March 3, 201411 yr comment_177580 I didn't actually know people walked on that thing?! Not the most pleasing thing to the eye, but I guess if they want to be safe rather than sorry, that's the simplest thing to do. Could be worse.

March 3, 201411 yr comment_177584 The simplest thing would be to replace the stonework tbh, I'd say that would be easier than erecting a fence...
March 4, 201411 yr comment_177596 This fence discussion is getting almost as heated and generating as much interest as the "Scorpion Express" discussion
March 4, 201411 yr comment_177598 H&S I expect. If that is dangerous, then the walk down across the valley is a death trap. Although I assume they consider the traffic flow down there not as high as this pathway. The Nemesis queueline steps are pretty uneven too..
March 5, 201411 yr comment_177643 If anyone cares/is interested, there will be no Towers Live event this year, confirmed via Twitter... Shame, but such an event hinges of having a decent line-up of 'popular' acts, and budget... Considering most of that is going on fencing, looks like Towers can't afford anyone good to turn up...
March 8, 201411 yr comment_177808 I'm guessing this is one of those token things where you have to collect a certain amount before you get the tickets. If that's the case then when people eventually get there tickets and its popular then it will be steaming busy on the weekends.
March 8, 201411 yr comment_177831 The Sun, promoting something associated to the BBC? I bet that is making their heads hurt.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_178120 The new map according to Alton Towers guide. If true, much, MUCH improved.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_178123 In contrast to what Thorpe have done I like that a lot. It is still a bit geographically suspect for my liking in a park that is so spread out and challenging to new visitors, but it is a lot clearer. The hotels take up a much more reasonable portion while still being prominent, CBeebies Land is nicely promoted, and the areas keep their character while the whole thing carries a coherent style. Nicely done.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_178135 There doesn't seem to be much in the way of difference in look compared to last year's map design, HOWEVER, they appear to have thought "Actually, we need to make this a usable map", so have spread everything out to their (relative) right location in comparison to other things... Although why does the ride list for Cloud Cuckoo Land take up an entire corner? And the hotels still annoy me being on it as well...
March 13, 201411 yr comment_178151 Although why does the ride list for Cloud Cuckoo Land take up an entire corner? I would expect that with the promotion of CBeebies land to the 2-6 year olds it makes sense to promote Cloud Cuckoo Land as well as that is for 4-10 year olds really.
March 18, 201411 yr comment_178754 Would anyone be able to tell me if there's an easy way to get from stoke on trent station to the park?
March 18, 201411 yr comment_178755 Would anyone be able to tell me if there's an easy way to get from stoke on trent station to the park? I forget the exact bus number but there is one that takes you directly to the park and the stop is just on the opposite side of the road to the station entrance/exit. I can't remember exact prices for tickets either XD But you can get one way or a return ticket Hope that helps!
March 19, 201411 yr comment_178770 Would anyone be able to tell me if there's an easy way to get from stoke on trent station to the park? You have to change at Hanley. Take the X25 and then the 32A. I saw the same question asked on Alton Towers Facebook page, timetables are here http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/staffordshire_cheshire/
March 19, 201411 yr comment_178771 Alternatively, if the train times work well, get a train to Uttoxeter and a bus from there... Hanley isn't too far from Stoke Train Station fortunately, but it's still a burden...
March 19, 201411 yr comment_178803 32a from Hanley Bus station. Every bus going from the train station side of the road goes to the bus station, there's one every 5mins or so apart from Sundays when they're less frequent. If you get on a First bus they're £5 for unlimited travel that day. It's just timings for the 32a you need to worry about. First do an X39 over summer and hopefully other holidays this year also though.
March 20, 201411 yr comment_178892 Oh Alton... http://www.towersstreet.com/news/2014/skyride-sub-terra-hex-and-ripsaw-to-open-from-11am/
March 20, 201411 yr comment_178893 No issues there for me with any of those. Why? Cos literally sod all people go on any of those before 11am. It's not like last time when it was coasters..

People would use the Skyride to get to areas of the park, so I don't understand why they are opening that late.
March 20, 201411 yr comment_178902 The only really burdenous one there is Skyride... Barely anyone rides Terry at the best of times, whilst Hex rarely has enough of a queue for it to affect people... Couldn't care less about Ripsaw...
March 20, 201411 yr comment_178905 This just gives more encouragement to go to X Sector along with everyone else at opening which is a bit counter intuitive. Forbidden Valley got wrecked.
