early on. Asking the question has made me want to know, I'll ask my Dad, see if he can remember!
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176112 - My first ever rollercoaster was either Vampire or Big Thunder Mountain - My first major rollercoaster (with an inversion) was Nemesis Inferno
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176118 My first Coaster was: Treetops at Oakwood back in 2000 My first Woodie was: Megafobia in 2003 My first big Steel coaster was: Oblivion in 2005 My first big Water Ride was: Hydro/Drenched in 2003 in 2003 I was a tall 6 year old lol
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176131 Nemesis Inferno in 2011! Not gonna lie I was scared till then but I did it and now I go on everything! (Except slammer and rush)
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176133 Nemesis Inferno in 2011! Not gonna lie I was scared till then but I did it and now I go on everything! (Except slammer and rush) You will go on Rock Rage but you wont go on Rush??? rock rage if anything is 10 times worse
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176134 Rock Rage has over the head bars and feels secure! Rush has LAP BARS and you are facing the ground which for me is a no no
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176136 Rock Rage has over the head bars and feels secure! Rush has LAP BARS and you are facing the ground which for me is a no no it doesnt go upside down though?
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176137 I'm not too sure what my first big ride was in general, was probably one of Florida Disney rides in 2003 (I think I did Thunder Mountain etc that year). If not, February 2005 for sure when I did all the Disney World coasters (except Rock n Rollercoaster), Gwazi at Busch and if it hadn't broken down Scorpion which would have been my first inverting ride. But later in 2005 I did my first inverting coaster which like many others was Nemesis Inferno. So in response to the topic question, my first big coaster in the UK was Nemesis Inferno.
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176141 it doesnt go upside down though? yeah but it feels really safe and secure!
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176142 yeah but it feels really safe and secure! It's like that on Rush, these days they seem to make sure they put the restraint on so tight it would crush your nutsack.
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176144 It's like that on Rush, these days they seem to make sure they put the restraint on so tight it would crush your nutsack. oh well that's fine then if they push the bar in to make it extra tight I will ride it
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176147 oh well that's fine then if they push the bar in to make it extra tight I will ride it yay
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176151 Yes they do seem to be pinning the restraints more nowadays, which annoys me as I like the float/airtime!
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176174 Hmmm.. my first big ride.. I'd say big ticket attraction. Therefore.. Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom). Or Thunder Mountain Railroad if you wanna be boring. First inverting? Inferno. Edit: Oh crumbs, UK. Awkward. First big one would have to be X then, if we're saying 1.4m = big.
February 8, 201411 yr comment_176175 You will go on Rock Rage but you wont go on Rush??? rock rage if anything is 10 times worse For ages I vowed to never do Rush or Slammer (due to the restraints) - but finally got the courage to do Rush towards end of season - yeah it is lap bars but they secure really tight - you HAVE to try it Back on topic - First coaster (powered) - Runaway train CWOA First coaster - Vampire CWOA First inverted coaster - Space Mountain DLP
February 9, 201411 yr comment_176181 First Coaster - Runaway Mine Train at Chessie in 1992 First inverting coaster - Corkscrew in 2000. First ride that scared the bejeebus out of me but conquered - Samurai at Chessie in 2000.
