Topsyturvy15
In other news special event for half term + Carousel, Skyway and Black Bucanneer all open! Fred
Glad they're slowly turning Feb half term into an event, especially one worth going for. Onwards and upwards chessie!
Ben1990
2014 is also looking to be a big investment year for Chessington if the planned hotel extension goes ahead along with the changes to the zoo around that area. I've also heard that the area around Toadie's Crazy Cars is set for redevelopment in next year. Could it be for this new coaster????
Merry-go-girl
Didn't Merlin attempt special February half term events a few years ago...but had to give up due to awful weather?
Benin
Only failed at Thorpe, Towers' goes pretty well actually... This will just be seeing if it's a viable option at Chessie...
Mark9
They've been doing this for a while. They opened Truckers, Carousel and Safari Skyway in 2008, Seastorm has opened a couple of times and Bubbleworks opened last year. It seems to be whatever rides are ready, nearest to the Zoo. Erm.....from memory, Towers' certainly didn't last year!
Merry-go-girl
I'm down, gives them more time to iron out any kinks before March.
BigBobJones
To be fair they did open today with the snow and the zoo was well gritted, shame the Bubbleworks was closed and they closed the place at 1:30, but at least they made the effort. RideAddict
Hmm, Chessington in the snow. Now that's something I must try one time.
TPJames
I visited chessington for a zoo day today, I realised how nice it was for once. Even though it was in maintenance the park was amazing and I love the zebras!! I really realised how nice chessington was.... And I waited 0 mins for bubbleworks!!! Record! RideAddict
I haven't been on a zoo day visit in years. And 0 minutes for Bubbleworks, well that's often seen these days, especially during the week.

RideAddict
The Halloween event was so crap last year it was over before it had begun, in a matter of speaking!
Merry-go-girl
0 minute queues are commonplace throughout the park midweek out of holiday season... Have been for years... 300 people days Which is why I have no idea why my fellow non pass holders are insane enough to go during holidays. When I go to a theme park it's during the week, back end of holidays. No queue to buy a ticket, no meticulous strategy for ride order, no waiting 50 minutes for food, go round on things 5 times in a row, enjoyable interaction with staff, beautiful days. BigBobJones
I went several times during the week last year, got on all rides at least three times, had lunch and still left the park at 3, some days had enough time to do everything at Chessington and go to Thorpe for a few hours. But this year looks like most visits will be at weekends with the nieces.... so looong queues :-(
Tom
Well the first saturday of half term is always really quiet for some reason. I think people will just miss out on how great the lights look in the dark etc.
Benin
Fury, at night, in the rain... Amazing scenes
RideAddict
I still haven't got over the time I got stuck on Fury's brake run when the heavens opened and I was soaked. If that wasn't enough, some daft woman hit my car in the car park as I left that day, thankfully only denting my bumper slightly which was about the size of a 2p coin, and then being very sick when I got home, for a reason I just cannot understand!
