Jammy3112
So, how many years do people think that good old Nemesis has got left in it's tank? Personally, I can't see it going anywhere for a long time provided it's well kept and refreshed every so often!
OldFarmerDean
Can't see it going anywhere for another 20 years unless there's an accident to cause the closure, or unfortunately it's not maintained well enough and the structure starts to crack under stress. OldFarmerDean
Entrance from the hotel through the woodland walk wasn't very well organised... Anyway we were the only ones to use it, and meant we got to nemesis just after 9 and were the only ones in forbidden valley and got a ride on nemesis all to ourselves with no one else in sight, was so good! tomglazed
So, how many years do people think that good old Nemesis has got left in it's tank? Personally, I can't see it going anywhere for a long time provided it's well kept and refreshed every so often! I agree with you, as long as it remains well maintained and periodically upgraded then it has many years left. When it comes to potential retrofits e.g. new trains with the vest restraints or reversing some rows, I'm a little indifferent. I mean Nemesis is still regarded as a classic around the world by enthusiasts so I can't see any changes (especially backwards rows) being received well. However from a GP perspective, I can't help but think there will be some kind of modification along the line to keep it current.
Coaster
Where's the blood river gone? It was clear when I went
Cal
It's been clear all year I believe, which is a shame. When they emptied it at the end of last season they just haven't bothered to color the water again.

Kerfuffle
Well, it's just apparently they've stopped the flow of red, as the powder gets into nearby lakes/rivers/streams, therefore putting wildlife and water supplies at risk! Whether Towers will come up with a solution and bring back the river of blood or not, I honestly have no idea

They were told if they did this again they'd be in trouble. It happened again. They now will never put red dye in lake again because of it. JoshC.
^To be fair, environmental issues should be a big issue, especially around Alton. It's a shame, but I'd much rather water than have them risk big fines (or worse)! Hopefully there's some creative way they could solve the issue though. Benin
Didn't help with the floods last year causing the filters to clog up due to the dye either... Some park issues aren't in their control...

That's a shame as it looked really good, like Josh said hopefully they could find a solution somehow and we could see the red back in the future! Fred
There's a solution - ensure it can never drain into the rivers (it's a pump drain, so break it?) If you need to pump it out, use the vehicles like they did beforehand.. though you can remove dye by chlorinating the water and then counterbalancing it afterwards (and if it can't drain into the rivers it wont matter about high concentrations of chlorine either). That'd be quite a cheap way of doing things (compared to pumping out and taking to a storage site or whatever). However you'd need someone who wants to accept that risk or just leave it as it is. Kerfuffle
Why would they drain it though? I'm pretty sure it runs on a constant circuit loop
Project LC
They drain it when it rains. Too much water gets in the system and the water level rises. That means it flows into the surroundings and can prevent Nemesis from running as the clearance of the train and the water isn't big enough. It was open all day on Sunday, not too sure about Monday. I was checking the que times at the park on my phone on Sunday and it said it was open? EddieGreen
Popped up to Alton Towers today and Nemmie was running well. Nice and quick after the rain in the afternoon.
Olistjj
ah well all of yesterday and this morning before like 1300 it was showing as closed
Tom
Opened late and shut down yesterday for a little while around 1. The last two rows had some trouble unlocking restraints yesterday as staff members were having to yank down a metal bar manually to release people; probable cause? Fred
^ Nope, that'd be a greasing issue. It was an electrical issue rather than mechanical. Was closed for a total of two hours yesterday (if we include 9-10am as an hour) Tom
