A-Kid Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I got a little question about Inferno. Does it have a B&M Inspection Ball? Like this:There are a few others with these too. Just wondering... Quote
Marc Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Never seen one! I guess they may have one in the main engineering warehouse or somthing? Quote
Luke_A Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 don't know if Thorpe have one, but Alton might being as they have 3 B&M's (Oblivion may need a different type, due to the track being wider). Quote
Elmer-Fudd Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I havent seen one eaither but I'ld assume they have some sort of device similar to that ball thing because Thorpe is the only thrill seeking park in the south, so the couldn't really borrow Altons. Quote
Luke_A Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Even if Thorpe did have one it would just be for inferno, as the track styles on Intamin's, Gerstlauer's and B&M's are all different. Quote
Ricky Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 I take it Inferno isn't in the Freeze theme this year? None of the rides have any extra-theme this year. Quote
Luke_A Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 I have noticed that Inferno's mist in the tunnel has not been working very well recently, instead of it being mist, there is just water coming out of the jets that ends up spraying you right in the face. Maybe they will clean or sort out the jets again soon. Quote
Fred Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 don't know if Thorpe have one, but Alton might being as they have 3 B&M's (Oblivion may need a different type, due to the track being wider).Nah. Don't think they need them, they can easily get to the track without some random ball anyway! Quote
Ricky Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Anyone go on Wednesday? The music was thumbingly loud around the area! not sure if it still is like that Quote
StevenVig Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Anyone go on Wednesday? The music was thumbingly loud around the area! not sure if it still is like that I Hope it is!! Quote
holtjammy16 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 It was yesterday! Does anyone know where I can find that music with the catchy drum loop? Quote
Mattgwise Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 The music here was fantastic again today. The whole area thumping out the Nemesis Inferno Theme just like it did in 2003. Then it became very atmospheric at night when the music changed to Fright Nights music (one of few areas with its own FN music)However very disappointed that the red lights were not on and the Mist is off or not working. It would have been great at night with the mist. Quote
Ricky Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 However very disappointed that the red lights were not on and the Mist is off or not working. It would have been great at night with the mist.I think the mist was turned off after severall of the nozzles burst and now shoot jets of water at the two right hand seats. It was so uncomfortable Quote
MikeyT Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 When I went a couple of weeks back the geysers under the loop were still working- every other train like it has been for a few seasons. They look and sound great! Quote
MiniShinny Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 what is the building in the back of this picture? Quote
Kevin Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Detonator Control Box, behind that is park wide recycling/bin dump, behind that is Amity Shop and Drop/Arcade. Quote
electricBlll Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Also, Detonator is disguised behind Inferno's track. So you probably already know what the building is, but you might not recognise it because Detonator is hidden - a trick of the eye perhaps. Quote
MiniShinny Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 oh yes, couldn't see detonator behind the track at first glance. Thank You! Quote
JoshC. Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 That's actually a very nice photo! Fooled me at first glance too Quote
electricBlll Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Am I right in thinking that that was where the little wier was installed back when the ride was first constructed? There was an old photo of it, but I cannot find it as it was on the Thorpe Park Guide (which has no shut down). I cannot find it on wayback. It seems it was removed very early on for an unknown reason, sometime before or after opening...? Quote
Deleted Users Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Aren't you getting things muddled up? Greater momentum would mean that there isn't a risk about an incomplete circuit but about excessive g-forces instead. The last helix could be brutal with extra speed. Quote
Fred Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 The inversions are too small for 8 rows, pretty sure of it. That vertical loop at the beginning would be under immense pressure if it had an additional row to deal with. Quote
