Accident on Expedition GeforceApril 29, 2010 More or less fresh off the press yet another accident on an Intamin coaster, although they probably are blameless on this one. First reports suggest that the 4th car actually derailed from the track and jammed the train 20m up on the rides 2nd airtime hill.More info at www.ride-guide.co.uk

Wow, wasn't expecting this coming home from school, really surprised and shocked. It shows that however often and thouroughly rides are checkd in this day and age accidents will still occur. Anyway good to hear it was only bruising and shock, in a sense a very lucky escape of what could have been worse.

LEGOLAND have their 3rd new land in 3 years: Pirate Landing which is a retheme of the old piratish area with the addition of a pirate ship. One thing ive noticed about the map though - no jungle coaster... REALLY? its the most thrilling ride... I reckon they're making space for ANOTHER new land for 2011 around there. Any thoughts?

The space is for a new Hotel....

Alton Towers - 9th in Europe. Its weird to see Legoland Windsor above THORPE PARK!

Not at all...Since Legoland attracts families and has the whole brand thing... Hence more people will go there because they know what they're getting more instantly than with Thorpe (and Chessie/Alton)... It's why Disney is the highest lot because of how well known the brand name is...Why do some people have a fixation with putting Thorpe in capitals? It's as bad as people typing Chessie in full and putting 'And Zoo' at the end...

Does anyone remember Marcus Sheen and his website Coaster Kingdom? Whilst searching the internet for information on Megafobia I cropped upon his review of Megafobia and I can't believe how similar our views on Theme Parks are. Here's a few chosen quotes for people to muse on... especially when it comes to our "newer" attractions.

Most importantly of all, Megafobia is good honest fun, and lots of it. Just watch rider's faces as they head down the exit ramp, and you'll see that the vast majority will be wearing a big smile, regardless of age, gender, or any other division you can think of. Even the most terrified first time rider can return to the station beaming with joy - who knows, it may very well give them the confidence to go and try more intimidating rides elsewhere. In other words, besides giving thrill-seekers what they want, Megafobia is the kind of ride that turns people into roller coaster fans, rather than just preaching to the converted. At a time when no coaster can be built without it being some sort of record breaker or world's first, it often seems to be forgotten that its first job should be to give people what Megafobia does - happiness. It is obvious that Oakwood is very proud of the ride, and rightly so. Nobody there seems to have forgotten the role Megafobia played in getting the park to where it is today. Whereas certain other parks let their coasters fall into disrepair, the maintenance of Megafobia simply cannot be faulted, and it rides as well today as it ever did, if not better. It makes such a wonderful change to find a park that seems to regard a coaster as something to be proud of, rather than a cash cow to be milked until it becomes unprofitable. Strangely, as an outsider, you even get the impression that the local visitors are proud of "their" ride, which is something you certainly don't get at many parks.Megafobia is a classic coaster in every sense of the word. It is, I'm delighted to say, the absolute antithesis of some parks' irritating policy of building over-hyped coasters that seem to be designed to suit the preferences of the marketing team rather than the riders. Endlessly re-ridable, and an absolute joy both to ride and to watch, Megafobia is the perfect ride for a truly charming park. Quite simply, if you want a template for the perfect mid-size park, look no further than Oakwood; and if you want a template for the perfect crowd-pleasing coaster, look no further than Megafobia. In a world where the larger parks are prepared to spend 8-figure sums on rides that look outdated within five years, Oakwood have managed to find a way to spend relatively little and get a ride easily capable of squaring up to anything old father time cam throw at it.It's a cliché, but it's true: Quality will out. Megafobia really is a high quality ride, and it's pleasing to see that the park's visitors seem to recognise this. Oakwood truly deserves all the success that has come its way since that day in 1996 when Megafobia opened, and the fact that the park has gone from strength to strength ever since leaves one obvious question: Why haven't any other parks followed Oakwood's lead?

It's odd to think that review was written in 2002.. and yet it's all true. Parks no longer really seem to care about their guests (well.. aside from Europa Park) and are only interested in overhyped record breakers and PR hits.

A Dive Coaster for Heide ParkWhile the construction of the new Splash Battle Mack advance quietly, Heide Park is already busy with his next novel. Indeed, the park plans to open for the 2011 season a new mountain Russian (eighth), a Dive Coaster signed B & M If no information has yet filtered on the route or location, we do know that John Wardely cons, including the father of Nemesis (Alton Towers) and Vampire (Chessington) will be responsible for theming of the beast. Come on, a little over a year of patience and we may test the third B & M Germany after Silverstar and Black Mamba!

Found this, can't remember where so not sure on the level of reliability.I am sure the track for whatever coaster it may be has arrived. Posted ImageI personally think the track is too thin for dive machine, but the angle of the camera makes it difficult to gauge the size of the track. Might be a modified dive machine, smaller trains or something?
