Ian-S Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 On the website it talks about meeting some other Dreamworks friends at the end. I'm pretty sure the last room is where you're greeted by all the Dreamworks characters. Yeah there's quiet a few non-shrek characters in the last 'photo' room. JoshC. 1 Quote
JoshC. Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 Josh C getting to see Shrek lol ...... Its more like shreks friends adventure..... I must be missing something here... Why is the idea of me seeing Shrek lol-worthy? Quote
pluk Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 It's quite 'actual Shrek' light is all. Quote
RobF Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I must be missing something here... Why is the idea of me seeing Shrek lol-worthy?More referring to your original post.. Then getting to see Shrek, at a Shrek attraction. You would expect Shrek to play a big part in the attraction. Quote
JoshC. Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 More referring to your original post.. Then getting to see Shrek, at a Shrek attraction. You would expect Shrek to play a big part in the attraction. Which is exactly what I was saying; it's a Shrek attraction, so I would only expect Shrek. I wasn't aware of the 'and friends' idea. Quote
Ian-S Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 You only get to see Shrek in the flesh once, towards the end. But don't let that put you off, you get a lot of interaction with the other characters along the way, and see Shrek virtually occasionally. Quote
Mer Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I don't see why only seeing Shrek at the end is an issue anyway? We already knew that the meet and greet with Shrek and other Dreamworks characters was at the end, so nobody would be expecting to see him in the flesh in any of the scenes. The attraction being named "Shrek's Adventure" doesn't literally have to mean SHREK EVERYWHERE. That's just being really pedantic and nit-picking...and apart from the odd post on here, I've not heard anyone else moan that there wasn't enough Shrek. OldFarmerDean 1 Quote
RobF Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I think the attraction is good but you would expect to meet shrek in the attraction in even one scene, rather than just a photo op is all Quote
Coaster Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I haven't experienced the Shrek attraction but it annoys me when people's posts are dismissed as "moaning" or "nit-picky" just because they aren't completely positive. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion IMO. Quote
Ian-S Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 It's not an issue for me but I can see how it would be for people used to instantly accessing whatever they want, back when I was a kid attractions like this were ten a penny and half the fun was the excitement building up to the final scene. The only thing I'd actually change is I'd send you 'back' to London via the bus, so you got to experience it twice, instead of the lift, having a big thing like the buss as the first thing you do, sets the bar high and when everything following is just interaction, leaves you a bit deflated, or that's the impression I've got from other people who've done it. Mer Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I'm 25 and have been on these forums for years, so I am more than aware that "Everyone is entitled to their opinion"...besides, you could turn that around and say I was also expressing my opinion IMO. Quote

OldFarmerDean Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 The film is called Shrek... You don't see anyone complaining when it isn't just shrek for the whole film? Mer 1 Quote
Coaster Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 So when do you plan to be positive about anything then CJ? When the parks actually do something worth praising! Anyway my thoughts on how the parks are operated is completely irrelevant in this discussion. Quote
CWOAfanMalcolm Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Maybe I'm just very weird But I felt more like I was flying On the bus When it wasn't moving then when it was Whether if it that was just where I sat I don't know (First time sat at the front when it was moving) (second time sat in the middle on the very edge of the bus)Â Quote
TraX Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 The bus is being re-programmed, I can only assume to tame it down to prevent any further damage on the floor/ceiling below. Lots of painting and fixed bits and bobs all over sounthbank following a large H&S investigation. Quote
MachoMachine Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 Did this on Friday and it was definitely... something else. The bus ride was going well (it was even moving) until someone whacked their arm out of the area and it stopped, the ride restarted and the bus no longer moved Seemed like a lot of photo points and the book at the end was sneaky, wouldn't say I'd do it again but no harm in trying! Theming was nice though, and all the actors really helped make the experience better. Ryan 1 Quote
Jack F Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 Went today for the first time since peak season last year. A once 80-minute show shortened to just barely 50 minutes. Where there used to be queues to get to the magical bus depot is no longer, meaning a smoother transition from lift to show, however they got rid of Sleeping Beauty, and shortened just about every scene. Maybe I thought it was worse because I did the Dungeons before, but it just felt sloppy compared to last time. Quote
RobF Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 I dont know if this has been brought up but all the mechanical parts of the bus have now been completely removed, as we visited today and were told it will never move again :-( Quote

Ryan Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 I guess something's happened that has made that impossible. Quote

Ryan Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 Shame, the half assed attempt at moving it had when I went was actually alright. Quote
lewumbrajumbos Posted April 7, 2016 Author Report Posted April 7, 2016 When I was at the attraction on the 31st of January the bus was moving, so they did indeed fix it but have obviously now gone back to poopy stationary bus. Quote
