I like BPB but won't defend things I don't agree with, the same goes for any park. Their attitude to customer service is shocking as of late. Mark9
I'm with Coaster Jamie here. It would be better if they had a minimum close of 5 and extend when necessary but advertising a 7pm close and closing 2 hours early is really not the way to do it. Mattgwise
Wild mouse cars are being sold on ebay. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wild-Mouse-Car-Mousey-No-2/153119357669?hash=item23a69ffae5%3Ag%3AhR4AAOSwgetbRb60&_nkw=Wild+mouse+car&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1313.TR6.TRC0.A0.H0.XWild+mo.TRS0 Missed it thoroughly on my first visit since it had gone last weekend. Still so sad to know it will never run again but feel privelaged to have ridden it several times over the years. Coaster
Matt 236
As much as I’d be tempted to buy one, I can’t really warrant over £1500 (as of 23:20 30/07/2018). It may have been one of the last Wooden Mouse coasters, but would much rather spend that on other trips. I struggle to warrant £50 for a Mouse Wheel, let alone that for a ride car. I’m sure someone will buy though.
Coaster
Car parking reached £18 today I believe (though I have heard that it was £20 earlier on).
Mattgwise
Why does anyone pay that anyway when you can park completely free on the roads opposite big blue hotel? It's a ten minute walk from the park, closer than the Alton Towers car park is from the entrance for comparison.
Benin
The NCP car park across road as well (Sandcastle one) is surely cheaper too?
Mattgwise
That one is £8 for 12 hours. So again much cheaper and basically on the doorstep!

I agree, I stay in digs about three roads away when I'm up there and there are always parking places on the roads.

Matt 236
Definitely an improvement on the original version. The first advert barely promoted this as a coaster. The re-editing and inclusion of ride shots is definitely an advantage here. Coaster and JoelAllen

Yeah, this one; https://youtu.be/PK_yVGW1BHY I think the new one is much improved as it actually shows the product as well as people (adding the human element is always a good thing in theme park ads IMO), still isn't perfect as it feels a bit "cut and paste" but much better than the first version despite the interesting visuals it had. Marc
Anyone know how icon is doing for the park? When was there for the tpm meet it felt busy, although not necessarily busier than I’ve seen it before. I got an email offering free return visits too, along with the new advert I’m wondering if it’s had the effect they hoped?

I made a return visit two weeks after we went and it was quieter, but still not too quiet and a good atmosphere. Like you I don't think it seemed to be massively busier than previous years and the week I went saw two days extended until 8pm but also two days where it shut early at 5pm, showing a very mixed week. I guess we will have to wait and see when profit reports are released. Last time round they made £1 million after tax: https://www.insidermedia.com/insider/northwest/revenue-rises-at-blackpool-pleasure-beach I think the problem is lack of advertising out of the area. There were tonnes of signs all over Blackpool but I have not seen anything down south and haven't seen any advert on TV once.

The park hasn't felt any busier than last year for me, and Icon was virtually walk-on all day on Sunday on 2 trains... it has a good throughput, but something's not right if your new 16 million pound coaster can't attract a queue. JoshuaA
I honestly think BPB really missed the mark on marketing, sure the new ad looks great but summer is coming to a close and it feels a little too late tbh. Coaster

TPGG
Hi guys! Where is good (value for money) to stay in Blackpool for 2 nights within walking distance to the park? I'm going at the beginning of October ?
Benin
Literally ANY B&B. Like, seriously, pick a decent rated B&B and have fun. There's HUNDREDS of them to choose from.
