Planning on visiting on the 15th as well and only remembered about mothers day last week (how awful of me) I just assumed it would be practically empty? Weather if cold should put people off the only real draw is it being opening weekend. And let's face it only enthusiasts will care whether they go on opening weekend or not in my opinion! So I'm hoping for a nice quiet day.

Worth noting they're giving away 500 tickets each day for that weekend, the 14th and 15th of March. https://www.thorpepark.com/events-experiences/events/my-first-coaster/

May encourage people to go to get the free tickets but I doubt it will make much difference at all, seeing as no one really knows about it anyway.

I imagine it will be dead, especially mothers day.

500 free tickets won't affect queue times much at all.

That's what I was thinking, but the fact they're giving away tickets may attract more people to go. People who don't manage to get a free ticket may buy one anyway as they are there.

Really? Isn't the total capacity of the park about 9000, so 500 is a significant amount.

It's around double that aha. Most coasters get around 1000 people an hour, flats around 300/400 so 500 people spread around the park really won't make much difference at all.

Something I've noticed is that 13th April- 17th April are all listed as 10-6pm days which would imply school holidays however the Surrey Schools Term Dates calendar states that schools in the Surrey area go back on the 13th April.

Anyone got any idea on why this is, and if so, do you reckon the specified week will be particularly busy?

(Also, on the busiest days during Easter, what are peak queue times, I would imagine no where near as busy as Summer or Fright nights but coaster lengths of up to around 90minutes?)
