August 24, 20169 yr comment_240451 Spoke with an engineer who came out of DBGT this morning. He told me they're fixing all the teething issues of Ghost Train such as the ride system, the computers, the train doors and some of the 4D effects. He went as far as promising it to be 110% better than before. Unfortunately, he also said that even the engineers don't have a clue when it'll be next open... ****e.

If they're fixing all of that, another week I'd say. Perfectly timed for when the schools go back so they can earn maximum profit..
August 24, 20169 yr comment_240458 Out of interest, how many days has this attraction been open for the entire day?
August 24, 20169 yr comment_240459 I don't think it has done a full day has it, as in, open when the park opens?
August 24, 20169 yr comment_240464 We went on 27th July a staff member told us the earliest it has opened has been 11am. Shortly after our visit, it broke down for good and remains what it is now. So, unless I am wrong and during soft opens it was running (and going by what I was told), I don't think this ride has opened for a full Thorpe Park day.

Think about it: Swarm is a rollercoaster, DBGT is not. Swarm has inversions, DBGT does not. Swarm (Until recently) hadnt been down a full day, DBGT hasn't been open one full day. Swarm is manufactured by B&M, (part of) DBGT is manufactured by Intamin. Swarm is themed around devestation and destruction, DBGT is... Oh.
August 27, 20169 yr comment_240593 Thorpe Park Mania Facebook have posted the backwards clock is finally in stock for £12!
August 27, 20169 yr comment_240594 I wonder if they're regretting spending so much on this over a coaster
August 27, 20169 yr comment_240595 They could've easily built a coaster that suffered the same amount of downtime...

August 29, 20169 yr comment_240676 Weather????? How would a dark ride ever have weather issues.Another World's First[emoji769] for Merlin. Wait until marketing find out...
August 29, 20169 yr Author comment_240677 There was a lot of staff in and out yesterday along with contractors all day. Hopefully it's back soon
August 29, 20169 yr comment_240680 I can't imagine it would be much longer now. I'm hoping for by the end of this week

August 29, 20169 yr comment_240685 It struggles with heat a lot. The PCs have no where to vent and by the sounds of things Merlin cheaped out and didn't go for water cooling for each PC.
August 29, 20169 yr Author comment_240692 The rides been closed for 2 weeks - I think it's safe to say it's nothing to do with the weather. Ive ridden it on very hot days - the building gets hot but I've not sure what evidence we have to say it's actually causing issues?
August 29, 20169 yr comment_240696 Oh I didn't mean it was causing the issue, I just was giving an example of a weather related problem. The building is heated though so its like the real underground.

August 30, 20169 yr comment_240709 Well 2 ride hosts told our group that a lot of effort went into the attraction such as Derren Easter eggs and heating the building so it's like the real underground. The trains are not that hot naturally.
August 30, 20169 yr comment_240713 you've got 60 computers in a tube train, in a metal shed. of course heat can make it troublesome; the processors don't work well when heated up
August 30, 20169 yr comment_240716 Would not surprise me if they are using Intel stock coolers. I get the impression HTC gave them pc requirements and that's what Merlin went out and bought but of course HTC wouldn't have mentioned cooling.
