Chessiekid
It really depends who's operating, the rule is supposed to be 3 adults, which is anyone over 16. Although I have found a lot of the time the hosts/operators don't really mind if there are 4 adults. It's defiantly not as strict as dragons fury. dk3
Rattlesnake continues to remain closed since the accident at AT. Does anyone know if they're planning on having running again this season?
SteveJ
Yes they are and most the work has been done I believe, should be reopened for August busy period? dk3
dk3
Marvellous!
Ian-S
The ride looked very sad yesterday, all quiet and still.
Benin
It has been testing... Â Stolen from Coasterforce HermanTheGerman
JoshC.
Didn't even realise it was still closed; thought it was only down for a short period and reopened at the same time as Fury. Probably hasn't helped Chessington much, especially with the the slightly older guests.
SteveJ
Hasn't been open since the smiler accident. Fury is down again now for an unrelated reason
Ian-S
Fury was down yesterday too.
Tom
It'll be back open soon. Â It often has the occasional multi-day meltdown
Rover2012
Went last week and was surprised to see it still down. Is Rattlesnake made by Gerstrauler as well?
Tom
It's Maurer I believe
Rover2012
I was just surprised it was still shut into the summer hols. Must be receiving modifications other than just 'new operating procedures'
Matt 236
Fury & Rattlesnake are Maurer (which are German) Vampire is Arrow (defunct) & Vekoma (trains) (the former were American and the latter is Dutch) Scorpion is Mack (which is also German) Unfortunately Fury is unreliable on the grounds of receiving simple faults being major problems whilst Vampire it's mainly due to age. Scorpion seems to the only coaster at Chessington that's actually reliable these days.
yeah
On our visit on Friday my younger sister wanted to measure herself because she really wants to go on Rattlesnake but she's not tall enough. She couldn't measure herself as there was a chain over the entrance, so we asked the poor member of staff who's job it is to stand at the entrance all day watching people walk to Scorpion if it was closed indefinitely. He said that they were aiming to reopen the ride in the late Summer period or just after. Hope I helped dk3 and Ian-S
Jordanluke2009
So a guest asked today a member of staff standing outside the ride when will it open again apparently it's reopening Tomorro... dk3
dk3
I really do hope so. They've put a teaser on their FB page too. Fingers x'd.
Mysterio Ka
I really want to believe that, but your recent post spree means I can't. JoshuaA
Jordanluke2009
A guest asked a staff member and posted on facebook.
JoshuaA
To be honest with the latest teaser I doubt this will be a Rattlesnake reopening, But I think maybe we might get new arrivals at zufari..
Benin
Hey look, the teased announcement is new giraffes! Â Just because a guest asked a staff member doesn't make anything true... Scenic Railway should be open in a couple of weeks then if we're using such logic... JoshuaA
dk3
I've noticed that the status on the website this morning has been changed from 'This ride is unavailable today' to 'This ride is currently unavailable'. My money's on it opening later
yeah
Rattlesnake is open today, and there are also two arrivals to Zufari. JamminGamer and dk3
Graeme
Rattlesnake seems to be running on reduced throughout....I'm no ride expert but it seems as though a train cannot be dispatched now until the one I front has cleared all the brakes on the top "s" bends...I'm sure it used to be dispatched a lot quicker?
Benin
Defo used to dispatch earlier than that... Â Probably as part of the whole "we don't want rides to risk crashing ever again" idea...
