December 18, 201410 yr comment_199228 I no longer have lessons at school on mondays so next season I was thinking about going to thorpe on a monday. How busy is it usually on a monday?
December 18, 201410 yr comment_199235 Monday's on average are the 3rd quitest day of the week (over the months sept to nov). However they can be annoying with 1 train operation also it will be march so cold and rather empty no matter what day you go.
December 22, 201410 yr comment_199441 Anyone know how busy it'll be in their Christmas event? When they finally have one?
December 23, 201410 yr comment_199469 any one know how bad it is going to be in the feb half term? Impossible to tell really, but if it's similar to previous half term events, it won't be too busy.
February 27, 201510 yr comment_203746 How would it be on the 24th March? Am I correct in thinking that'll be the week after the first week of opening?
February 27, 201510 yr comment_203757 Oooo this is sounding like good timing I might just have to go then!!! Why do you guys think it'll be so quiet then?
February 27, 201510 yr comment_203758 Most people are at school/work in the week, also more people are likely to take a Monday/Friday off work rather than a Tuesday. Another thing is not everyone realising Thorpe is open yet.
March 7, 201510 yr comment_204344 Sunday the 15th is mothers day. Very Very quiet normally but as its opening weekend it may be just a little busier than a normal mothers day. If I had to guess everything below 20 minutes providing everything is on 2 trains.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204413 Last year on Mother's Day it was practically dead. Walk on for Stealth and The Swarm from what I can remember.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204454 Planning on visiting on the 15th as well and only remembered about mothers day last week (how awful of me) I just assumed it would be practically empty? Weather if cold should put people off the only real draw is it being opening weekend. And let's face it only enthusiasts will care whether they go on opening weekend or not in my opinion! So I'm hoping for a nice quiet day.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204497 Worth noting they're giving away 500 tickets each day for that weekend, the 14th and 15th of March. https://www.thorpepark.com/events-experiences/events/my-first-coaster/ May encourage people to go to get the free tickets but I doubt it will make much difference at all, seeing as no one really knows about it anyway. I imagine it will be dead, especially mothers day.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204507 Really? Isn't the total capacity of the park about 9000, so 500 is a significant amount.20,000.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204510 500 free tickets won't affect queue times much at all. That's what I was thinking, but the fact they're giving away tickets may attract more people to go. People who don't manage to get a free ticket may buy one anyway as they are there. Really? Isn't the total capacity of the park about 9000, so 500 is a significant amount. It's around double that aha. Most coasters get around 1000 people an hour, flats around 300/400 so 500 people spread around the park really won't make much difference at all.
March 8, 201510 yr comment_204512 Even so requirements to gain those tickets are very spesific do you reckon all of them were even given away?
March 9, 201510 yr comment_204597 How busy do you lot think Sunday the 15th of March will be? Has anyone else ever been on the first Sunday of operation to the public of the year, and if so how was it? Don't worry - next year you'll have queue-times.com to inform you
March 10, 201510 yr comment_204781 Something I've noticed is that 13th April- 17th April are all listed as 10-6pm days which would imply school holidays however the Surrey Schools Term Dates calendar states that schools in the Surrey area go back on the 13th April. Anyone got any idea on why this is, and if so, do you reckon the specified week will be particularly busy? (Also, on the busiest days during Easter, what are peak queue times, I would imagine no where near as busy as Summer or Fright nights but coaster lengths of up to around 90minutes?)
March 10, 201510 yr comment_204783 LOL someone looked at a 2014 calender me thinks... What are you on about? Take a look for yourself... https://www.thorpepark.com/resort-information/getting-here-opening-times
