SkySkream
The trench isn't for the plane, it's way too far forward (to the left in that photo). I can't cast any light on what it is for though.A trench? Epic war themeing!
Sidders
The theming on this thing is shaping up to be epic! The thing I want most is epic music, too! A trench? Epic war themeing!Okay Kevvy let's take a breather! There's no themeing as of yet! Liam T, Drawin and Luke_A
AdamY
These alien-insect-things don't really seem the war of attrition type anyway, they strike me as more of a 'run in and destroy the whole damn lot at once' type
SkySkream
I know but their MUST be good theming.
JoshC.
The trench could be for a pond, couldn't it?I believe they're making some sort of pond / whatever you want to call it in that general area; if I'm looking where everyone else is that is.. AdamY
They were removed due to contamination fears from the council weren't they? Also it looks far too measured and precisely square to be a pond to me.
rollerross11
I will be there tomorrow, I need to get some images for some graphic design so I will be there with my Nikon 300mm lens.

AdamY
I have just been informed that ponds are not gone, it was theming in the lake itself that had the contamination issues - do carry on Still don't think it's a pond though. If the ponds are being put in though, surely ground work is nowhere near done yet?
TPDave
A rectangular trench? Do I sense a plane arriving at Thorpe soon? Why would they place final theming at this stage? It would just get destroyed during construction (not to mention cause headaches when installing the track). If they have the theming at the park already, it will probably be well off the site. The station is pretty impressively sized! Is there a separate maintenance shed for the ride or will it all be integrated?Dave
Sidders
Oh no, I meant that I thought the trench was intended for the plane, so I simply mentioned it because it'll be exciting to see the plane/how they'll install it in it's trench etc., etc. Not that the pane would be arriving before the track went up. thorpeparkjack
I'll take some snaps of construction tommorow....
Coaster XTREME
My own site, Theme Park Guide, and a few other websites will be there tomorrow so there will be plenty of construction updates. I will upload some of our pictures on here tomorrow. Apparently they have begun constructing lift hill? Dollywood's is going up very quickly so it shouldn't take long to get the swarm's track up. Geo
Can't wait. Are you going as a trip or are Thorpe letting you on site?
Coaster XTREME
Just like everyone else we won't be accessing the construction site .Really hope that the rumours about vertical construction are true. Didn't it say somewhere that track will be completed on the 14th? Wild Eagle is going up very quickly, but I doubt swarm will take a week. SAW took two weeks which sounds like a more realistic duration for vertical construction to finish rather than one week ?
Geo
Say they get it up in 2 weeks, I know there's various testing and configuring that can take months. Once that's done does it just stit there for 6 months?
Tom
Yeah they will purposely have it ready to open for Fright Nights but they won't open it.
Benin
Won't take two weeks to do... Will take a tad longer than that...

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere but I've attached a picture.....
Coaster XTREME
Ah yes I spotted that after plans were released. Remember the overturned car being brought up on here though.Reckon track should be complete sometime during fright nights. Doubt they will have the electrics sorted until during the closed season. They will need to get most of the track finished soon anyway so they can put most of the theming in.
Geo
Everyone at frightnights will be like wow look at that huge coaster!! I soo wanna go on it. Which I guess is Thorpe aim, it will prob be lit up and visible from stealth.
Coaster XTREME
Doubt think they will have it illuminated. Don't think SAW was lit up when it was under construction anyway?
